So i have a grinding kinda noise on the Zed, its a 54 with 43k on the clock, for the last few weeks been feeling / hearing a grinding noise low revs under mild acceleration, had the car up on the ramps today and had a look and found this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRYlE7CWrA0
This is the noise i can hear and i can feel through the car, through the pedals in every gear, 1st and 2nd more so we they are pulling away gears mostly used. It didn't do this to begin with and doesnt always do it but its there more often that not.
Can anybody shed some light on this? i have RAC warranty and have owned the car for just over 1 month, got it from a car dealer.
Look forward to thoughts.

I feel it through my feet, the pedals.
Will get it up on Ramps n have a good look... Not drovd many zeds so have nothing to compare it too
-
I considered this but ruled it out due to only doing it with mild acceleration, if it were this i would think it would be more pronounced the slower i went ---- would love this to be what it is though
-
So i own a 54 350, done 43k.
Recently i notice that some times i get a grinding noise coming from front of the car at low revs with mild acceleration.
Its hard to explain but i hear the nice engine nice engine growl but i also hear and feel a grinding noise, happens with mild acceleration 1st, 2nd n 3rd, not tried other gears,
its hard to explain and i doubt my phone would pick up the noise, it still has warrenty so will call dealer about it but would like to be armed with some info. i know typically they say the trans on these are noisy but this doesnt feel like its normal as its only just started, last couple week.
I prob only drive the car 30ish miles a week.
all thoughts and comments welcome.

Was a great show as always, only stayed the Sat as saw the rain on the sunday.
Saw few Zeds looking nice
-
Would be up for a meet be good to meet some fell Zed owners.
-
Well everything else seems to be working
-
Had some more look and found festoon bulb with heat shield on the back advised
Everything seems to be in order though so
-
I hope not.
replaced bulb, work ok
-
I'm a Nottingham zed but not mentioned above
-
So as the above says, put some led festoon bulbs in and I heard a pop and the light went, while searching for the fuse box I caught the indicator which also didn't work.... I got worried.
Found the fuse box and there was 10amp fuse gone, replaced it with a spare and indicators now work but the dome lights only work when pressed, not auto when the door opens.
Anybody ideas?

Oh no don't get me wrong... the things i can remove i will be sending to them that's a given, its more the side of the engine behind the pulleys that ill do myself, things like the intake and bonnet catch, ill have them sent off to the pro's

The picture above is the reason for my thread.
I have actually saved your picture because its what i want to be doing with my bay including that wire cover you have.
I wont be getting much hydro dipped as its becoming real common now so think i'm going with a mirror finish.
When you say dremel, what attachment? sand? disc, stone
How do you keep it shiny and from going rusty?
-
Hey guys, so i have decided how i want my bay to look, and it looks like its the same as most.
I wont be doing the intake myself but there are parts i cannot really get sent off to do, engine side under the cover behind the belts.
I could like to give that the mirror finish like most...... i'm curious to how.
Is this a case of different grades of sand paper?
tips appreciated guys
