or he cant insure it because he still has a squeeky voice. ?
I got insured on bigger more powerful cars for less than little 1.2 shitboxes, because they tend to be owned by older more mature and better drivers.
My first car was a 2003 BMW 318i - Not exactly fast, apaz did 0-60 in 9.7 I believe, but it was more the fact it was comfortable and safe as a first car
Had leather seats, climate/cruise control too Damn nice first car
2nd car is now my Z at the age of 20 and insurance is literally £20 a month more than the BMW was, for a total of about £1700 a year.
You just have to shop around for unusual cars that people don't tend to crash much
A while ago Churchill neglected to recognize certain performance badges, which my mate took advantage of to insure a Mondeo ST for the same price as a standard Mondeo. Think it was around £900 and he was 19 at the time. The moral is to never rule out a quick car, insurance companies sometimes "forget" certain cars are quick!

If you do the research Chris, send me details via PM and I will amend the first post, no problem.
I'll take a look on Friday when I'm let out of the office

Suggestion, can the list be tabulated to include a requirements column? Some say "Not in Manchester", some have a minimum NCB etc.
-
i'd like one too, ask how many for a bulk buy

I see 2 350's and 2 370's in the Bentley motors car park in Crewe, all of them nicer than mine! But I don't work with any of those people so I'm happy

Totally giving this a go at the weekend. My car came loaded with issues and a sticky boot was one, never knew it was so easy to fix!
-
^^^ That.
PC World themselves state: "An unwanted product can be returned within 21 days of delivery as long as it's still in original, unopened packaging." if you buy it in store.
This is exactly what the customer services said. I will go back tomorrow and butter them up with an offer for store credit. So i'll be selling that next... but in the meantime, anyone want my ruddy iron?
Edit: Or does anyone know a PC world manager with a zed?
-
Great feedback. Got haggling and a guys gonna come out to me for £50 on the provision that I do all the removal and fitting myself. Can't remember which company it was, just got his number and he's called Mike...
-
Does anyone know a decent mileage correction service around the midlands or Cheshire? I've been quoted as high as £100 which is a bit of a shock! I'm looking to swap my cluster for a working one but the cost of fixing the mileage is stopping it dead
-
PC World / Currys are being strict and saying opening the box invalidates the return policy. I could try it as a polisher, not sure it'd be a good idea though!
As for the backstory - my iron conked out and I needed a new one pronto as I had a huge pile of shirts to sort out for work. I opened the box on the new one thinking itd be safe to put the receipt there, so that next time around I can use the warranty. Bad move... because it turns out my old iron was having a funny mood, and came to life later in the day.
So, anyone want an iron?
-
Brand new Bosch Sensixxx DA50 in Red, box opened but not used. Bought today after my iron died, but it's since come back to life. It cost £65, I'll sell for £55 plus £5 postage. So not much off but its better helping a zed owner than PC world (who wont refund me)
I'll also swap for literally any zed bits you have laying around of equal value, it was a lot of money to me so I need to cheer myself up somehow.

Ah fair enough, well the needle was on properly and didnt have any sticking points when I moved it manually. I guess somethings up with the motor unit then.
-
From an archived post:
"One thing to note is that the 350z has cross-coils to move the pointers, not stepper motors! If you have the meter upside down for over 15 mins then you run the risk of the silicone inside the cross-coils running out. The silicone is used to dampen the movement of the pointers and enable a smooth operation. If the silicone runs out then the pointers will not sweep correctly and show eradic movement."
Possible culprit but google offers no advice. Guys?

No teeth its a direct drive dc motor.
Needle probably come loose on shaft or similar.
It all screws together if you want to take it apart and see..
Its all in bits, anything to look for specifically? I've moved the needle with my finger and it feels the same as the others...

No need to feel singled out.
The Team are only human and particular busy. Sometimes adds slip through the net. And Swaps are a difficult one.
A simple pic of the rear of your car with your username on a piece of paper would have more than sufficed.
Fair enough, I'll chillax a bit now. I thought I was honestly being told to get the car up on a ramp on the off chance someone wants an exhaust. Which they probably wont as its a long shot.

I feel singled out since going through the many pages of traders I see adverts with no pictures. One's even an exhaust for an exhaust, which was what I was doing.
Examples below, admittedly they're not that "new"

Given the number of for sale / swap posts that are raised every day we unfortunately do not have time to pm each respective person to say why a post has not been authorised. The rules in the T&Cs listed at the top of each section are very clear though. In this case:
These rules should be followed by buyers and sellers to ensure a smooth transaction. 350z-uk cannot take responsibility for any transactions however the Team will offer support and moderating in the event of a dispute.
* Minimum of 15 quality posts on the forum (spamming to raise your post count will not be tolerated)
* A photograph with your user name on a piece of paper with the item(s) must be posted at the time of placing the advert
* What you are willing to swap witn plus any additional price (and postage costs if applicable) should be included in the first post
* Once an offer has been accepted the seller should update the post
* All transactions should be completed swiftly and any delays should be agreed prior to completing
* The seller has the right to withdraw or refuse sale before the transaction is complete
* No Auction style sales to be carried out - that's what eBay is for. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in the for sale advert being removed.
Above all, we expect any sales to be carried out in the manner that you would wish to be dealt with. Please bear this in mind during any transactions. Buyers - non Zed cars sold here may have been mentioned on the forum before, and you may be able to do some research into the vehicle on this site, whether that bring good or bad news. If you discover information about a vehicle which differs to that posted by the seller, please inform one of the team.
Here there was no photo and no real ad to speak of.
I'm disappointed, you guys expect me to drive with no exhaust just so I can possibly swap it? Basically I can't ever use the swaps board then, unless I forfeit my car.

As the title says, I wasn't given any feedback at all and my thread hasnt been added. What's its' status, and if it was declined, why?

Courtesy bump, and another item to add:
[list]
[*]Drivers side door vent / assembly

I promised my old man I'd fix the car before I mod it...and honestly this zed must have been built by a trainee given the amount of crap that's broke in the last year! -
My analogue speedo jams every 10mph until I whack the binnacle. The digital one is fine.
Assuming something in the mechanism is missing a tooth, what's the chance of getting it repaired? Is it better just to replace it (lee?) and if so won't that mess up the cars reported mileage?
-
Are you open to offers on the y-pipe? I can collect with cash just after xmas and I'm very keen to finish my incomplete miltek system
No sorry mate I'm only selling as complete unless u want to but the Y pipe for £600
let me know if u change ur mind, I have a fair figure in mind
-
I just got a pop charger and although the black filter on it is fairly neutral against the engine bay, I'd rather have it coloured to match my theme. I read from googling that you can dye them using cleaning kits, has anyone tried it or is there a better way? Sorry for the noob question!
-
Not loud enough? I have decats on my millteks and it's verging on too loud!
this is a future mod for me (MOT on Feb 13th, decat on the 14th!) but maybe you could hint how much the noise will go up? I knew the miltek would be quiet but I was hoping it'd at least have a purr or some unique character and its rather flat. That said I have an OEM y-pipe too, which I'm desperately wanting to get rid of for the miltek one...

I just took mine off, the panel filter is almost new as it was done on my service. Not looked at any 2nd hand prices but PM me an offer
Edit - do you need the tube as well? I have that also.
