I’ve got a cheap Sony double din with Bluetooth and usb connection for sale for £50
Does it have the fascia?

Hello,
I've ripped out the centre console and currently spraying the plastic so thought it would be good to get rid of that tape deck!
My car isnt a daily so the radio is never on, just looking for a double din for aesthetics only. Ideally it will come with the wiring and fascia

That TTS video is brutal. Also looked at the one against the Nismo 370z which again totally drove away from! Didnt realise the S had so much pace.
The nismo 370 wasnt fair as his rears were completely shot so it was probably a little unfair
but the auto S does pretty much 13.0 on the 1/4 standard!

Hi all,
I originally bought this car back in Feb 2013 but I sold it 3 years ago to IRN BRU. 5 years on, I've now bought it back and it now has the luxury of being a toy car thanks to owning a company car!
I regretted selling her instantly, which has been reflected in having changed cars 4 time in 3 years.
Here she is before I sold her:
I bought an A5 3.0tdi S-line after this, I got it remapped and it was pretty fast but it was just your typical German barge that was ridiculously nose heavy in the corners and offered no driving satisfaction whatsoever.
It was impressive in a straight line though, here is a video of me racing an RS4 at Crail raceway, the video is from inside the RS4:
9 months after buying the A5 I traded it in for a Subaru WRX hatch
I hated this car but I kept it for over 2 years.... it wasn't that fast, it wasn't great in the corners but the more I think back it was actually quite a fun car to drive and it never missed a beat. I was about to get married, the plan was to sell this after the wedding and get an XKR but then this happened:
The car came to an unfortunate end by meeting the toe bar of a pickup truck who pulled out at a roundabout and then decided to stop,,, It was a really big roundabout so my head was turned completely to the right and noticed I could make it out no problem and pressed the loud pedal,,,,,
So my next choice was hampered from money and an insurance perspective... So I went from looking at 4.2 supercharged V8s to getting an Audi TTS auto...
It's funny because everyone will obviously come out with the hairdresser remarks, but I really loved this car. It was blistering on the straights and the bends, the double clutch gearbox meant you could do perfect downshifts without having wizards feet and it was really fun to drive. I would 100% own another one at some point, hopefully the RS version, they aren't like all the other nose heavy Audi's, there was some play in the back but it was generally a point and shoot sort of car.
Here is a video of me racing AMT HR Zed that he has now sold,,,, probably after this mauling
With a baby due in October last year,,, this had to go. I always like big jeeps and thought it would be a good time to scratch the itch! So I got a BMW x5 3.0D Msport,,
I done a lot of research into the faults with the likes of the Q7, RRS and X5 and it certainly seemed on the face of it,,, the one with the least issues. Sadly it was nothing but a burden of a car. I spent more time driving my misses car because this was always in the garage getting something done!
Thankfully a promotion came with the benefit of a company car. I sold the X5 and began pestering IRN BRU(Brian) to sell me the Zed back. He took a few weeks to think about it but eventually agreed to sell her back. I went down last week to see her and sort the boring parts. I've now got the V5 and my private plate ready to go, so I'm going back down on Saturday in McQueezy 370z Nismo Mk2 (fitting chariot to collect a Zed) to pick her up.
I've been really lucky as I know Brian has looked after her and thrown as much money as I did at her. So now I'm getting a much better car back and I cant wait!!!
sorry for rabbiting on!
Cheers,
Kris

Nah, it’s a cheapy Bronze Series one. Horrible thing to play as the balance is dreadful (much worse than an SG) and the pickups muddy, but it does still look cool so it stays.
God your collection has grown since the last time I was on here! My first guitar was a bc rich warlock in metalic blue, it didnt have the scorpion head. So the balance was ok.. until it met the floor from height and died

Ok it sounds like the door locking module/electronic brain that controls the siren that's faulty. The siren fuse is the 5amp one in the rear row of the under bonnet fuse box.At least by yanking the fuse out it should stop the siren from sounding.Hope this helps.
Disconnected the battery and the siren was still going mental
was about to just stab myself to stop the noise
found the fuse and got it out.
Looking forward to a nice sleep tonight!

No idea sorry Hensh but have you tried ASN (Audi Sport Net)?
Link: http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/
They have a TT section on there so you might be able to find some answers or ask some more helpful Audi owners. Good luck.
Thanks GM,
I have searched the internet high and low including that site. I was already in the TTuk forum and put up the same post last week and had basically no replys.
The problem is almost all the issues you find in google are related to the mk1 TT!

Hi guys,
I know this isn't a 350z but there is always a vast array of knowledge on this forum! I have a TTS that has been playing up big time recently. It first started with the alarm going off randomly when the car was locked, normally when it was raining. It stopped doing this for a while until last week when I was driving to work and the alarm started going off while I was driving!
This was a bone dry day, there was no hazards flashing, no error messages, nothing on the "trip" to say any door/boot was open. It done this multiple times on that journey then didn't do it again for about 4 days.
I started the car yesterday morning after it had been left sitting on the drive since Tuesday. Straight away the alarm started going off, again no hazards just the siren,,, it wouldn't stop. I eventually disconnected the battery and took the misses car. I made the brave assumption that it could be the battery causing these issues and forked out £140 for a new one which i fitted last night(nightmare)
I drove the car to football last night with no issues and parked up. 3AM and boom,,, alarm going off again! I drove the car this morning and drove into work, it was ok the whole way in until 5mins to go and the siren went off. I was driving along opening and closing the door trying to shut the thing up. I noticed the passenger window had dropped slightly like they do when you open the door. I am not sure it does this everytime the siren goes off but I did notice it this time.
I posted in the TT forum but they're all hairdressers and have so far come back with zero info. There was a known issue with the siren battery leaking but this was on the older shape where the siren was located in the boot. No one has told me where the siren is in my car but its under the bonnet somewhere.
Car is a 59 plate,,,, I am going to take it to an auto electrician tomorrow but any advise would be good!!
Cheers

Depending on how long your interview is, you could just park on the streets around there. Its expensive, but there will be multiple spaces in and around there.

Funnily enough I've been looking at the Blackstar stuff, any idea exactly which one it is he runs? Never been massively keen on Marshall tones, so I'm eager to try other stuff out. I was using a little 15w Egnater head and 1x12 cab on Saturday, which was lovely but a little limited with regards to an ultra clean sound. Smashing amounts of gain though.
It's not quite the 60 on mine, but it's close to it with just a little more depth over the standard one. It's certainly got more low end for sure, but also I think it sounds like there's more working in the very higher frequencies too. I'd argue it's more of a bluesy tone than a strict metal one, but then that might just be my limited use of it with my own setup so far.
Tell you what I do really like though, the satin neck. Soooooo much easier for zipping up and down for quick chord changes, never used one before and now I'm not sure I'll ever go back.
I think its the HT stage 100 but don't quote me on that!
Best go to a music shop and have a play about with them!
The EMG's are unbelievably versatile, I bring the strat to gigs for the "cleaner" songs but I find myself using the EMG's for more and more. I am lucky if I use the strat for about 7 songs.. and I still only use the strat as they're songs that have that "strat" mowtown sound.
I know what you mean about the satin neck, some of these painted/treated necks give too much resistance!

Bought one!
ESP LTD Snakebyte, in satin black.
Chuff me, I thought car buying was hard! Great setup at Andertons, literally you grab a booth then just go and help yourself to the guitars you want to try, back and forth as long as you want. I spent over three hours playing various things including the Snakebyte, Epi Explorer, both T & HP Explorers, an X series Jackson, a Pro series Rhodes V Jackson, Gib Flying V, Gib SG, along with a Jaguar and US Strat just for tone comparison as I wasn't using my regular amp. To cut a long story short:
The Epi was too weedy in this company
The X Jackson way more fun and toneful than I expected but I'd want that shape in a Pro version which they don't do
The V Jackson was really not for me at all
The Gibson V was huge fun but I don't suit the shape
I remember I don't like Strats at all, and the Jaguar wasn't as easy to run chords off on as my Mustang is.
I actually preferred the T Explorer to the HP, as the tone was too bright on the fancy one for my taste plus the neck felt too big at the nut end, so it ended up a straight fight between the Snakebyte and the Explorer T.
ESP was easier to move quickly up and down the neck due to the satin finish, slightly heavier at the head and not as comfortable to hold either sitting or standing. Tone was gritty and dirty, yet the clarity on the clean was gorgeous.
Gibson was a much better all-rounder, with a tone that could go from classic rock right up to metal, and it felt so, so right just holding it. Not quite as hard hitting on the low end due to the pups being Gibson's own over the active HetSet (based on the 60/81s) EMGs on the ESP.
If I had to choose one guitar to play forever, I'd have taken the Gibson. Lovely thing, so much more versatile, and I definitely prefer the shape of the body. However I already have guitars that can cover the brighter end of the rock spectrum, and I wanted something that would specialise in chugging away metal riffs all day long: That was the Snakebyte. It's raw, it's hard, it's crunchy and it's clear. Had a bit more of a play on my setup at home today and it's now got me wanting a proper valve amp to do it justice. Tried it back to back with my Mustang and it was clear that I made the right choice, as you could not get two more different tones. Very happy with it, despite it being bang-on the top end of my budget.
Well done mate, new guitar day is always a good day.
Whats the 61 like? It's the 81/89 I have on my hellraiser solo 6.
My mate has a blackstar valve head/cab which sounds really good. It will probably cost you half vs the marshall equivalent!

I dont know the value of the goods that were stolen however, keep in mind if you do lodge a claim it will be with you for 5 years. The price of the rear glass not be much more than your excess.
I would probably kick a tree or something then just bite the bullet and pay it myself

Not any more, haven't for about ten years I think. I do miss it, only gave it up because I was running out of time to do other things, now I'd quite enjoy the distraction I think.
Lets start an ex 350z owners band

Oops, missed your last post dude! Fun fact: I made the DJ play the Metallica version of Whiskey at my wedding, simply because it's awesome
Think I've nailed down the list of guitars that I'll be trying on the weekend:
Epi 1984 Explorer
ESP LTD Snakebyte
Gibson Explorer 2017 HP
Chapman Ghost Fret
Pretty much decided I want an Explorer-type simply because it looks so much cooler than a Les Paul, just hoping one of those is comfortable to play. Initial thoughts going on interwebs and guesswork:
Epiphone will likely feel outclassed, but then I have budget to replace the pups with something proper EMG 81/60s
Snakebyte has probably the exact tone I want, but I'm not sold on the shape. Being a signature edition doesn't bother me, although I know some hate them.
Gibson has a slightly wider fretboard so may be too fiddly, however the extra bits over the T (especially the G-Force auto tuning) is too cool to pass up.
Chapman is an unknown, although the guy at Andertons said it was definitely worth trying (I'm aware of the link between Chapman and Andertons, so may just be sales patter!)
May end up buying none, may end up with something completely different. We shall see
I wasn't allowed anything cool at our wedding
My mate had the epiphone explorer but this was about 15+ ago that I played it. I remember that it was ok to sit down with but couldn't comment on anything other than that it was sooo long ago. He had the yellowy woodstain finish which looked pretty nice.
my 2p would be to have a look at the ESP EC-1000, I have nearly bought one of these about 3 times
It's a slightly more pointy les paul but some of the finishes are stunning. Really nice matt black with gold edges and hardware... it also comes with EMG's which IMHO are a must if you have more than one guitar!

There's a few vids on YT that are just backing tracks, I had a go last night with them. The missus was not impressed with my efforts
I did try learning the Enter Sandman solo which is supposed to be very easy, but I find it hard to pick out the exact notes when there's a wah being used. Managed to do most of the second part of it, but not exactly what you'd call nailed down.
You nailed it, add the wah adds mess!
a better solo to learn from Metalica is probably nothing else matters. It will push you a little but its not too long that you will need to put hours in to learn/remember it. Another one I always tend to use to teach is Whiskey in the jar. The Thin Lizzy version though. The intro is pretty good and the solo is really easy...loooong.. but easy.
-
I guess my biggest issue with that is I can't solo for toffee
Never appealed to me when I was younger, so I stuck with rhythm playing as I find it more fun.
I mean, I can play basic solos but nothing proper fast or anything. Just never been my cup of tea, no idea why.
Honestly!? I play in a function band, we do a 3 hour set of 60/70/80 rock/mowtown... literally any chance i get to pick a song, it normally has a 5min guitar solo
Definitely try and learn to improvise, loop in something simple like Am & F then look up Am pentatonic. Familiarise yourself with one part of the guitar and just do what you want!

I have that effect too, it's a little bit clever
It does have a looper, but it's a bit of a faff to get to sadly (told you!) but it is really cool when you get it working. I need to explore that a bit more really, might have a noodle around tonight I think.
The Gt10 used to be hard to kick off standing up as you need to hold 2 buttons down at the same time. The GT100 has a button just for looping. Not sure I would fancy using it live though unless the drummer had a metronome in his ear!!
100% get looping tonight! I alway just knock in a few chords and just solo for far too long
I use it for teaching as well, I just loop the chords in and then I can focus on what they're playing/trying to play
-
I had to google that model, never heard of it! Man, things have definitely come a long way
Personally I really love the Digitech stuff, in terms of tone and options and definitely manufacturing I reckon they're right up there with the best. The only thing I think they fall down on is usability, as sometimes to do the simple stuff it takes an age whereas the complex things you never use seem to be really easy to access. The only thing I don't like on mine is that I can't have two modulating FX at the same time, so no chorus and flanger together for example. Not a combo I use often, but it would be nice to have the option. In fairness most other boards are the same, and I get that it's processor limited, it's just a minor annoyance.
Whilst part of me would love an old-skool setup of actual pedals on a lump of wood, it's also a major cost and a major faff. For someone who likes experimenting a lot, then I would never be able to cope with something so 'limited' as a handful of set pedals. Each to their own though, if I had my own definite tone that never changed then I'd be happy to simplify.
Yeh, I got that when I was 13 or something
Does the RP1000 have a looper? I find that is one of the best things built into these pedals.
The GT100 can do more than one modulation, there is a preset distorsion tone with the 2nd effect being a bass guitar. It really does just sound like a guitar and bass playing. You obviously can't play a chord, but single notes sound pretty cool.
-
Sounds ace
My RP1000 does the harmony stuff too, it's just a little more awkward to use as it wants to count in it's own way rather than something practical. Stuff like that has come on so much in recent years though, you're absolutely spot-on, my older RP6 used to have a go at it but the delay was horrendous
How is the Digitech stuff now? my first ever pedal board was a GNX2 which I loved until it eventually died
-
I was using a Boss GT10 up until last week but I just got the Boss GT100, not used it long enough to say too much but initial impressions are very good!
How do you find the amp modelling on that? Do you run it via the Marshall, or direct to PC/PA?
Very impressed, I set it up through a little practice amp which just couldn't handle it
the presets are really good, the harmonising effects are amazing, you tell it what key you're playing in and how many steps down/up you want it to play and it sounds amazing. The GT10 had one but it wasn't as clever, it was much more of a pitch shift rather than harmony.
it also has an expression pedal that makes some mental noises, not quite sure I would use them live but quite interesting all the same.
The guy in my band has the Roland GR 55 midi pedal, I would have the GT100 everyday of the week. The GR 55 does make sounds a guitar shouldn't make but the actual guitar sounds just dont sound anywhere near as good.
