Hi everyone.

Well my 5 year love affair with Zeds is finally over as Rosie left last night with her new owner.

I had intended her to be a long term keeper, but like all of us Petrolheads, I keep having my head turned by other cars that I want to own.

Maybe my new wheels will cure me of this ilness

This forum has been very special and I have met a lot of new friends and received an awful lot of knowledge from the tremendous members on here.

I hope to be able to stay in touch with the South West group and hope I will be invited to attend some of the local meets.

I have just collected my new toy , and am just blown away by it.

I would just pull the fuse and see if this solves the issue. If so replace with a blown fuse.

B****r, I was up in Nottingham this weekend and would have taken this off your hands for future use.

I will ask my bro' in law if he could collect he is in Nottingham, but not sure he can store it till I get back up, or if he can get it into his car.

Has anyone replaced the cigarette lighter socket with a USB connector?

When you put in a normal USB plug into the socket, it is so large it is at risk of being caught whenever a passenger sits in the car.

Most accessories now use a USB for power so a specific connector would seem much better.

Dicky, in the USA owners manual, where a space saver is always fitted, the redundant wheel goes behind the passenger seat when the seat is pushed fully forward.

Best to get a wheel cover that fits the rear wheels or just a big black bin liner to keep everything clean.

5 cars seen over the last week in Weymouth, heck we are getting common.

1)Grey Roadster EX05 parked on Preston Road opposite doctors surgery.

2) Bababongles car on the Link Ind Est

3) Whilst we were parked close to Bababongles car another 350 turned up, a silver GT with Nismo stickers. Not a forum member yet but I tried to convince him and as he is looking to upgrade to a 370 opens up his options. Unfortunately before I could give him a sticker a seagull decided to deposit its whole internals all over my car, so I had to dash off to clean it all off.

4)Today NG07 parked at the COOP Preston Road.

5) Within a minute ND04 another Grey driving down Preston Road.

I use a 64GB micro USB, it is tiny and fits into the USB port in the centre arm rest cubby.

You can then sort music on it as you wish and it comes up on the screen.

Sorry, apart from main dealers I don't know anyone in the South/West.

Interesting... I have had the total opposite outcome. Looked at a M135i but thought it wasn't special enough to get rid of my 350z for. (Ended up with an XKR)

Fully agree the M135i cannot be compared to an XKR, but that is it, they both cover very different markets very well.

For us an XKR would be totally impractical we were looking for a different type of car as I guess Robchriscross was.

The M135i is only a replacement for my wifes 118d.

We need a load lugger that has to fit in a dog and all its bits, 2 sets of golf clubs, enough clothes for 6 months and about 30 pairs of my wife's shoes, for our winter 6 months and then drive all the way to Southern Spain, whilst also being small enough for my wife to drive to the shops around the small Dorset lanes.

Then on the return from Spain in addition, also be able to carry 60 bottles of fine Spanish wine back to the UK for our summer needs

An XKR could never do that, in fact from a fuel perspective we would spend so much time filling the car up on the trip down to Spain we would need a mortgage. Our friend sold one, it was always in the garage.....just filling up!

Back to the M135i, we just wanted to update and upgrade.

Then it comes down to value for money.

We now have a BMW AUC 326BHP load lugger, with a superb 8 speed auto box, coral red leather which certainly improves the feeling of the car inside. A 14 month old car, with 12,000 miles, brand new tyres fitted by BMW and serviced, all for a smidgen over £22K

That for me is a pretty good "Bang for your Buck" as they say.

It will not replace either Rosie or my 1968 Pagoda but it will be a hard choice when I open the garage as to which to take out, whether the sun is shining or not will probably be the rule

Great story, but wow £400 for parking sensors, our local guy that fits them has quoted me colour coded at £120 fitted?
