Hey Guys,
I have 2004 350z with 72k Miles.
There has been a rattling/knocking noise on my passenger side and slight vibrations can be felt when I have someone in the car with me. It seems to be mainly on un-even road surfaces and at low speeds.
After reading the forum, I expected that it was the Compression rod (Banana Arm) or the bushes.
So I booked it into my local mechanic and hoped for the best. However the mechanics took it for a spin and clearly heard the noise but whenever the car was on the ramp, everything apparently seemed fine, bushes, control arm, compression arm, shocks, ball joints, etc. With no movement whatsoever. The mechanic suggested that I drive it for another while and wait for it to get worse so it could be easier to diagnose or potentially book it into Nissan to have a look at, instead of purchasing a number of unnecessary parts.
I have read that it is also undetectable to realise its the banana arm, so is it most likely it is that? One of the employees suggested it could maybe be the steering rack and another say maybe a shock? I can get a banana arm with a 12 month warranty online for £75 so should I just give it a try?
A friend has also recommended a Nissan Specialist who does all the work on his R35 GTR who is 15 miles away to see if they could identify the problem!
Thanks for the help!
