For non-specialist but good knowledge of Japanese modified cars, try AC Mechanical and Thames Valley MOTs. The owners have had a string of RX-7's including a triple rotor track car that they're building and 350Z's, 200SX, etc etc etc.
I know Dave and Alan well - mapped Alans 200SX and helped get Daves mental RX7 Motec sorted so it'd start
lol...good answer! I look forward to meeting you at some point!

three votes for alfas, I had a 156 and that had amazing seats too :-)
right, off to become a hair dresser then, or save for gt-r seats

they don't look especially adjustable. I was hoping that I'd be okay with the Zed seats as they have two adjustments for the seat base, but it's a weird adjustment, down at the back and up at the front. i actually need a seat base that is short (short legs) and can tilt slightly down or at least level, opening the waist, and a negative lumbar (long body) as my back doesn't naturally bend that much.
This is an ongoing battle with cars, the best fit have been my Alfa 159 Ti daily (current) which has what I would call and "active" position, and my dad swears by Volvo seats. The worst I've had was an Audi A6, but the car was awful to drive too, so didn't last long.
I had the same problem with the RX-7, but solved it by padding the seat base to lift me higher in the bucket and then was fine for long journeys.
Thanks for your help

The problem I have is that I can't tell just by test driving a car, it takes a while to realise and start the endless adjustment.
I'm not alone in my family, my dad has had cars on an overnight test drive before to try and check a car out.

The reason I'm selling my Zed (did I mention that much yet ) is partly because I don't get on with the seats, and the Zed I've got isn't one I want to modify...so, I know it's a really subjective area, but which are the most comfortable seats that fit a 350Z?
The problem I have with the (2005) GT seats are that the bucket dimensions are too small for my frame, they appear designed for Japanese small-framed young gentlemen, with narrow shoulders and a tiny backside....I, on the other hand, have a normal good British posterior and broad shoulders which don't appreciate being bent inwards for any length of time. Also, the lumbar is aggressive and appears to try push my back forwards halfway up, leaving my shoulders away from the top of the seat. The nearest I have come to comfort is by being almost bolt upright, but I cannot find any position that fits.
So, are the facelift seats better/different? are the 370Z seats larger framed? or are the GT-R seats an option?
Am I completely alone on this one!?

when is this?

I've realised that I want a car that I can modify, and want big power. The GT4 is absolutely mint, the best purchase I've made for some considerable time, it flew through a service and MOT this week and drives really well. However, I don't get on with the seat and cannot find a position that doesn't result in back pain (a family trait which rules out certain cars completely, I'm afraid), and I cannot modify it without undermining its value as a GT4.
So, I'd like a quick turnaround, then look for a F/I one where I can change the seats and dabble in a number of other areas. I need one that I can comfortably drive to the Ring, drive round the Ring in a reasonable time, and then drive back and park it up for a few weeks at a time - the GT4 would do that if I changed the seats and suspension, but I daren't - it's a cracker!

yes. i can't advertise here yet so you'll have to go look online (*hint* what do burglars carry in sacks on their back?)

lol...I'm not going on this one now either! and so my car is more aggressively for sale.
mods can close this, I think.

Just booking Bedford for a late season trackday with a mate in his S2000. Anyone want to join us?

hmm...I've bought a perfect car, but not got what I was looking for so I'm still looking (and driving )

I'm at the beginning of this journey, but mine has the v1 kit already...
I might have to sell it and get a Zed I *can* modify with a clear conscience.
will follow this with interest

A little bit of googling and I've come up with this list, including owners unknown to the forum, or since become inactive (based on the old thread). I haven't actually counted the colours up, and I'm not volunteering to keep this list up to date . If you want to check the latest on any car, try googling 350Z GT4 "1 of 176" and replace the number 1 with the number you want to know about.
