  1. So I've just been out to chuck some tools in the car, and the boot won't open! It has been a bit temperamental lately having to be double tapped to open up... But now nothing! I can hear the solenoid/ catch trying to work on the press of the button but its not releasing!

Is there any way to open the boot elsewhere?

    Any help would be great!

    Cheers Oakley

  2. Morning all, been having a few small problems since I bought my zed and looking for some answers or advice :)

First of all is a scrubbing type noise that seems to be coming from the offside rear wheel when turning left at slow speeds, gets progressively quicker at a certain point as the wheel goes round.

Second of all is my worries about the clutch, it's got 50,000 miles on it and hasn't been replaced, not sure when it has to be done. At the moment the biting point is fairly high and seems to be stalling sometimes... (Could be down to driver error? )

Tried reversing up a slope the other day and was putting a bit of strain on the clutch when a chattering noise was heard?

Might be nothing but I get paranoid about these things!

Any help or advice is appreciated :)

    Cheers, Oakley

  3.

Forgot I'd also blown a big chunk of cash on replacing the pants, scabby headlights too

Sorry to pee on your fire abit, but I imagine new headlights were quite expensive? I know what you mean about them looking abit scabby, mine are starting to go to.. Most of the cause is the fact that the UV coating or lack of is starting to vanish..

You can actually remove this coating and replace it. Making the headlights look brand new! Headlight refurb in other words :)

I'm looking to do mine soon so will post up some pics of the end results. Maybe even offer a service if people want it done?

  4. Has the car been lowered at all? From the back it looks really low but maybe that's just the bumper?

It's sitting on Meister R coilovers on their highest setting (so fractionally lower than stock) but my rear track tyres have dropped it about 20mm due to the 255/35/18 profile.

Ah I thought the back looked low! Looks really smart mate, I wasn't keen on the gloss black with the sunset but seeing this has changed my mind! I want that rear bumper! :)

  5. No set time as of yet, the pub doesn't open til 12.00 on a Sunday so was thinking maybe around 1pm? If that's suitable for everyone :)

  7. Got round to fitting a Satnav system in my 05 cubby :) didn't fancy splashing out too much on a tablet or a new dash, so found a Garmin nuvi50 on offer that fits perfectly in the cubby and has all the functions I need :)

I wanted to wire it to a switch and to the back of the cigarette lighter so that I didn't have to keep plugging it in and so all the wiring was hidden. So firstly I made the loom with a switch, done a test run and all worked as it should :) baring in mind I still had the plugin bit on the end.

So I chopped that off and wired it into the lighter, got it all back together, plugged it in and fried my brand new sat nav :( luckily they took it back and replaced it for me....

I fried this one too :(

Third time lucky and using the existing wiring it all works fine and looks good :)

Note to self. Don't attempt any wiring of any kind ever again!

  8. I know what you mean about the itch! I bought a P38 before I got my previous car, was an awesome peice of kit and I loved every minute of driving it.

Got a full service history with it and worked out that it had £53,000 spent on it since it came out the showroom 15 years ago!

Like I said they are brilliant fun and full of gadgets but you've got to be willing to spend the money on it because they are riddled with problems :(

I had mine for 3 months before a loud banging from the prop scared me to death and I part ex'd it :)

  9. The vine pub looks good mate, and if a previous meet has been held there the chances are most people will know where it is :)

sounds like the one then m8. :teeth: if you need any help sorting give me a shout but i am up for it . :D

Cheers Buster :) ill change the topic title and put more details in my first post :)

Not sure what sort of time to meet, go according to previous meets that have been held?
