  1. Great number man and some quality mods ...... Be interested to see how you rate the quaife diff . Were you not tempted to put some final drive gears in as well?

    This is my road car so wanted to keep the final drive and not up the in gear revs .

    Will give a report on the quaife diff when I get chance to drive it .

  2. Big update time .

    On Thursday I took the car down to Abbey Motorsport for a few parts to be done .

    First up was to change the old tired camber arms

    Old

    WP_20151207_19_16_22_Pro1_zpsmklgazsj.jpg

    New Hardrace uprated adjustable units .

    WP_20151201_19_22_19_Pro1_zpshvytcnjh.jpg

    Then the rear old tow arms .

    WP_20151207_19_13_19_Pro1_zpsd0vomrux.jpg

    New Hardrace uprated adjustable units

    WP_20151201_19_23_58_Pro1_zpsezcybx55.jpg

    Then was the spring bucket replacement Hardrace uprated adjustable units .

    They replace the inboard spring bucket that are left when using true dual coilovers .

    WP_20151201_19_19_29_Pro1_zps30cgr7jr.jpg

    New lock out camber bolts as the tracking can be undone on the original camber bolts if hitting large potholes .

    WP_20151201_19_18_16_Pro1_zpsny91jly9.jpg

    Then on to the old front track rod ends .

    WP_20151207_19_15_41_Pro1_zpsl7j7gyeu.jpg

    New Hardrace uprated long shaft units .

    WP_20151201_19_21_06_Pro1_zpsvahyqwht.jpg

    Then after all of the suspension changes a full tracking session was done .

    001%209_zpsnlacsszk.jpg

    Next up was the Diff .

    The diff bush bearings were getting and were knocking and one was leaking so needed to be changed .

    Old units

    WP_20151207_19_14_50_Pro1_zpsfscmgukx.jpg

    New Whiteline bushing kit

    diff_zpsx3d1eimt.jpg

    Then on to the diff .

    The unit in the 350Z UK car is an open vicous type and the last time I did a diff oil change the unit looked a bit tired .

    After doing some reading the best plan for me was not a clutch type as it is still my road car so a Quaife ATB was put on order .

    Old Differential unit

    WP_20151207_19_10_44_Pro1_zps5v48xpte.jpg

    New Quaife ATB unit .

    M68959145%20diff_zpskcqbtfir.jpg

    Then last on the list was to change over the hi flow sport cats for some Moterdyne ART pipes .

    Old Cobra hi flow sport cats

    WP_20151207_19_11_18_Pro1_zpsfkgrpbpj.jpg

    WP_20151207_19_12_06_Pro1_zps4lls0cyt.jpg

    New Moterdyne ART pipes .

    WP_20151201_19_26_02_Pro1_zps9lczal6q.jpg

    Sound clip I will load up later but the car is still nice and quite and not too loud but give a good bark on full throttle .

    Last up was to put the car on the Hub dyno to tweek for the new ART pipes .

    VLZ_1_zpsxm1wgupk.jpg

    VLZ_2_zpswysztlsn.jpg

    I was not expecting that much improvement in power but the ART pipes gave a 11.5 BHP gain and 5 LB/FT gain so very good in the end .

    So the car is now putting out 310 BHP and around 288 LB/FT .

    Regards

    Alan

  3. The world is doing it.... Just not the UK.

    Don't want revup cams for the 340, need some very wild ones, like jwt c8 and above.

    But thank you all for highlighting why no one on this forum tunes na.

    Rather than approach it with 'interesting, no one here has managed that yet' you ridicule and shout it down.

    The 'specialists' in the UK haven't really tried the right mods in the UK yet to get power.

    Sorry but to fit cams into a 350Z motor is a lot of money , easier to do with the motor out in our opinion;

    Then if your running wild cams you need to run more compression as the static compression will be dropped as the cam is wilder; new pistons needed;

    I know Sasha when he was running his own company used to tune on a Dynapack. Used to throw idea between us. They used to use SAE conversion which will add around 10/15bhp to a bhp figure;

    Your end up with a motor with a engine with a 2000rpm power band max that will not be nice to drive at small throttle openings and low RPM's , will require rev to make it go properly;

    That's why us UK tuners always say go FI makes a more fun car easier to drive quickly on the road , but if the car is going to be a track car/race car yeah go for NA power but your also need a sequential gearbox to make the most of the narrow power band.

    I did manage to run a car on our in house dyno today and recorded Vac in the plenum , reading in Absolute KPA we saw a increase in Vac from 0 to approx 0.003 kpa at the rev limit such a small increase , my thought is it the TB or the plenum design;

    jsiSvw.jpg

    Same car recorded 270hub bhp thou pretty good number for a DE motor , circ approx 310 flywheel bhp , stock motor , headers, ART decat pipes, plenum spacer,stock airbox with velocity stack, Milltek system and a very good reamp with UPREV. a Stock DE will give around 235/240 hub bhp we have seen from all the cars we have run over the years.

    With 94 K miles on the car as well :)

  4. Any reason or link for the ban ?

    Alan

    TORQEN - www.torqen.uk has 10% OFF everything, voucher code: BLACK FRIDAY.

    Nice i didn't realize the website was live.... or that he was banned and unable to post it himself. Probably explains things :)

  5. Small update .
