The Golf R is now 296 bhp from 2 litres. Rated best HH ever by many journos.
4.9 to 60 with the twin clutch.
My pal's stock A45AMG does it n 4.3 on a good day.
From 1991cc!!
That is Lamborghini Gallardo territory.

Forget it. Mis-read a quote. Doh!
-
VXR and Mini Cooper S, same engine?
-
Corsa VXR a quick car. Celtic Tuning get that little 1.6 to put out 250 bhp. Proper fast then.
-
The S1 has a very tall 7th gear so 50 mpg may well happen on a long run. My Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.4 (180bhp) did late 40s on a run.
-
The S1 might just make a nice Megane 265 basher, once the tuners get them up to 300bhp.
-
The 370Z, performance-wise is no big leap over the last 350. Just 17 bhp extra is the reason.
But as I found out recently, side by side, the 370Z is infinitely better and raunchier.
I was stunned at how many improvements there are. I do like the 7 speed 'box as well, which combined with more mid-range grunt makes it a quicker real roads car.
-
The S1 is 4WD.
To be quicker to 60 (and 80) than a 350Z is a big achievement. It's a luxurious 4-pot Supermini which does 50mpg!
-
This morning. Audi S1. Blooming heck, that went quick! 2014 car.
Just Googled. AH!
230 bhp stock in a very small car. Forgot they were that pokey.
-
Alroma do you like the earlier stuff too, say 1968-1981? (The shape changed big time for the 1983 car).
-
How do I easiest place a photo of the car here?
-
The front view is fantastic, as good as any Ferrari. The side view is it's least attractive angle. The rear view is great.
The only downside is LHD.
-
NGK Iridium are on E Bay at £72 a set. Good purchase?
-
The new one is a different beast and very expensive here. Smaller, supercharged engine. This one is over 7 litres but revs to 7,000 rpm!
-
That Z06 has dry sump lubrication, titanium rods, forged pistons, forged steel crank, carbon panels, composite floor of plastic and balsa wood, all sorts of weight-saving stuff and the engine is really a unique and great mix of ancient OHV, 2v per cylinder technology and modern race design.
I loved it. It was like my 370Z on steroids. Same kinda shape too.
-
Does anyone know the correct Denso plug for the 370Z?
-
Spend £35,000 on a 2011 Cayman S instead.
Way better quality, much better engine, better daily driver, much more load space, great residuals, better car.

4C as a daily??? OMG.
-
My 550 needed 4 tyres, 2 services and a headlamp unit in over 12,000 miles of ownership.
It was utterly reliable.
But high-ish running costs are offset by zero depreciation.
Alfas lose you hundreds a WEEK in depreciation as a rule.

It was a Corvette Z06, so very well done to those who got that.
I have had quite a few American cars, but this was magic. What an engine. 7011cc. Much of the motor is race-spec as std.
9 out of 10 for fuel on a run is correct. Just 1400 kgs, a very low drag coefficient and a humungous 6th gear means 28mpg on a run. That is ace for 505bhp.
Gearing is long. 55/85/120/155/190 at redline in gears 1-5. 6th is 100 mph/2,400 rpm.

Civic 2.2TD. Celtic Tuning remap to 180 bhp and 300 lbs. Sorted.
-
CS, how often would you change them, ideally?

Bosch plugs did my 996 turbo no harm.
Can't see why they would make a 350/370 run poorly?
Ever seen a car and thought...never thought they were that quick!

S1 is Polo size. 230 bhp. But 284 lbs!
That's a lot.
