  1. Was at JFE today testing the 370z nismo, met a guy as I arrived back on the forecourt who had just got a 370 roadster, told him about the run and the forum, he said he was busy on Sunday but would join us in the future. Spoke to 3 other non members as well, they said they might turn up, we'll just have to see.

Oh yea, the nismo was pretty good by the way...

  2. I've lived with my unresonated cobra (from cs) for a week now and don't know why I didn't put it on 7 years ago when I got the car. None of the sound clips online really give you what its really like. If you get the chance meet some local owners and listen to them in the flesh.

  4. Good thread!

I looked at these too (and the early R8s, M5, M3, RS4, VXR8, Carrera 4), like Sam, none of the German stuff has any thrill for me and I was lucky enough to get into the heats for the Nissan race academy a few years ago and raced the 370s and GTRs, again ok but no sense of occasion.

I was on a Europe trip a few years ago and a Masser was there, the guy said he had some horrendus bills to fix the stereo and elec windows but he loved driving it, yea it makes a great noise!

I needed a larger (more practical) car last year, so went for a supercharged full size V8 range rover.... F#ck.... ! I love it... Not the best round corners, but feels seriously fast on acceleration and I easilly kept up with a work colleagues 06 350z last week pulling onto the motorway... ha ha ha.. Im smiling now just thinking about it, the torque is crazy and its so quiet and refined inside. its getting 16mpg though!

Anyway, I digress, back to the original question.

I liked both or even the DB9, but I decided to continue to save and aim to get a F430 or a F599. :teeth:

  6. Please sign me up. :)

I understand Crediton might be on the route plan, any idea when you might be passing? I am not sure the A377 from Crediton to Exeter then straight back down it will be the most fun so might wimp out of the beginning :)

Rockingham was a success I am happy to report!

Yea, we might be going through crediton Ben (dont want to give away too much about the route yet), we can pick you up around 11:30 at the shell garage?

  7. With the late(ish) start, by the time we get there lunch will be nearly over and we should have the restaurant and lounge to ourselves but I should think that they will have some left, I'll ask but it might not be as nice as when it was fresh?

We went with the ploughman's as it won't get cold and if anyone is running late it's less of an issue, but they don't usually offer it on a Sunday so I'm having to give a guarantee (£5 pp) to ensure the food they order for us isn't wasted if we don't turn up or don't order it. Rob and I spoke to the forum regarding collecting deposits but it all seemed overly complicated.

It would be great if someone was willing to split the guarantee with me and could give them an aditional cc number on Monday. Nothing would be charged unless we noshow and when we order at least we wouldn't need work out who had paid deposits everyone can cover their own.

  8. Thanks everyone for the offers, in the end I got a good deal on a new unresonated cobra system, its just arrived and I can't wait till Friday when its being fitted.

  9. One thing to remember when shopping around, ask your current insurer what the maximum ncb is that they record. I haven't had an accident in 15 years and was looking around last year. I've got 3 cars at the moment so tried the multi car quote and it worked out cheaper with the new companies maximum 8 yr ncb. When I went back to my insurers to get conformation of the ncb they said they only record a maximum of 5 yes, this took the new quote higher than my renewal and I'm now trapped with my current insurer unless I am prepared to initially see an increase of premiums. Robbing bas#ards!
