  1. Reports today saying that he shot her 4 times through the bathroom door! Personally I think he showed his true colours when he was beaten by a Brazilian at London 2012 and his first comment was "well his blades are too long".

He doesn't seem to take too well to being beaten, so god knows what else could set him off!

  3. Was lovely going to a performance garage which doesn't try to skin you. Jez told me what needs doing for my car, what is urgent, what should be done at the same time to save money and what can wait. Everything which I was advised on was backed up with rock solid justification and wasn't a sales pitch.

Jez and Karl implemented a switch for me to completely dis-engage the traction control which works perfectly and changed my aux belts. His prices for parts are the lowest around and the service was great. I was treated like a valued customer and not like just another job. Will 100% be going back :)

  4. I have NO idea where I got it from! I bought it over 2 years ago, I tried to find the company a few times by going through my PayPal history etc but I can't work it out. It has no brand name anywhere on it, not in the resin or anything, but its really well made, its hit quite a few things and fairly hard hits too, and its never really batted an eyelid at it.

This is what I had on my 350. Loved it, but once I lowered the car down a bit it was catching cats eyes on the road when I changed lane so was a bit of a pain. Would love a version similar just a tad shorter. I could ship mine up if you wanted a proper look. It's covered in small cracks from hitting stuff when drifting, but its pretty much in 1 piece.

Reason for edit: To make it understandable.

  6. Sorry to revive an old thread, but thought you might like to know what they are like, I bought one when they first came out. The bends are all angled wrong and the short one is WAY too short and the long one is probably from another car, I can't even work out how it would fit. The brackets are in the wrong place, the "silicone hoses" are like cheese. The Metal is of a lower quality than tin foil, the air filter is like office paper. The ONLY part of it still on my car is the adapter from the air sensor to the cone. I have a different cone on it though now. That final piece will be gone once my apexi arrives on Wednesday!

  7. I have the silenced decats from crapspeed and they put my exhaust under such tension that it tore the cat in half after 3 months and also ripped my flexi-pipe in half too. I had to have them cut at the flages and then rotated to fit them. I also have a K2 backbox which sounds like its made from a box of nails. Now I'm on the hunt for a buddyclub single exit exhaust. Everything japspeed I've seen for the 350's is shocking.

  8. I'd say gunmetal, it looks really classy and quite understated. I'm not a fan of black alloys as when the car is moving, or in pictures it can look like you have steelies on!

Red would be cool, but you might spend your whole life keeping them clean to look good. Gunmetal would hide a reasonable amount of dirt, yet still look stunning when clean.

What about.... (I know we're not on the early 2000's anymore, but bare with me...) Gunmetal with some red metallic in it? Not the whole I've got glitter over my whole car, more a subtle thing which makes you have to look twice? And only on the alloys it could look quite nice.

  9. The BC racing ones are amazing. I have them and they are the best upgrade I've done. 30 stages (I think!) of adjustability and they have little stalks for reaching through the rear strut to make it easy to change the hardness of ride, just make sure they dont knock on the rear window as its a tad annoying.

So long as you have some spring compressors for removing the fronts and a half decent trolley jack you'll be fine fitting them yourself at home. I did it on the road outside my house. They look really smart and go pretty low too. I found on the softest setting the ride is better than standard on the 350, its so much less crashy with potholes etc. On full stiffness its mental, I normally run the fronts on 10 clicks away from stiffest and the rears on 8 clicks away when I'm drifting.

    Hope this helps,

    Dedman

  10. sounds good. Been looking around at some drifting info. I wouldn't have a clue myself since this is my first rwd car. It does look seriously good fun though. like the video as well. You've got some good skills as far as I'm concerned!

so coilovers are a definite requirement you'd say? I'd guess that really just practicing with the standard car is sufficient to start. I'm guessing there's track days for this?

To begin with I started with an almost standard car, it was only when I knew I really wanted to do track days and drift days etc that I made the plunge for coilovers. The 350's are so capable you can do a lot before you need to change anything.

There's "drift what ya brung" days at santa pod which are £60 if you book in advance and you can go in what they call the playpens, which is a cone and lots of space to start, progressing up to a figure of 8 and then up to two larger tracks. I've never learnt more in terms of driving than at a DWYB day and theres loads of people who will help out. There's also the fueltopia barrel sprint as mentioned above, and theres similar days to santa pod at places like Birmingham wheels.

If you want to give it a go without risking your car, there's plenty of experience days around too where you can use other peoples car's including ones in the Silverstone car parks in 350's!

If you saw any of the crews vs uk videos last year there was a clip of me obliterating a barrel at one of the Fueltopia rounds when I got it really badly wrong lol

  11. welcome

Out of interest what kind of setup changes did you make to the zed for the drifting?

Nothing massive really, as I'm sure you know, it's a really capable car out of the box. I've just put on BC racing coilovers which made a massive difference, I've got a bit of camber on the fronts so that on full lock I still have a decent contact patch with the tarmac. I also have a half decent seat with some 4 point harnesses to pin me down and a switch to completely deactivate the traction control as on the fast long corners it used to reactivate itself and kill everything. Anything else setup wise I'm changing as I get to a point when I need it, I'm doing all my bushings next month to tighten up the front, more as I found out all of mine are dead than needing it done for performance reasons. I feel I will run out of ability LONG before the car does!

  12. Sounds good! I'm a tad broke atm as I found out today my front suspension bushings are knackered! Going to be expensive lol.

I'd highly recommend the fueltopia barrel sprint, its £25 for the day and you get a fair amount of time sliding around. There's also some BDC drivers who go down and give advice too, I learn something every time I go down. My biggest issue with the 350's is that I can't carry more than 2 drift tyres!

  13. If you had met you would remember, he is about 6ft 5" tall, hard to miss.

Oh, must have been thinking of someone else.

The before mentioned images! My car is 100% love or hate. It has a big spoiler which always divides opinion but I have a photo somewhere with evidence that it works from the way the tyre smoke is flowing behind the car. I have standard alloys because I can never decide what to get and then spend the money on other parts  . Currently I have no stickers on the car (some may say thats GOOD!) but I have a sponsor or two to go on for the next season!

Anyway, let me know what you think :teeth:
