  1. These extremist tutors must really have a persuasive skill set, if they can convince somebody to commit such atrocities. Imagine if they set their motives on selling PPI, or cars. They would be unstoppable.

Either that or they met the equivalent of 'Waj'. Did you see his fathers interview with the reporters following the incident? It was as if he wasn't bothered in the slightest his son had died.

  2. Me and my brother share a lot about cars via WhatsApp, Il admit when I was in London a few weeks ago I did snap a few photographs on my phone to sent/ share with him.

I was at a supercar event where the public could do a few laps of a runway in a supercar and my brother wanted to have a go in a lamborghini aventador so I took him there in the zed.

The wait was two hours before he could have a go so we were sat in my car eating an ice cream and this kid comes over and peers through the window, he asks what kind of car it was and asked if I'd rev it so I did.

He asks if he can take some pics and I say yes and get out the car so I'm not in his way. He took about 80, literally. Of non concerning items such as the rear wiper! All while his mum stood and watched. He must've been about 18?

I was going to offer for me to take his pic inside the car but I was getting a bit cold standing around and wanted to get back inside. Quite funny that day.

  3. Seagulls are the worst, especially up where I work. There is a McDonald's close by and the seagulls and crows eat leftover fast food. They even get it out from the bins.

This combination leads to monstrous sized bird splatters all over nearby cars. Oozing with uric acid etching its way through the clear coat on your car.

There are two 'types' if you will of bird lime stains.

Stain etching and more serious fractured /wrinkled etching. Have a look below.

    https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/30535-how-long-does-take-bird-dropping-etch-paint.html

If you happen to be unfortunate enough to have this happen to you for the most part, these can be removed with a good polish light heat from a heat gun or hair dryer (not too close as you will burn the paint).

If this fails or you have fractured/ wrinkled etching you need to break out the big guns. In most cases it's fubared, however you can sometimes get off with sanding using 3000 grit and polishing the surface back up. With fractured etching there's a good chance you will go through the clear coat before its completely gone. Bird lime really does eat in deep.

I'm pretty sure heat accelerates the etching, so make sure you wash your cars off before it bakes on!!

Hope I haven't terrified you all

  4. I had actually finished cleaning and drying off my car a few weeks ago too, when I went back inside to get tyre black and came back out and a big artistic splatter right across the bonnet!

Just as this happened guests arrived at my house and I got told off by o/h for ignoring them lol

  5. You guys are right, there isn't a lot that can be done, politics won't fix any of this. This is mostly a home grown threat. Closing the borders won't get rid of the radicals breeding readily within. Kind of like a virus or infection within your body.

  6. Honestly, I know people will disagree here... Whichever is cheapest. Provided you can prove the particular exhaust you have is approved for road use.

'exhaust system changes' and 'aftermarket exhaust system approved for road use' may well both be applicable. But you may only be able to select one.

What you should do, what I do, once you are redirected to the insurers website, check through the policy the comparison site has quickly and automatically populated and read the terms and conditions and make sure there's nothing that can be misinterpreted.

I worked in an insurance brokers years ago and I had no idea why people came through the broker when there were comparison sites which usually offered much cheaper, like-for-like alternatives.

I understood why an elderly person may want a broker to talk to and relay their info, as they may not be tech savvy or want a middleman to mitigate blame should anything be wrong!

I understand why corporate or agricultural businesses want a broker... But for the average Joe... It baffled me. Needless to say I didn't really like working there with the likes of Nora Batty and products I didn't believe in.

  7. Comparison sites and a bit fiddling is the way forward. 26y/o with 8yr ncb paying £304 a year on the zed. Exhaust declared. With AXA this year, who knows who Il change to next year. I did buy a house in the nicer part of town but not sure it made a lot of difference.

Do they even ask how long you've owned the car? I can't recall.

I remember laughing at a post an old member posted a while back called J4CKO. About how he created an imaginary woman named Claire to go onto his insurance as she lowered it by x amount per year. I don't know the technicalities of doing this but it did make me laugh.

Iv got the other half on as she drops it significantly. But only when relationship changed to civil partner/ cohabiting.

I'm a scrimper and pay in full and usually three weeks in advance, that saves a little bit too.

  8. It's certainly pointed out cars which have been written off. But as with everything, if it's not declared as a write off, nobody (including HPI) will know it was a write off.

It's only when you get it on the ramps can you see its been in an accident. Most cars have had paintwork in their lifetime and providing its been fixed up, cosmetically you may never know what it's been involved in until you delve into it. By which time it may be too late, granted.

  9. I had similar issue with clutch stuck down when doing a 1/4 mile on an airfield. Smelt for about a day. I had boiled my clutch fluid and it was a dark colour. So changed clutch and brake fluid and so far it hasn't happened again.

But then again I haven't been racing on an airfield lately.. It's been about 6+ month with no problems after the change.

Chris Drift on YouTube also experienced this clutch stuck down last week while drifting. It's a common thing on the zed unfortunately.

  10. I work within the motor industry and use Experian. However I'm not sure how much this costs to the public. Should also give you CAP & Glass price guides with the check.

Shows if finance outstanding, if classified as insurance write off, car stats, previous plates assigned to the vehicle, fuel economy, cap & glass price guides, no of owners etc etc
