Ordered my lamps today
-
Just done a bit of research and this
has the same Siemens VDO part number and operating frequency as my Z'd keys.
You'd just need to swap the blade and get some one to program it to the cars ECU
-
It's a reasonable assumption that both keys would have the same internals, it would keep manufacturing costs down.
Maybe ring a Nissan dealer and get a price and part number for a 350Z key, then ring another and get a price and part number for a Micra key?
Or maybe try an onsite service like this http://carkeypeople.co.uk/services/car-key-cutting/
At the very least it's worth a few phone calls to get some idea of price.

They are cut to a certain pattern so borrowing someones else's generally wont work, most manufactures have over 100 different patterns.
Most garages have a set similar to this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4pc-Emergency-Locking-Wheel-Nut-Remover-Tool-Removal-Universal-Set-FLASH-SALE-/121628875997?hash=item1c51a55cdd:g:AZgAAOSwBLlVNgJv
Not sure what they would charge you to remove the locking nuts though and locking nuts will be damaged removing with these tools.
Maybe contact previous owner and ask if they know where the tool is, maybe they have it somewhere safe and forgot to leave it in the car.

Any response regarding the water ingress into the lamps?
-
If it is OBD one or OBD 2 protocol then all the same basic info will be provided.

Good looking units and I'm very tempted.
Confused about one thing though, why are you looking at adding a separate fog light? The "brake light" function on the new lamp could have been used as a fog lamp replacement, instead of taping that wire into the brake lights it could have been connected to the fog light plug giving twin rear fog lights.
Just a thought but that's the way I would look at installing them.

Thanks Bigjimg exactly the info I was looking for
Do you know if there is room to mount the ballasts under the head lamp cluster or will they be mounted to the inner wings?
-
Anyone got any experience with these on their Pre-Facelift for main beam conversion?
Looking for recommendations for a good quality kit at a "sensible" price. The price range of kits is vast so any recommendations / feedback would be appreciated

Outer lamps are the indicators and the inners are reverse lamp on the near side and rear fog lamp on the off side

Good luck with approaching the dealer and don't think twice about passing the case to trading standards, they came up trumps for a mate of mine recently when he bought a car with undeclared accident damage that the dealer was aware of and repaired very badly.

As Ekona said have a look at the sale of good act
It's heavy going in parts but have a read but basically goods sold must last a reasonable amount of time and be fit for the purpose intended.

You can try these guys
http://carkeypeople.co.uk/car-makes/nissan-car-key-replacement/
They helped a mate out with a VW key, not sure how cheap they were though

Just make sure it's not one of those mini bars with motion sensor plates that bill you as soon as you move anything

Nooo! Was really looking forward to seeing this project finished but I know from personal experience how much of a pita projects on this scale can be.
Hope you find a way to see it through but otherwise GLWTS

Sounds like a dodgy syncromesh which will lessen when the gearbox warms up, without actually driving the car I can't say for sure but it's a potentially big cost if it does require a gearbox overhaul.
