  1. Pretty sure the intake box is a lot bigger in the DE type.
  2. I have an air intake set from a HR, but if you have the earlier type car, then may be of no use
  3. Seems I can ship them as 2 parcels through Parcel force at £14 each. so I can ship within UK for £28. No idea how this may work, but Parcel Monkey quote City Link as Courier next day £14 15kg weigh, 60*60*50cm as a rough guide for quote. I would tape up then wrap in bin bag then tape again with labels on. May be a bit of a delay as I work it out but wouldn't have thought more than a couple of days.
  4. Ah balls, Never noticed. I am in Aberdeenshire, postage is possible but could be major expensivo.
  5. Hi folks, I'm clearing out my garage of some stuff and I have my winter tread tyres from the 350. These are Vredstein winter treads, have a lot of life left in them an have been kept in a dry garage, just taken out to photograph. Sizes are Front: 225/45/ R 18, Rear: 245/45/ R 18 £100 for the set, Local Pick-up preferred as posting 4 tyres with parcelforce could be entertaining, however if buyer is happy to pay postage I can work something out. I am based in Aberdeenshire near Inverurie. Any questions jut ask Rick Edit: to add location Pics:
  6. Hi folks, I'm clearing out my loft and I found I still have my OEM air filter units. These are in fantastic condition and come with HKS green foam panel filters. I'm looking for £100 posted. Let me know if interested. Rick
  7. Cheers I will have a look into it with the man
  8. Hi folks, Well I was out in Inverness with the good lady 2 weeks ago and during an exceptionally wet day driving along the road into town the CEL light came on, the car seemed fine, made no noticeable hesitations etc. So I did the dance of a thousand pedals and got P0430 as a code. A bit of googling over a costa found that this was an issue with the catalytic convertor. Once I had got the code the light had gone out, but came back the other day, it threw up the same code, again I can notice no difference in running of the car, fuel efficiency etc (car always run on super 98\99). I have a Borla exhaust and hi flow cats on the car, and I kow aftermarket exhausts can cause this issue but I wondered if it was a screw in sensor or some such that could be on the way out, or is this simply something that occurs due to aftermarket cts? though I have run the car for about 2 months before this started. Any info or advice would be great, as I am about to do an oil change and knowing if there are any areas I should be looking at under the car would be grand. Cheers all. (apologies for wall of text, but return function isn't working in text box???)
  9. a new clutch (plate, pressure plate and bearing) and the slave cylinder. An exedy clutch is about £280 and a slave Cyl I would assume to be anything from about £60 to £100. so say £400 for parts and about £200-300 for labour.
  10. I must have misheard him then as his rate is about £47 an hour and its about £200-£250 I had in my head labour wise and he didn't disagree, so with parts £600-£700 would be about right. He is getting me a quote today.
  11. Well took it to my local indie, and he had a good look all over the pedal incase master cylinder seeping, bone dry, nothing under the car, and fluid is only dropping very slightly so it must be a tiny leak but could go at any time. He has given me an honest quote of about 6-8 hours labour, but he has said changing the clutch would be a good idea simply given the time it takes to get the gerbox\housing off, change the cylinder and at 50k miles its done and I wont have to worry about the clutch. He said he will do me a decent rate to knock some cash off as they do a lot of work for the family with the various cars\projects. So gonna be about £700 lighter this month, but at least she will be fixed . P2 service coming soon, but half of its been done, clutch fluid, filters are aftermarket and the rest is just a grease of the steering joints\boots, oil n filter change and a brake fluid change, thinking I will do this myself and keep all receipts as proof of change, noting in service book clutch change and self service.
  12. Kept an eye on it and must have a leak as its dropped again, having a look at master cylinder can't see anything, where does the fluid line meet the clutch housing can it be seen without going under the car? I'm going to take it to local indie and get them to fix it as its not something I'd be happy doing on an engine this size I.e physical size and worried I do it wrong or find I have to split the housing etc. Hopefully not a massivly expensive fix.
  13. I will have a look, it may have been low since I got it, but only just now had a look into all the nooks n crannies. However clutch pedal feels correct no softness, no slipping or odd noises during use so hopefully its just an odd reason why its a bit low. Will get garage to have a look at it while he does the service.
  14. I was thinking that, its just because it was a good bit below the minimum line I was worried may have caused an issue. Is it just usual Dot 4 fluid for the clutch?
  15. Hi all, I was giving the car a good wash and once over at the weekend, and after checking the Oil which hasn't moved in a month so far . Anyway I thought I would have a look into the other areas, so started lifting the various panels to check all the main gubbins. I found the brake reservoir looked good, light colour to fluid and in middle of min\max. However the clutch reservoir fluid was much darker, more like syrup colour, but the bit that worried me was that the level was about half a cm below the MIN line. The clutch is operating fine and the fluid doesn't appear to be leaking anywhere. I am aiming to have its next service (p2 I think) done at my local independant garage, where I will ask him to change the clutch fluid. But I will top up the reservoir just now with appropriate stuff. Is this something that has happened to others, a low fluid level, or is it just its been emptied a bit while bleeding last time but not topped up after?
  16. The diff is about 3mm and measuring it accurately with what i had at hand (tape measure) wasnt an exact science. I ordered the smaller size as they look more like it given the 58mm set 'just' fit but wont go flush, the 4mm smaller will. Should have used a micrometer but didnt have one at hand. ah well, for the cost i am not too fussed. But in my defence it was for a 350z on the listing and i wouldnt have expected car manufacturers to have diff wheel centre sizes across their range as cheaper to make tham universal, BMW usually are. Live and learn
  17. Hi folks, I ordered a set of wheel centre caps for the 350 as mine was missing some. They arrived and they seem too big for the wheel hole. They are 58mm but I found another set from same seller but they are 54mm which seems more like it, however they are all for nissan 350 and various other nissan makes. Can anyone tell me what the centre hole size is on standard 6 spoke 18" wheels are. I may need to buy another set.
  18. Parking at the GF's last night, did i not scrape the very edge of the N1 spoiler on the kerb..... Its only the vertical edge of the little sticking out bits and nothing cracked, but what a plonker. It will be easy to re-spray it, i have professional airbrush for small work, but i have never kerbed wheels or struck a kerb before, bleeding typical. As GF says though at least its not broken and easy enough to fix. She could tell i wasnt happy for a while though. Ah well, at least i have got the tradition of scratching, marking...throwing it at a renault tht i seem to do to all my vehicle purchases in the first 2 weeks.
  19. Guess what i just did in my new 350 last night at GF's house.... Fortunately its just the very outside edge of the spoiler and nothing is broken just scraped a bit, about 1/2" square. I can get it resprayed so not too fussed but bloody annoying, i always mark new things some stupid way, its a curse.
  20. Thought so, but always make sure
  21. Are the poppers the things that have a concertina sort of affair going on, or the rubber bungs at the bottom of the bootlid? Are they easy enough to replace if i need new ones, i.e. not wired in or something daft like they are glued in?
  22. Well had the car for a week now and starting to get a feel for it. Makes me smile each time i start it, diesel Audi's do not do this Gave the car a good wash and detail on saturday, unfortunately no pics as was the busiest day ever over sat and sun with bike restoration work, going to the cinema and being out with mates on the big bike on sunday. However the car was given a proper soak and 2 bucket wash with poorboys suds. polished with light polish pad as paint is soft and a wax of auto glym detail finish. Ordered Nissan wheel centres last week so hopefully they will arrive soon and be the right size! Falken 452's arrived and are getting fitted this week, the winetr tyres while good are a bit squishy on left right flicks !! Figured out the sat nav and more improtantly hw to turn it off lol. Had a good look over the car and a few wee issues to sort, such as lacquer peel on a few areas on the near side, and the boot lid was too high on one side, i found that this was due to the bracket beind fitted upside down, so swapped it back and all is flush, however the boot lid doesnt open enough to miss the catch so when i open the boot it catches on the lock again, so need to see if i can get the boot struts to lift it higher?? Other than that all seems well, car runs straight, sounds fine, no hesitation or odd clunks, service is due in a few months i think but should be basic p1 if i am reading it right, but will speak with my indie. Brave pills for the next road tax payment though haha. will get some pics up once all the little bits are sorted. Rick
  23. Picked her up yesterday and began the ritual of putting fuel in.... Lovely thing to drive, but am just pottering about at the moment to get used to it, dont want to have the epitaph of "watch this". lol. will need a bonding session of a wash at the weekend and a read of the manual to see how it all works, at least the fuel cap button was easy to find
  24. Well after a bit of as faff i will hopefully be picking the car up monday next week or so. Really looking forward to it, bar any issues with bank transfers etc. Just getting a little peed off at the constant moaning from folk about fuel economy and that i am daft, and that taking out a personal loan to buy a car is really stupid and i should buy a £2k car to potter about in, and i should have had a mortgage 5 years ago apparently, even though i was with a cow of an ex GF and everyones life is exactly the same circumstances...ggrrrrr Why do pople have to spoil nice things
