He will probably be thinking... '10.5j et 5..... PFFFFFFFFFT! '

Surely I could not have done body mods first anyway as I would not have known how the wheels sat on the car, now I have the wheels I can go from there

I have been thinking of Docwra's beast throughout this thread. I can imagine that if the modified arches were removed the wheel projection would be rather similar; if not slightly prouder. Needless to say Docwra's Zed is the dogs, most probably one of the best on here - can't imagine it came cheap!
Food for thought
He has 10j ET -41 Front and 10j ET -43 Rear, thats a lot more poke! crazy!

I do not need to be reminded in every single post of yours that it looks daft, I have already admitted that ATM the rears look silly.
I like to do things differently and as my parents would say (and I admit myself) I rarely listen/try to be as independent as possible when it comes to projects etc.
Hence my first car at 18 was a 2.2 Saab, vs the usual corsa, and then my second car at 19 being the zed vs a newer corsa... (thats just a few examples)
Same can be said for my wheels I guess, did not want the usual.
How I see it now, I have a pretty nice project planned. Something I can actually put time into, work on getting it right and the end result will be spot on. It will also be a unique outcome.
Stop making it look daft then, and I'll stop mentioning it
There's being unique (I get that, as I've always gone for the non-obvious choice in cars in the past: VX vs Elise, MR2 vs MX5, convertible 350 vs coupe 350) and then there's just being stubborn and bodging things. Now, if you'd done the bodywork mods first with the principle that you'll get the wheels ASAP then I'd actually understand that, as although it would still look a bit silly with wheels that far under the arches it would've been what I would class as 'the right way round'.
Being independent doesn't always mean you have to ignore common sense. But you're only a kid, so I guess you'll learn that in time.
Anyways, you're probably right, there's no need to me to pass comment so often so I apologise for that. I wasn't being personal about it, I just struggle to see the logic in your approach is all. So what body mods are you going to do to accommodate those wheels? Will rolling alone do it, or are you going for some bolt-on extensions or a whole new wide-arch kit? The latter would look good, I think.
Springs will be the first thing, hopefully lowering by 30mm will bring them into a better position, arches will only be rolled if they have to. (which they probably will)
As I said before, rear spats to make the rear look a bit fatter, rest will just be front, side, rear diffusers.

Faaaaair enouuuugh.
Mcook, what was the reason for the spacers? Did your wheels clear the brakes without?
Only spacers on the fronts, wheel was flat on the hub but just scraped on the calliper. Could have cleared it with a 2/3mm spacer tbh.

@Grundy: And when MCook's car looks like that, it'll be fine.
Until then, it looks daft.

Sorry guys but i just don`t get the spacer thing. If your buying new wheels get the right offset for the car and do the job correctly. Spacers are not a mod, they are an incorrect solution to a problem.
If the center line of the wheel is no longer where its meant to be then it creates additional loading on the wheel bearings and can affect the handling of the car due to upsetting the geometry of the steering etc.
Had an interesting conversation with compomotive (http://www.comp.co.u...ection=ml-24-13) a while back about the price of their wheels compared to other companies like JBW (midland wheels) and the simple answer was ` ours are made to fit your car correctly, not just a generic wheel.
Says it all for me i`m afraid.
I know they can look good from a distance but up close those spacers just look wrong. Lets hope they don`t fail when cornering hard.
There is only a 5mm spacer on the front, 5mm!

Planning to drop it 30mm with rolled arches, rear spats, and carbon fibre diffusers all round!

Hello and ! I am in the Fareham/Portsmouth area!
-
If you're ordering new wheels, can't you order ones that fit? As in, with a more appropriate offset?
Nooooooooooooooo
They will not look like that for long, don't let it bother you too much!
-
Love the new alloys MC but I agree with some of the others as I think the fitment as it stands on the rear is poor at best. Wrong offset so stick out far too much past the body imo.
Be good to see how you solve your issues though and at least they fitted over the brakes calipers.
All will be well and good, give me a few weeks and I will have the rears looking as they should!

Drop it about 30mm or so and those will tuck in just fine with an arch roll and look the dogs danglies mate

If I had not posted that last image I doubt I would be getting any negative feedback
They look fine in the rest

Like I said, I do like the style and the fronts are fine, it's the rears that look silly. As Payco said, you really needed to do the body first I think.
I'm no expert, but can you even roll the arches that much to cope with those? Genuine question, it's not something I get into.
you can do but run the risk of putting a crease in it
Be better with these

Can you see any pictures at all?

What size/width are your rear wheels? and what size tyres do you have on?
18 x 10.5, with 275 35 zr18

That looks daft mate, sorry.
You don't need rolled arches, you need wheels that fit. I mean, they're a nice style and all (and I normally don't like aftermarket wheels), but they look like Lego toy wheels like that.
Each to there own, I agree that the rears look a bit out of place. I am chuffed with how the fronts look and think the rims style really suits the car.
Like I said, once I change/add a few things I think I can get them to look right.
-
I did not expect the rears to stick out as much as they do! Looks damn good from behind though!

Lets just say I will need some body mods to compliment these beasts. Pictures shortly
can you do the on photobucket this time
S***, Too late, literally posted as you said that

Jesus christtttt.... I am going to be petrified of curbs for life.
I think most of you would agree I need some body mods (rolled arches, rear diffuser, front and side diffusers) to compliment the wheels.
Also needs to be lowered a tad imo.
Will be starting a build thread shortly, also the quick fit guy has agreed to pay me in cash before I buy the wheels, so all sorted!
