  1. Concerning... copied from a good friend's status today:

"I have just witnessed something quite disturbing. I was sat on Margates flood defenses when these two really sweet sounding little siblings (brother and sister I assume) were playing really nicely and enjoying the sunshine, their parents or guardians went and bought some food back for them. After a while the seagulls could smell/sense the food and descended on them to beg for food. What a lovely family I thought. In no less than a minute, the kids (who couldn't have been any older than 8-9 years old) said to the seagulls: "F*** off you immigrant c**ts, get out, this is our country, our rules!!".

..and they wonder why this country is going down the pan. It's not the immigrants, its the disgusting parents who teach their kids this rubbish, in the years when they need nurturing they are being fed this crap. I despair of the human race, I really do.

Oh yeah, and their parents reeked of booze and cannabis, maybe that had something to do with it"

This is not what is supposed to be happening. Yes, I live in Thanet. Yes, I know this area is probably one of the worst for the immigration 'issues'. But CHILDREN? I literally despair of the state of the country right now.

  2. I've just had one fitted by Carhood Warehouse and went for mohair. Looks great, unfortunately the weather hasn't allowed me to actually put the thing down yet!

I notice your car is same color as mine - did you opt for a black hood? I have never really liked the factory blue one that is on currently.

    I did indeed.

  3. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? It's definitely worse when it's warm, I assume it's due to the plastic expanding/contracting etc. Had a quick look and I think I can add a couple of washers to lift the bootlid slightly, or maybe even shift the lid back slightly by loosening the bolts.

I did try to see if there was an existing thread, no joy.

  4. Just be careful if you have a roadster. On the rear, the paint may just come off in a big chunk despite how careful you are, I believe it's because the bootlid is plastic. This happened to me, most infuriating.

  5. I used the Megs metal polysh (spelt correctly). Did a lovely job! The other method is to get some fine grit wet and dry and some cutting compound (all from Halfords). I did that on my FTO before, worked brilliantly.

  6. I got mines done a couple of months ago, I still need to replace the rubbers on it though.

Did you change yours with the new roof?

Nope, they don't change the rubbers or the frame itself. I think mine are all OK (ish), but I guess the next few weeks will tell!

  7. A little 200 mile round trip to Carhood Warehouse in Chessington today, the vinyl roof has gone, and a new mohair one fitted in about 2 1/2 hours. Really pleased with it, they said I may need to look at the window drops though. Highly recommended (at the moment!)

  8. Interesting stuff. I bet there's a vast majority of 'out' voters who think leaving will be like a light switch and the next day all the immigrants (EU and otherwise) will all be thrown on a boat at Dover... I just wish the media wasn't so ridiculously corrupt and more people had access to unbiased information so that they could make a proper informed decision instead of jumping on the Farage bus 😞
