I did try a gentle yank but didn't really want to force it. I will try a bit more force.

I got it to close but when I release it, it pops up but I can't open it any further

I just closed the bonnet and it has not gone fully down and I can't open it ? Not sure why or how it's stuck. Has anyone else had this problem or no how to release it.

Shows real commitment with so many spokes. Post up some close-ups of the rims next time you've detailed them. It would be a shame to let all that hard work go without some nice after shots.
