  1. If you drive to the conditions then most of those could have been avoided: just saying.

    Bingo.

Some bonkers pace/lines in that kind of weather.

Felt a bit sorry for the Jag XJ though, that looked pretty unlucky to me.

Don't respect the ring, you're going to have a bad time.
  2. Moved from 10 years of Rx7 ownership to a zed after having 5 in various guises.

You can get with seats or with rear bins (so they are called)

They are not as bad as the internet has you believe, i only ever had one self destruct on me, my last one did 20k miles from a rebuild at 450hp-500hp from day one (apart from running in) and is still going to this day, not bad for a £3k rebuild.

You have highlighted the biggest problem yourself, they do not make good dailies for short runs, they like to warmed up and driven and driven hard otherwise they coke and oil themselves up.

However, they are something else and unique with the rotary engine, 50/50 weight distribution and 1300kg give or take, but sadly i wouldnt recommend one in your situation, unless at least once a week you take the long way home and take it to the reline here and there. I would also say, its an advantage if you live near one of the few specialists. You will love it, i can promise you that, just make sure you have the time for one, they need some dedication.

£6-7k should buy you a good almost fresh rebuilt one, gtt's i have seen are closer to 10k

Didn't realise how low in price they are....you've now got me looking again...
  3. Morning.

First off - You wont get stance without springs or coilovers. Will look like a monster truck.

Secondly - Wheel offsets sound fine. Common setup.

Thirdly - To clear the Brembo's, depends on the size

Fourthly - Coilovers don't adjust the camber, you have to buy adjustable camber arms.

Finally - Tyre size, I'm no expert, but I'd be looking at 245/40/18 and either 265 or 275/40/18.

  4. This is a quote from a PM I had with tarmac the other day. I have ordered a set or JR wheels in the fitment he advised to clear the Brembo calipers, and sit closer to the arch without the need for spacers.

18x9.5 ET30 front 18x10.5 ET22 Rear is what we want for the Brembo Z

Unfortunately different wheels and specs with the JR5 and JR11s

YOu learn something new every day! I thought the figures you quoted me were a universal thing for every wheel. Seriously, offsets and the like boggle my noddle!

Sadly not - it depends on wheel designs too, bit of a minefield

I thought it was a walk in the park....:ninja:

  5. I've ordered from DW in the past for many parts and haven't had any issue with them though

+1, in however many years Ive not heard a single complaint about the customer service, they are top lads :)

Except Kam, who doesn't work there now anyway

Kam was an absolute scum bag! Condescending prick!

  6. The seller is Titan Motorports who seem like a reputable company with good feedback. Even had a look at their website. I guess the questions are would it have any differences coming from the USA or does anyone know where these are manufactured?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    They're imported from the States.

I know Tarmac Sportz had a batch recently. Most sold, but he had one or two left, could try him.

  7. I believe that it is a requisite that you provide DW the car details so that they supply you with wheels that fit.

You'd hope, but in the past their Customer Service skills were shocking. I think you'll need spacers on the front. But all depends on the offsets you go.

As Jetpilot said, speak to Tarmac as he's sold a lot of sets to 350z Owners.

  8. I had an MIJ System, drove up to B'ham from Portsmouth, used them on my last car, great quality, decent service.

You'll see the setup, and sound clips in the above link.

Did you get that quote in writing? Or just over the phone.

As I got a quote via email. Was around £400-600, can't remember exact. But basically when I got there, they didn't realise twin system etc, and said it would be around £900.

But since I had the email, they couldn't charge me any more as they'd already quoted me :)

    Little tip there.

  9. Been and done with air, it's only any good for parking up, still need to run it low.

Ye I looked into the BC and they are decent for a drop and also do the "extreme drop" version which might be an option.

    350z's fit 370z's?
