  1. Ouch! geez that was bad luck, sorry to hear that. All I know is that it has never been replaced and has covered 57k miles. it feels fine. All 4 Zeds I have driven have a high biting point so I can't go on that either. I might get an oil change and an inspection at MOT time in a month from now.
  2. That would be good. The rest of the seat is perfect. Im itching to drive it i can imagine, its great getting a new car, make sure you get the remote control for the sat nav Yes! its attached to the centre console cradle Is the sat nav any good by the way? Can you use to screen for anything else?
  3. That would be good. The rest of the seat is perfect. Im itching to drive it
  4. interesting.. I got bad results handling wise in the past when changing wheels from stock. Did you get them in the same dimentions as the standard wheels?
  5. cheers! will give Oxted trimmers a call and get a quote. i guess the hardest thing will be trying to match the rest of the leather. I know I have missed Japsfest this year.. any other big meets/shows coming up?
  6. Cheers guys! Yes a stubby and some new wheels! I would like to get the bolster repaired as its the only thing that lets the interior down. Do you think i should get it repaired or look for a second hand seat?
  7. Hi all, After 3 weeks of searching every day... I found 'the one' Bodywork is excellent, inside is perfect apart from the drivers side inside bolster is showing wear. Everything works eletrically, drives very nicely.. better than the other 3 Zed's that I tried. It came with the original bill of receipt too. It states the Sat nav was a £1350 addition! crazy! For sat nav?! Full service history. 2 keys plus the Master key. Blutooth kit and parking sensors fitted too. All tyres are Potenza's and have plenty of tread. The last service was a P3. Clutch has never been changed. I did the 10mph 4th gear & foot down test and it isn't slipping. Tons of pad left on the front calippers. CD doesnt skip (except on sub zero wintery mornings). MOT next month. Tax due in August. The car is completely standard.. a blank canvas for future mods Cant wait to pick it up later! 2005 / GT / 57k Miles Got it for 6,750
  8. Keep looking mate, don't jump in and buy a binger!! Your in no rush so time is on your side. Cheers pal, if you lived closer I would have bought yours by now!
  9. thanks for the advice on pricing. Your right. I will keep an eye on the classifieds here. Im in no major rush
  10. It seems trade prices are at least 1.5k over private sales. I guess I need to hold out for a private sale.
  11. Well, I found 2 for sale. 1. 05 Grand Turismo 4 in black, 77k miles up for 8995 2. 04 Non GT, manual seats, 34k miles up for 8495 The garage owner just gave me the keys for both and said 'go for it. So I did I walked away with out buying either. The body work was a little tatty. Engine bay struts had more rust than clean metal. Wheels were all corroding near where they wheel needs the discs. Lots of corrosion on the block/head, more than you would expect. Looks like she has never been garaged. A few big blobs of touch up paint on the bonnet 'shudder' But.. hardly any dents. straight bodywork, no ripples or big door dents. Interior - imaculate. Bad points; 1. Paintwork is a little tatty and lots of corrosion on engine etc 2. Found a leak in the rear section of the exhaust (under the boot area) 3. Engine light was on (who knows what the problem is here) 4. She was stuttering when flooring it, reminder me of 'safe mode' in my old MR2 turbo 5. Air bag warning light on The SIlver one; 1. The cloth non electric seats 2. Air bag warning light on Apart form that it is really clean and feels well looked after. I just couldnt love it because of the colour and cloth interior. Big difference in sound between the bose and the basic stereos too. (I know you dont buy a car for its stereo but the GT4 having all the toys made the non GT model seem bland inside). Shame as it felt like a 3 year old car. So I know I have to have a GT model now. I am going to hold out until I can find an 04 or 05 plate tin top GT with under 50k miles in either sunset or black. I have driven 3 now so I know what to expect performance wise. I have seen a load go up for sale this week so I am hopeful!
  12. Mine was £154 for 6 months the lower rate of tax, the higher rate is £260 or something like that. Pete Right OK, i will look out for a pre 2006 Z in that case - thanks
  13. addisj

    350Z wanted

Preferably a GT but not essential under 70k miles Any colour other than silver Tin top with in 1.5 hrs drive from CR8 5AR thanks
  14. Im thinking the same. I have searched ALOT of sites and I cant find one that I would consider seeing. If some of the cars on Trade Link were priced 750 or so less I would be tempted. But even then..
  15. Plenty more out there if you're settling for a silver one. it has missed a P3 and is due it. The fans are on their way out. He let Halfrauds MOT it - which means they'll probably have put it on a rolling road to test the brakes How did it pass its MOT if it needs new fronts and one of the pads is so worn you noticed it - only one wearing also indicates something is amiss. W-A-L-K-A-WA-Y! I would much prefer a black, white, copper or blue one tbh. tin top too. Bah.. looking is so much work! everything I have found is priced too highly! I suppose at least I have driven one now. I will just have to wait and keep an eye out.
  16. thanks for the good advice guys your right.. It will need a service, 2 front tyres, one break pad possibly so thats both front ones that will need doing, new fan possibly, tax. Oh he said 6 months tax was 180 quid - same as my type r. Hard to let it go as the mileage is so low. It isnt a GT either..
  17. Interesting.. I might be able to knock some money off. How much are they new from a good fellow such as yourself?
  18. Right I went to see the car. Points made; The good; Drives nicely, all gears feel fine even from cold. Hood is perfect All P1 and P2 services up until 1.5 years ago / 3k miles The bad; Both front tyres dont have much tread left Front left brake pad is very low tax runs out this month Oil looked low when checking the dip stick. Last bad point.. he had it MOT'd today and it passed. When I saw the car I noticed green coolant dripping under the rad area. i asked him about it and this is what he said; The Halfords MOT garage said they had it running during the MOT checks and it overheated/coolant bubbled up from the reservoir. Apparently the service guy said 'drive it around for 20 mins or so and it should be fine' and gave no more info. Wierd... It didn't over heat while i was there out on the test drive or while it was idling. The fan comes on OK, I checked that. He seems to have taken care of it, all receipts state owner supplied oil - fully synthetic. Thoughts?
  19. Oh the joys of youth........ Some of the most knowledgeable owners in the Surrey area, are as your statement above. (there are a couple of owners who are 'a bit' older, but they drive like grannies ) [actually few people can catch them, must be because they are rushing to the loo ] heh.. Im late 30's (not exactly a spring chicken lol) and the way I drove in my 20's makes me cringe. So I MUCH prefer to buy from mature sellers. So my comment is a selling plus point. will check out the classifieds cheers guys Ooops its actually a 2006 not 2005. Would you say thats an OK price for an 06?

  21. Yes I know, I am spontaneous as it is, but I literally got a call from my garage explaining how my Type R is toast. I only had 2 cars in mind to replace it. 350Z and a Focus ST. The focus isnt really me.. I have always loved the 350z's.... I read above that this is a little over priced. All the others I have found on ebay and autotrader are over 8k and have more miles?!?
  22. Lol I have heard they are quite beastly! The owner is in his 50's, they only take it out on special occasions. Otherwise it lives in a garage. Apparently the roof has no leaks.. but I know you always get the odd drip from most soft tops when its bucketing it down. He said he will get the MOT done too before the sale. Hasn't had a service in 12 months but has only covered 3k miles in that time.
  23. I haven't no.. are the tin tops really that different in terms of feel and weight?
  24. Hi all, I know very little about 350z's. My Type R died on me so I need to buy another car pronto. The car is question is a Non GT, 2005 soft top with 30k miles on the clock. 7,450 Condition looks good from the pics, the odd stone chip, rimmed alloys. no dents, always been garaged and fully sythetic oil used since 2006. What do you guys think?
