  1. Been looking at these recently. Do they open the bonnet more than the stock holder? As that doesn't give you much room to do anything under the bonnet.

Also what are they like to fit? Do you need to drill holes etc?

  2. I thought it was a 370z and was in the morning? Although I only saw you at the last minute as I went round the corner so probably was you, did you flash at me?

I actually saw a GM 350z this morning, with a wrapped bonnet, when I was going from East Grinstead to Horsham via Haywards Heath, can't think exactly where that was. Was that you again?

I'm based in East Grinstead and Horsham.

  3. Hi Guys,

Got a tiny amount of peel around a couple of my parking sensors on an otherwise immaculate condition Z. It's the gun metal grey body colour and just wondering what my options are to repair this? Not sure if the sensors are factory fitted (any easy way to tell?). I expect my only option is to take it to a bodywork specialist which I guess could be expensive, but just wondering if there's anything anyone recommends I try first? It is only the top clear coat that has peeled away.

    Cheers.

I'm really surprised at how well it does on fuel, I'm on 415 miles with 60 miles DTE! That's with a mix of motorways, country roads a little bit of town and the odd blast here and there. When I picked it up, I did 150 motorway miles and it averaged 36mpg at a steady 70mph, really impressive for such a huge engine.

To update on this, light came on at 450 miles. Just filled her up and she only took 67 L, so there was still another 13 L to go before empty. How can this engine be so efficient!? Really impressed. :)

  5. Off the back of my thread about a QD for day to day use (some good advice, cheers :)), wondering what you guys carry with you, if anything?

I carry a bottle of QD, micro fibre cloth, bird dropping wipes (use these a lot!) and active insect remover.

  6. I'd prefer not to say exactly, but I'm not far from the Crawley area. :)

  7. From Thursday last week, I've been a proud Z owner! I bought a stunning 07 grey HR and love it to bits! Took a while to find the right one and had to travel 300 miles to get it but it was absolutely worth it. It's in immaculate condition and has been really well looked after by the previous owner.

Coming from a 2.0 turbo car, the 3.5 V6 is miles better, it's just so smooth with really powerful long gears and sounds incredible. The car itself handles brilliantly and I'm loving it more and more every time I drive it.

Anyway, forum is full of lots of good info and I've already learnt a lot from it, looking forward to hopefully meeting some other Z owners in the future.

    Cheers!

  8. Bit off topic, but I'm also near Crawley! Where are you?

I enquired with Wheelworks for my previous car and they seemed very good, as they completely strip the wheel back and start again but the wheels were badly kurbed. If they had just the off kurb mark on one then I'd be more inclined to use one of the mobile guys.

  9. Regarding the AA check before you buy, don't do it. They will pick up the stupidest and smallest non-issues and end up putting you off. Person that wanted my previous car before the Z had one of the inspections done and was basically talked out of because the engine apparently made a 'audible ticking noise'... There was nothing wrong with it, having had a new cambelt and major service 4000 miles previously by a very experienced mechanic that I know well.

If I was in that position I'd take a proper mechanic or a friend who knows about cars or the car you want in particular as they will know what's normal and what's not.

  10. Hi,

Just wondering what you use to keep your cars looking nice between washes? With my previous car, I washed weekly and between the washes I used to just wipe it over with a micro fibre cloth when it got surface dust over it. I did have some Autoglym Rapid Detailer to use with it, but it used to leave a horrible streaky mess behind.

Obviously this isn't the best method to use as wiping the cloth over a good paintwork finish could introduce small scratch marks, my previous car had swirl marks over it so I wasn't too fussed but my Z has been absolutely babied by the previous owner and is in immaculate condition so I want to keep this up.

As with my previous car I'll keep up a regular claying, polish, wax etc routine, but just want something to keep it looking nice and shiny between washes. As you can probably tell I can't stand a dirty car!!

    Thanks in advance.
