  1. Hey Guys, I have 2004 350z with 72k Miles. There has been a rattling/knocking noise on my passenger side and slight vibrations can be felt when I have someone in the car with me. It seems to be mainly on un-even road surfaces and at low speeds. After reading the forum, I expected that it was the Compression rod (Banana Arm) or the bushes. So I booked it into my local mechanic and hoped for the best. However the mechanics took it for a spin and clearly heard the noise but whenever the car was on the ramp, everything apparently seemed fine, bushes, control arm, compression arm, shocks, ball joints, etc. With no movement whatsoever. The mechanic suggested that I drive it for another while and wait for it to get worse so it could be easier to diagnose or potentially book it into Nissan to have a look at, instead of purchasing a number of unnecessary parts. I have read that it is also undetectable to realise its the banana arm, so is it most likely it is that? One of the employees suggested it could maybe be the steering rack and another say maybe a shock? I can get a banana arm with a 12 month warranty online for £75 so should I just give it a try? A friend has also recommended a Nissan Specialist who does all the work on his R35 GTR who is 15 miles away to see if they could identify the problem! Thanks for the help!
  2. Hey thanks for the reply! I only have one fob as the previous owner lost the other one
  3. Hey Guys, Over the last two days I have had some trouble with my key fob - I need to be right up beside my car (within 3 meters) just to TRY and get a response when locking or unlocking. Also when it does lock or unlock, I am having to wait another 10 seconds before I can press it again to get it to unlock again... this is a nightmare when trying to double click to open both doors to allow a passenger in This lead me to believe that maybe I just need to change the key battery however at a 2am McDonalds run for the guys, I noticed that my drivers window was slow going down (Could of just been me being paranoid about the car electrics). Anybody else have similar problems? Could a new key fob battery sorted it out? Also I read after the battery has been replaced, it needs to be reprogrammed, is this hard to do?? Any help would be much appreciated, I have Uni tomorrow and its one of the last places I want my car to be stuck! Thanks
  4. Welcome to the forum Bought my Zed around 10 months ago, was totally shocked with insurance as well. Only 20 years old and got quoted £1100 fully comp for first time insurance in my name :o Enjoy!
  5. Hey Mate, Welcome to the forum! I'm from Belfast as well, where abouts you from? Hopefully see you around in a Zed soon
  6. Looks a lot better with the rays
  7. Welcome! As Algii said, I would defiantly recommend getting a GT version. I moved from my first car, a 1.6 astra to a 350z! Big jump but you will love it.
  8. Hey guys, I got my Zed a few months ago and since I got it I noticed that RARELY the passenger window would go a third of the way down by itself when I either locked the car or closed the passenger door. Now it has got really bad when I close the passenger door, the window goes up a tiny bit as normal but then would drop a 1/3 of the way down. Its becoming a real pain in the backside. I read on here about people replacing the motor or just resetting it? Anybody else have this problem and were you able to fix it? Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the replies! Was close between the Black and Azure blue but just fell in love with the black. Ha, in terms of insurance, Im orginally from Belfast were I was quoted £5000ish for insurance :/ But got it for around £1000 in Stirling Actually going to book it in for a service on Monday from a garage around the corner, hopefully wont break the bank. Phoned nissan to enquire and they said if I needed additional work such as Spark Plugs, they are an additional £200... Complete robbers. Defiantly stick to my good local mechanics.
  10. Hey, my first post on here.. I'm 20 years old and just moved to Stirling for University, so thought I would treat myself for getting into University and take advantage for the cheap insurance so bought myself a Zed which I have loved for years. Bought myself a 2004 Black 350z GT with the full Nismo kit which completely sets the car off. After owning it for a couple of months, still love it every time I sit in it! Big difference from the 1.6 Astra haha. Was a bit tricky in the bad weather at first but getting use to it. Defiantly an eye catcher and get plenty of attention, I know I have made the right choice between the Zed, VXR and Type R. Any general tips, maintenance or things to look out for? Thanks
  11. I just purchased my 350z a few days ago.... finally could insure one with elephant! £1100 fully comp and breakdown cover for a 20 year old male without any no claims bonus! Completely fell in love with my Zed already
