  1. The scorpion which was one my Zed when I bought it didn't melt the bumper. I've now got a CF diffuser on there too, which sits even closer to the tips (without touching) but hasn't caused any melting. Are your tips actually touching the bumper?

Carbon fibre won't melt, it will burn however

  2. Been doing 360 miles a week for work in the zed while getting an average of 24mpg, this is across motorway, A road, B road and some town driving. So around £95 for that, plus my mileage on the weekend as well.

It will be going up to 600miles a week next week, so for the job I have bought a 1.9tdi seat to motorway munch and save the zed. Officially a weekend and evening car!

  3. the point of excess camber is stupid people made well looking at pirteks vectra with half the tires on the road proves excess camber isnt totally pointless

Please learn to use punctuation, I literally have no idea what you are on about here.

I did say agree to disagree, but instead you have taken the "behave like a wounded child approach".

On that note, I'm bored with this thread, ciao.

  4. People hanging out at a multistory car park with ridiculous camber and a car built for racing are hardly the same thing, so why not just leave it there and agree to disagree

  5. They aren't your cars, I doubt any of the owners are going to cry that I don't like them. If someone said they think my car looks retarded, or @*!#, or pointless because of a mod I have made, that's up to them, I won't shed any tears. If someone adds some crazy camber like those pictured I would imagine they are used to people having a strong opinion, good or bad about it.

  6. Get over it already, the cars look rubbish like that in "my opinion", it's not disrespectful, I don't have to like something because someone tells me, I can appreciate the work gone into them, the fact I don't like the end result is here nor there.

  7. I did clarify that I was referring to the cars running excessive camber, not all stanced cars, everyone is entitled to an opinion, as are you, its not important if we share opinions as we all like different things.

To call me and others here uneducated is a little silly and very defensive

  8. I should clarify as I'm not a huge modder! Lowered and spacered looks good, its the camber that gives it the retarded look. The rear wheels look like the suspension has collapsed,

The black zed you put up looks amazing.

  9. Never really looked into stanced cars before, but upon viewing those threads I have come to the conclusion they mostly look retarded....

When done subtly it sort of works, but most there look rediculous.

Maybe I just don't "get" it.

  10. I emailed JRC earlier in Fareham about having my bumper and bonnet sprayed to remove the stone chips and he quoted £500 plus vat, so £600. That would be with blending in the wings, so any stone chips there would be repaired also.

Quite steep but they were recommended on here a while back as doing a perfect job.

Trying to find somewhere a little closer to Bristol though if I can.

  11. It is the Mines CF lip (RT used it to make copies from), it wasn't cheap hence RT making copies.

This is pretty much where it is at now bar changing brakes and tyres http://www.350z-uk.c...en-all-to-easy/

The film cost about £1k (front bumper, bonnet, both wings and wing mirrors and front lip), it is the xpel film. There are others I'm sure that could be got/done for less. My logic was the stone chips would annoy my ocd especially on a black car. If you are keeping the car at least 2 or three years then it is worth it, if not then it is not cost effective. But when do mods ever make financial sense :surrender:

    Absolutely mint

  12. I've not had any problems with a difference in shine or gloss. The front end is covered in this pic and it was on 6 months when that was taken.

    It's not the cheapest though.

Nice, what front lip is that?? Also do you have any more pictures of your car? My wheels need a refurb and I'm interested in seeing bronze rays on a black car!

I was thinking of getting my front bumper repsrayed as well due to stone chips, how much does the film set you back?

  13. I have an e39 Bmw 540i sport, 4.4l v8, it's also a sports exhaust from the cat back, it is world's and bounds ahead of my zed in sound terms. I wouldn't say the zed sounds anything like my v8. Not heard a rover v8 however so.

I am actually finding the zed a little under whelming, I love how it looks, the handling is sharp enough, steering is great, but I find it lacks a bit of punch and doesn't sound that amazing unless you are on wot.

I know an exhaust will sort the sound part, so it would just be the power to sort after, but that's big money to go FI.

Hmm I don't know, I'm pondering at the moment with what to do.

  14. Cars

    1993 Rover Metro 1.1s - I know epic first car....was a pile of horse @*!# but I loved it

    1995 Bmw 325 coupe

    2000 Ford Mondeo 2l

    1998 Mitsubishi Galant 2.5l v6

    2000 Lexus is200

    2000 Bmw 540i sport

    2007 Nissan 350z

    Bikes

    2001 Honda cbr600f sport

    2003 zx6r b1h

    1993 cb250

2005 zx10r - sold 8 weeks ago, sort of regretting it now

1999 zx7r - owned for near 5 years and still have it

Not exactly sports car history, on the whole, car wise, the nissan 350z is the fastest car I have owned, though the 540i isnt far behind. But to be honest I have long concluded that it will take a bloody fast motor to impress me being used to bikes. The zx10r is a missile and anything short of a nissan gtr will probably fail to give me the same rush.

  15. Also the fact that when you advertise, its likely people will notice some of the issues themselves and it will look like a neglected car. May as well fix it all and enjoy it knowing that those issues are sorted for the foreseeable future?
