  1. Ah thank you, useful thread!
  2. Sadly, it's time to list my Z for sale after four years of joy. I'm just wondering if there are any places that you would recommend for listing it? Or any Z specialists that are always interested in buying? (I know you need 100 posts here) Of the obvious sites for listing, which do you prefer? Auto Trader I haven't sold a car on AutoTrader for at least a decade. It's expensive and there's a deeply frustrating word limit on the ad, so I can't say all the things I want to about it. Has it gone through any kind of resurgence since I last paid attention to it? eBay I've sold cheaper, less specialist, cars on eBay really quickly and easily. But I get the feeling that for more valuable and unique cars, it won't be as good. Seems like you get more people there who waste your time without actually being serious about buying. Pistonheads I'd have thought this would make the most sense for selling performance cars, but then I think the vast majority of their uses are just browsers. I search on there all the time to see what's around and how much certain cars are going for, but I've never actually tried to buy a car on there. Wisdom welcome
  3. Apologies for the late reply... I'm not sure how old the wheels are, they were on the car when I bought it 18 months ago. From their condition I'd say they weren't on long before that, but that's a guess. The refurb was a few weeks ago and they haven't been fitted since
  4. I decided to keep another set instead, so selling these... 18", black, 8.5 front, 9.5 rear, 5x114.3. Offset 30. Refurbished - see the quality in photos. Near immaculate. I would prefer to sell for collection, I'm in Witney, OX28. I will ship at the buyer's additional cost but you're likely looking at £25 at least (not a final quote!) Email for more or higher-res pics or to come take a look if you're local. £750 (wrong date in the photos, I thought it was the 13th! I didn't take the pics two days in the future)
  5. It used to be 20mm lower than the photo with the black alloys, but I live in the sticks and it scrapes along the ground on humped country lanes, so it had to go back up. The Axe wheels are 19s, s it's helped fill the arches a bit better. That's another reason I'm tempted to stick with them
  6. Haha, sorry. Apparently I can't count spokes. I'd prefer the GTRs in grey, which solves nothing. Grrrf.
  7. Yeah, GTR. Why? Are Grids better?
  8. Hah yeah I will most likely sell the Rotas if I decide not to put them back on. That pic doesn't show the Rotas well, but that's kinda what I don't like about black wheels anyway. I almost don't notice them
  9. I've got a decision to make on wheels. The GTRs were on the car before, but I didn't love the look of it with black wheels (car is gunmetal). They were also a bit scuffed, so I bought these silver Axe wheels and took the Rotas off for a refurb. The Axe wheels look fine on the car but now, but I'm not 100% sold on quite bright silver wheels against gunmetal grey, and now I have the Rotas back, they're looking super sharp. So which set do I keep and which do I sell?
  10. Latest of many purchases was all top notch as ever. Always my first port of call for any Z bits
  11. Re-listing the Y-pipe and Cat pipes. See images & details at the top
  12. Yeah my TC chucked a fit when I first got the car cos someone left it with undersized tyres ridiculously stretched. I'd assume that both 30 and 35 are in the sensible TC range for 19" 245 and 275 though?
  13. I couldn't agree more, if I knew anything about them I wouldn't have needed to start a thread! The ones I'm looking at say offset: ET40 front & rear (no idea what that means) No sign of any number like 11J - what's that called and I'll ask about it? Cheers! et40 might not fit over your brakes as the mounting face is to close to the spokes with et40 11j is the 95j in 19x9.5 its the width of the wheel in inches Would that be different for non-Brembo? I'm JDM calipers... Oh ok, so I'm 8.5J ET40 for 245/35/19 and 9.5J ET40 for 275/35/19
  14. Cheers! So no need for 30 profile rears? There was talk running lower if the rear is wider... tyre profile is subject to the wdith if the tyre is 275/35/18 the tyre is 275mm wide and the profile is 35% of the width(275mm) high does that make sense? so a 35 on a 245 is smaller than a 35 on a 275 Wouldn't that mean you'd want a lower profile on the rear to even it out? 35 of 245 is closer to 30 of 275 than to 35 of 275 (85 & 82 vs 96)
  15. Cheers! So no need for 30 profile rears? There was talk running lower if the rear is wider...

  17. im going to be honest as i think ive tired to help and hope i have, but your questions are unanswerable without more information, bit like me asking will a tank fit in my garage, you would need to know the size of the garage and the size of the tank, you just asking will 19x8.5/9/9.5 wheels fit is only give us the size of the tank we need the offset number or the make and model of the wheel to obtain this number ( ie the garage size) to give you any help at all, and asking about tyre before this point doesnt work either as you need the wheel sizes to get the correct tyre size No, you have helped, cheers. I just can't give details about wheels if I don't have them.... Think I've settled on a set now though, 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear. I'm led to believe that the 245/35 and 275/35or30 tyres should fit fine, or at least the people I'm buying both the wheels and the tyres from will advise on fitting sizes anyway, so should all work out. Thanks!
  18. The patronising sarcasm part was not aimed at you
  19. Check out the link i posted, loads of info with what sizes people are running. Minimum widths i would say are 8 front 9 rears, but you wont fit a 275 on a 9, 8.5 and 9.5 to run a 245 front & 275 rear. Cheers, it was most useful!
  20. Let me start by stating that I appreciate peoples' best intentions to offer help on this forum. it's such a great resource for all things Z that I overlook any condescension, patronisation and snide, self-inflating sarcasm and smugness of superior knowledge I encounter along the way without a second thought. Well, until now at least... The advice I'm being given is not answering the questions I'm asking. I understand what's being said, it's just no more relevant to me than replying with tomorrow's weather forecast. That doesn't mean I fail to comprehend the message. I clearly have a different approach to most here and that's ok with me, I don't claim to be in a majority. I just hoped I would still be able to get some advice even if I'm not going about things exactly as everyone here would themselves. I don't care about wheels, they don't interest me, they're just the bits of metal that sit inside the tyres. They're not performance parts, I don't care who makes them, what width they are, or about any other wheel-related facts or figures. As long as I find a set that I think look alright, that's good enough for me. The choice of wheel is not leading this project. On the other hand, I do know exactly which tyres I want to run and roughly what size I want them to be. I just need to make sure to buy wheels that will take Vredestein Sessantas, and that I know which spec tyres to fit to said wheels. If Mitz reckons 19" wheels are best suited to 245/35 front and 275/35 rear, that's good enough for me - he's always been spot on in my experience (though I have been recommended to go 275/30 at the rear). I've since been helpfully advised (from elsewhere) that 245 front tyres best suit 8-9" wide wheels, and 275 rears suit 9-10" wide. I don't like stretched tyres so would stick to the bottom of the range for each. It has also been suggested that I shouldn't have any problems fitting those widths inside standard arches. I had no idea what a PCD of 5x114 is, that is not jargon I've heard before - apologies if that demeans me in this exalted company. I Googled it and something to do with spacers came up, apparently erroneously. On further inspection, it appears to be the pattern and size of the nuts. The wheels I'm looking at all claim to be 5x114, so I seem to be on the right lines there (assuming they just left out the .3), so thank you for that guidance. If anyone has any other helpful advice on any of the above, I will welcome it warmly. If anyone has more patronising sarcasm, I will welcome it less.
  21. find the wheel you want send us a link and well tell you if they will fit also if your arnt aware you need a PCD of 5x114 Why spacers? is that for any 275/9-wide rear?
  22. I want to find the wheel first, I just needed to make sure that the wheel will fit on the car! If 8, 8.5 and 9 will all fit on the car as standard then happy days, I'll go choose one! Cheers
  23. You can't choose tyres before you've chosen your wheels. That would be like buying a pair of shoes for a friend when you don't know what size feet they are. You need to find the wheels you want and then post on the forum and ask if they fit etc. I'd choose my friend based on the size of his feet The Vredestein Sessanta tyres come in a million different sizes, I'm sure I'll be able to find some to fit whatever wheels I buy. I understand tyre sizes, it's the wheel sizes that confuse me... 1.) Will 19x8, 19x8.5 and 19.9 wheels all fit on my car without any modifications required? 2.) What effect does the x8, x8.5 and x9 size have on tyres? Will I need to buy different sized tyres depending on those wheel measurements? None of the tyres I've looked at quote that size...
  24. Hi Mitz, The wheels I'm still shopping around, but one reason I've not settled on a set is some are 19x8, some 19x8.5 and some 19x9. I don't want to settle on one that won't fit! Tyres are Vredestein Sessanta, but Camskill doesn't have those in 245 or 275... LoveTyres has every size under the sun, so at least I can get 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 from them. But will they fit any of the different sizes of wheel?
  25. Argh, confused! I'm changing the wheels and tyres on my Z and am now thoroughly confused about sizes and fittings. Right now I have: Wheels - 18" Rota GTR Front - 225/40/18 Rear - 245/45/18 What are the standard wheel fitting sizes front and rear? I've seen 18x8, 18x8.5, 18x9 all listed. Why are there different sizes? Concerned that if I buy the wrong ones, my new wheels won't fit... I want 19" wheels and don't know whether that's x8, x8.5 or x9, but also the tyre sizes will change.... The only options on Camskill for the tyres I want are: 225/40/19 235/35/19 255/35/19 ...but should the profile not be different for the 235 to the 255? Elsewhere, the 255 comes in /30, /35, /40 or /50.... I was going to put 235 front and 255 rear, but is that where I would need the different x8.5 or x9 wheels?
