Id be fancying some DS2500 when mine need replacing, I had planned on swapping the rears for these but needed pads there and then and euro car parts only had pagid in

Did you have to refurb the calliper to fix the issue or replace the disc and pads?

Just worked off the stuck caliper with pliers then new pads!

Have had my 296 Z for a while, I don't do many miles but always felt the it to be a little flat and in the entire time i've owned it (14 months) have seen the traction control come on once. When my brakes started making an horrendous noisy I discovered the nearside caliper was stuck on. this caused the pad to have worn down to the metal on the inside. The was a more meat on the pads on the offside. Having fixed this, the car feels completely different to drive, it now feels electric. The acceleration is frankly amazing i feel like its gained 30 or so HP using my butt dyno. Oh and roundabouts, the traction control now says hello if i give it a little stick upon exiting. The back ed of the car feels alive where as before it felt wooden.

Really chuffed as to me it feels as fast at my old Revo stage one ST. Absolutely love the car. As I have said I now know what everyone is on about when they claim the 350 is a real drivers car.

Took wheel off today and pulled the pads, no material on the inside one that I couldn't see. This was only the case on the nearside. The offside was very low and the corner broken off. Replaced with brand new pads and she's good as new! Thanks for all your help

Not I didnt, only had a quick look while on lunch Ill poke my head under car when I get in. Used a iphone to look at pads

Just looked at pads, plenty of life on them. Moved the car up and down the street and under breaking no noise. This is only forwards and backwards and under 5mph. It definatley gets worse as the car gets hot and even worse if I have a passenger. Maybe wheel bearings?

The garage a major player on here didnt do a great job, I watched they basically did a p1 but charged me for a p2. I will have a look, im certain its the rear

I have a horrible grinding noise that I am sure is coming from the left hand side of my car. It happens when I press the brakes and coming to a stop. It is quite a low noise when the car is cold but as it gets warm and the brakes are used it gets louder. If im doing say 70 and want to scrub off speed I cannot hear it.Seems to be loude if I have a passenger to? What is going on! When the car was serviced last month there was loads of life on the pads and the discs look good to my untrained eye.

 

did you check the rear of the discs ? corrosion will always take place at the rear

 

No I havent, it had a major P2 a month a go but the garage didnt really check anything other than the pads. Will I need to remove the wheel to do this?

Could try bedding in procedure again?

My advice would be to stop putting your face near your brakes.

 

In all seriousness the disc might be warped or cracked? What pads are you using? Just OEM ones?

Will be OEM ones, it is booked into the garage on the 4th. DOnt use the car for work thankfully. If it needs pads im going use this as excuse to get some better pads and or discs

I have a 296 car and been offered a flywheel from off here. The car is in greece and a 296hp, I am assuming the gearbox will be exactly the same hence his flywheel will fit mine UK car?

Never take my lid off and if got told to remove it I wouldn't fill up. I do put the visor up though. Bike has got a nice big registration plate on the back and CCTV everywhere, I can understand it might look a little intimidating but always very polite when I enter the station to pay.

Is there a set left?

That made me laugh the drainpipe comment. Must be like a musket! My boss has a little land but doesnt like the noise his gun makes so might get one of these and see if he will let me have a go at the crows.

I'm as far as you can get before falling into the irish sea - so maybe a touch far...........and the garden measures 100ft wide x 40ft deep - so, as long as the ammunition didn't go further than that we'd be fine

Even as much as I love driving the Z thats a fair commute to shoot crows
