Just after a bit of advice from those in the know before I go fault finding. Removed my door panel, removed and re-sprayed the plastic window switch panel. When I re-assembled it the window won't work. The wiring all looks fine, just wondering if I've taken out a fuse? Anyone know where the fuse is located? Driver's side window is working fine, passenger window won't work when operated from the driver's side either.

Some orange rimblades would look good

I know, went for a drive this afternoon, the front and the windscreen is covered in squished bugs
-
Yea, I think i'd rather leave it in the garage playing with the spiders than let someone I dont know and trust drive her, plus all that extra mileage and it would most likely get driven hard all the time too.

It did highlight all the work thats required, the bodywork is in much worse condition than I thought it was. A new front and rear bumper may be required....which one's though?? The alloys are also in dire need of a refurb. Zeditis I think is inevitable, maybe they add the disease to the A/C in the factory?? As for the engine bay... I think thats a job for another day, I foresee lots of cut up knuckles cleaning inside there properly

Got an early start this morning and finished her off. Treated her to: TBW Meguiars 3 step, clean, polish and wax. Hot rims alloy clean. Hotshine tyre spray. Perfect clarity glass cleaner. Quik interior detailer cleaner. Gold class real leather cleaner/conditioner. Final result This is the first car I've owned that I've loved and this is the first time I've hand washed a car since I was about 13 washing my dad's car for pocket money. Its the first time I've ever polished and waxed a car. Pretty happy with it for my first attempt

See what they say, then if they offer no resolution go to trading standards. Best of luck to you, I hope you get the refund and find the car you were looking for in the first place

And when you do find yourself in this situation you are protected by law. Thats why these laws are there, to protect clueless buyers.

I keep seeing in this thread, "should have done more research". This is really annoying me, I know people wanna play devil's advocate but this is simply not true, at all, ever. No offense intended Matt, but if a mentally handicapped person buys a car are they expected to research and know the specifics of the car?? NO Getting the specifics of the car right is 100% the dealers responsibility No if's, buts or maybes. If the car is NOT AS ADVERTISED it has been mis-sold. It makes no difference what the V5 says, it makes no difference what anything else says, if the car is not as advertised it was mis-sold. Simple. Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Dealers must also comply with the requirements of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (2008), which prohibit them from engaging in unfair business practices across five main categories: Giving false information either verbally, visually or in writing, for example misrepresenting the vehicle's specification or history at any time before, during or after the transaction. Giving insufficient information - leaving out or hiding important information for example not disclosing the existence and results of all checks carried out on the vehicle's mechanical condition, history and mileage or failing to draw your attention to the key elements of any warranty e.g. what's covered, claim limits and conditions to be followed. Acting aggressively for example using high pressure selling techniques to sell a vehicle or associated finance or warranty. Failing to act in accordance with reasonable expectations of what's acceptable Banning outright of 31 specific practices including: falsely claiming to be a signatory to a Code of Practice; falsely claiming to be approved, endorsed or authorised by a public or private body; falsely stating that a vehicle will only be available for a very limited time in order to elicit an immediate decision to buy.

I think its much more clear cut than that. As far as I'm aware there were only 3 different 350z Coupe's released in the UK. One called the 350z, one called the 350z 300 and one called the 350z 313. If the Uk's biggest and best 350z specialists can't figure out the difference between the 3 then it's time pack in.

No you don't (I don't work at a VW dealer). Your individual dealership may offer that service (why?!), but there's no legal framework that states that. Unless you have a copy of the advert, which states clearly that it was a 300 model, then you're on a hiding to nothing here unless the dealer has a sense of honour and integrity. It'd be your word against his in court, on the balance of probabilities. You may get lucky, but you may not. Someone posted the advert earlier, it definitely says in the header of the advert: NISSAN 350 Z 3.5 V6 300 GT 3dr Coupe Regardless of whether they knew they were wrong or not it is their BUSINESS to know what car they are selling. They are in the wrong and this car was mis-sold. Edit: Hell they even claim in the advert to be: "the UK's biggest and best Nissan 350z and 370z specialists"

Got the parts I required from ZManAlex and I've decided to have a go at spraying the scratched up parts. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the info guys, painting the door switch covers looks straight forward enough, I'll get on that soon enough. I'll PM Alex and see if he has the parts I need, Vlad had already sold his door vents
