  1. You'll have to cut and use the plug from your old lights. I think two of the wires on your UK car are for the headlamp levelling, if I remember correctly, so you'll lose use of them.

  2. Here's the review I did for another member a couple of weeks ago.

They are definitely good looking lights and the price is very inviting. No import charges too as they sent as $20 gift. Unfortunately they do come with problems. I've had them just over 3 years now and have been happy-ish.

I went for the CCFL halos with 8000k HIDs. The HIDs arrived as 6500K, no biggie.

When they took the light apart to install the halos and HIDs they used grey sealant on the headlight cover when returning. Tbh it's hard to notice unless looking very closely with the bonnet up but I know it's there.

The lamps are a pig to adjust and no instructions. At first it looks like the beam can't be adjusted but there are actually two 10mm bolts that look like they are holding it together.

They worked and looked perfect for about 2 1/2 years. First issue I had was condensation after washing as both covers developed very small leaks. If I'm careful though I can avoid it. Second issue is the UV protection started stripping so had to polish off and redo. Third was the left hand HID ballast giving up. Replaced both sides with upgraded HID setups for £80. And fourth was last week when one if the ballasts for the LED strip lights packed up and they started strobing. I will replace soon.

In a nutshell, they are good and bad. I've had problems but that doesn't mean you will. The ballasts could have been installed poorly and the water damage entirely my fault but the signs weren't there and the parts are not exactly quality. They do look good, modernise the car and add that extra detail but you get what you pay for which is why I can't complain too much about the problems.

Also worth noting that they only plug and play for JDM cars with a 6 pin connector. Another reason I went for them. UK cars have an 8 pin.

Hope this helps you make up your mind  I was undecided for ages before taking a punt.

  3. Definitely worth weighing up your options. I only did this because I picked up the set for nothing. They were such a state! Full rebuild of all four calipers, two helicoiled bleed nipples as they were snapped off by a garage, sprayed in Ferrari Yellow with new decals for a negotiated £465. That was 2 years ago.

Follow the link below. They have set pricing for Brembos now.

  4. Today, for the first time someone complimented my car, sort of. I was just reaching my car in the carpark and a guy comes over and asks what it is and says how nice it looks. We chat a bit and he asks what I paid for it. Now I've always wondered what the perceived value was to other people, especially with a private plate hiding the age. So I asked him what he thought, hoping for some huge number.

"One and a half" he says. I paused a little, stunned, and replied "Just over six".

A little more idle chat and off he went. Now I know my car might not be in the best nick, but on what planet is a car like this only worth a grand and a half?

£1500, wow! Now that is crazy! I've had this happen a few times now and estimates have ranged from 5k to well over 20k.

The best one was a little while back. I was approached at a garage when filling up and the chap asked exactly the same, what did you pay? Mine was £7000 and completely standard when purchased and mods, wheels excluded, have come to about 3.5k. When he saw the car it looked exactly as below but on a private plate, hiding the age. At first he thought it was a Porshe and pretty much brand new and when I said it was a Nissan and I'd had it for 5 years he still thought it was worth around 18k!

Its definitely interesting hearing what other people think. My cars been mistaken for a Porshe more times than I can count and by far the best.... a Bugatti lmao.

They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I've no doubt there are many peeps out there that would think your motor is worth 10 or more times what that guy said and many who would think our cars are scrap. I wouldn't be insulted by the valuation. Laugh it off  Nice Zed btw

Finished mmmmmm and no shiny parts, different

Haha, I did say edging closer to finished Mark :) Had to get rid of the polished plenum from you due to the Kinetix but am going to fit polished core and strut braces to make up for the missing bling :teeth:

  6. How'd you get the engine cover to fit the Kinetix? Is it using spacers?

Not seen that front bumper badge before.....

Yep, spacers. Still not a perfect fit though as the right side of the cover is slightly, a few mm, raised. Fortunately I'm not a perfectionist!

  7. How can we make the rear extenders flush with the panel? Right now my extenders are hanging out.

    Thanks

Annoying isn't it. You can cut them down but I hear the end never quite grip back on properly. Mine are cable tied flat. Not as neat as I'd like but does the trick
