So what's been happening recently...
I've now got the engine stripped down as far as I can before I send it away to get fully rebuilt with forged internals and 2.8 stroker kit 😈
Today is going to be cutting off awd diff from the sump so it's just rwd and getting it all welded up.
Also got this for the other half the other day as a belated xmas present

Some minor scratches but I've got a dye kit that I acquired that I'll send out with them also.

Thanks for all the posts/PM's and offers guys. Just to update I picked up a Zed yesterday, 2004 GT spec, 90k miles, Kuro black and orange leather. Got it down in Edinburgh so fairly local...
The guy I bought it off of mentioned he bought it from a guy near Birmingham about two years ago? Apparently he's on here? Also had an azure?
Anyways thanks guys, build thread on the way!
Looking forward to perhaps seeing some faces at meets in the future and getting to know you all on here!
Mods can lock, thanks ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
Look forward to seeing it on the roads of Aberdeen.

It's the trend though isn't it. Big kit, wheels, wrap and not worry about the performance etc. I mean look at all those vag cars. Wrap and wheels.
People at shows aren't going to care about how ur headlights look just that it's got a crazy kit, wrap, wheels and probably air.

What's the logic on single vs twin turbo?
More space, keep temperatures down, easier to work on. Single turbos have came on so in much in the years.
Years ago singles were really laggy and only really good for big hp but not so much the case now.
Pretty much this YouTube video made me decide to go single rather than standard twins

Seems the beloved Michelin pilot super sport is getting discontinued and the Michelin pilot sport 4 s is taking its place

Yeah, I guessed that you were after pre owned.
May have a pre owned MotorDyne 5/16 plenum spacer in stock, let me check that for you.
Pre owned DC sports DE headers in stock.
MotorDyne pre owned Test pipes in stock, unfortunately HR.
Sorry, no Bluetooth stuff.
Send a pm with some details if you're wanting to get rid of the spacer and headers quickly? I'll be looking out for some decats or HFC's if there's some out there!
Thanks
I don't have any of the above but most of the stuff under the bonnet is available.
Polished plenum, polished throttle body, polished engine harness cover.
Are you looking to get rid of the polished plenum? Did want to do this to mine as it sets the engine bay off quite nicely!
Yeah...swap and cash my way

Not much of an update other than the stripping of the rb26 has began.
Just trying to get it to a bare state so then I can decide how deep I'm going to go into it.
So far it's looking like the plan is going to forged internals, port and polishing, uprated cams, single turbo and many other uprated parts

I'm from Aberdeen and my zed hasn't any body rust. All depends if it's been kept beside the coast or no I imagine.
Also I guess the councils go over board with salt at winter...hence why I put mine away for winter

Can I just ask if anyone knows the 0- 60 difference by using it.......
And what difference in £ to insurance...... went out in bobs and have to say really really impressed,
Doesn't make any difference to 0-60 as it just tricks the ecu to think you've pushed the throttle more than you actually have.

He is on here somewhere but can't remember his name. Check the Scotland zed members maybe

Them lights look nuts. Where did you get them?
Standard facelift lights that have been modified.

Nice, I do love my R33, got about 385bhp atm which is plenty for me. What engine upgrades are you doing, be very interested to know
So far some of mods planned for the engine are
Tomei oil pump
Nismo water pump
Tomei poncams
Injectors 1000c
Arp head studs
Metal head gasket
Baffled oil sump
Rwd conversion
Borg warner single conversion
Top mount turbo manifold
This alone should strengthen the parts that are prone to go and help me get a healthy 500whp
Very nice! Are you on any of the gtr forums? Might be worth joining one.
Yeah I'm on the gtr forum...always waiting for some decent parts to pop up for the build.
Gonna be a long and painful journey :/

Just seen this, good luck dude. It's a journey in itself. What's the usage on the RB?
I would direct you to a page I'm on via facebook which has been the source of a lot of information during my swap. Although it's purely a LS page, but there's got to be something else out there for added support if needed.
Cheers wasso.
The rb26 came from a from someone I knows well looked after r33 gtr that sadly got written off last year. Only has about 50k miles on it and pretty standard.
This isn't going to be a quick build in anyway as I'm wanting to get it done just right with upgrading lots of parts in the engine.
I've found someone in the states that's done the swap himself so been firing questions to him so far. If I need any advice though I'll get in touch.

If they are ready for the car when you arrive I can't see it being more than 2 hours and the. For the alignment I'd say another hour maybe.
Good to make sure everything is moving freely for the alignment. The longer it takes them to free up rusted bolts etc the longer and more expensive it becomes.
