  1. E46 is a very risky car...

I had a E36 M3 Evolution with 330bhp a few months ago, and it feels slowish until 5.5k rpm .... The engine is very similar to a honda, it loves high revs....

Personally i would think twice- only due to subframe issues, vanos issues, and SMG is usually a NO NO!

Agree with Richie- CSL ducktail is amazing!

    Rubbish.

I remember the rear subframes and Vanos being E36 issues, not E46 issues.

Just my knowledge/oppinion. Both e36 and 46 have similar S series engines :)

Checked google just in case- all what I said is true... but I guess it depends how lucky you are...

SMG does sound amazing on papers (all of its features etc)

I did not say- dont buy it... just be aware of possible faults and check before you spend :)) (would love to try a M3 e46 myself)

P.s if you do get 1- ebay, bmw scanner 1.4.0 for 17£ might save you thousands!!! That thing is very easy to use, and will show everything, from a engine or suspension fault, to a non working mirror or heated seat :)

Best of luck if you get 1 ;)

  2. Hey guys, is there any Z members from southampton? In a months time ive seen ~10 zeds that I flashed, waved or came close for a wave... all of them just kept driving :((( was expecting the Z to be more enthusiastic (like the scooby owners :))

So if you see a orange 350 on a private plate waving- it'll be me :)

  3. Im buying , spending and selling for something close what it stands me (with journey to pick up, servicing I did etc)

I know people like to buy a car owned for years, but usually 90% of my cars sell to the first view :)

I stopped modifying cars after I had a 328 coupe, and overdid it (e46 m3 interior, e90 alloys, coilovers, intake, exhaust, and many many manu other things) and when I decided to sell it -no onr wanted it , as most people tend to get stock/very close to stock

    Hello,

First of all- if your looking for a nice looked after 350z- you found one. Im a huge car enthusiast and this year i decided to try out as many top end sports cars as I can. So from January I've been trying cars like WRX,s2k,Type R, E36 M3, Z4 3.0 and Evolution 7(usually for a month or two). This beautiful 350z came to me as a P/X deal for my 370bhp JDM Evolution, and it traveled all the way from Sunderland to Southampton. The car has been always looked after, and benefits from a recent oil change! Due to my new flat the 350z is not so practical, so I want to get a slightly bigger car

MOT: 07.25.2014 (Advisory:rear tires - they have been replaced with 245 Falkens now!)

    TAX:31.12.2013

    HPi:Clean

Service history: Full service history (P1,P2,P3 all done!)

    Mileage: 98466

    Engine:

The amazing 3.5 VQ35DE. Its a very smooth and refined engine- Chain driven, no rattles, no oil consumption , no smoke, smooth idle . 287bhp stock.

Only has 2 mods for a better sound

    Cold air intake

Magnaflow exhaust (Very rare, and great quality! Its more on the silent side, but makes a lovely V6 burble)

Dont be put off by the 3.5 V6 , it delivers unbelievable mpg (Even better then stated on autotrader!) I easily achieve 36mpg on the motorway, and ~24mpg in the city!

    Interior:

Very good condition, everything works, A/C freezing cold

    Rare Alezan interior.

    Heated/Electric leather

    Electric/foldable mirrors

    Cruise Control

    Climate control

    On board computer

    Carbon centre trim

    Exterior:

Rare sunset red in very good condition (Sunset red is the paint name, the car itself is orange)

    Xenon headlights

    Private plate

Original RAYS lightweight aluminium alloys R18 with 225front and 245 rear tires

    Suspension:

GT pack suspension , no knocks, nice and smooth ride quality

    Brakes:

    GT pack big Brembo brakes

    Sound system:

    GT pack 6.1 BOSE speakers/sub

Pioneer SPH-DA100 headunit (Double din DVD,HDMi, iphone/android support, bluetooth hands free!)

Will come with Iphone 3GS 16gb -for all your music needs

    Full service history:

    9221 25.06.04

    16923 01.12.04

    20542 08.06.05

    31647 26.01.06

    52203 17.03.08

    63518 07.11.09

    73193 31.07.10

    85863 18.12.11

    95793 (done on 16.02.13 - oil filter,all oils, sparkplugs-2 spare left etc)

98221 (done on 14.09.13 by myself- Blueprint oil filter and Castrol 5w30 oil)

Lots of papers and MOT history

    2 keys

All of my cars get the required attention by using only the top end parts/fluids,weekly fluid checks, running only on V-Power , and properly warmed up before hitting anything above 3.5k rpm (coolant and oil temp).

So all in all its a great car, ready for the next owner to enjoy. I fancy a swap for something similar but with atleast 4 seats- prefer 630/645/130/330 , E90 coupe, FN2 GT civic,STI Type UK

Priced at : 5795£ (If you want it cheaper- I have the phone number of the old owner that would buy the private plate back)

    Must be seen to appreciate!

  5. But the S2000 is terrific handling - my opinion and I drove one on Track.

The Z4 - Coupe - I felt lacked character, otherwise nice. Very good looking car.

    M3 I reckon - a very properly sorted motor.

Or of course a Cayman - suppossed to be the best in handling.

I had a Z4 3,0 231bhp one, would love to try the 3.0si coup... Not the biggest fan of Cayman, boxster S facelift might be good fun

Test drive before you buy, just see what you fancy the most :)

  6. I asked the same question 350z vs s2k in march .... asnwered it now for myself... s2k is not even worth looking if you want a nice daily car... had a inbetween car in august, BMW Z4 - thats the right drop top - but only with 3.0 manual and sport mode :)

I only do 10miles a day so can put up with less refinement so thats not an issue for me! I ideally would want a black Z but they seem a bit more in price :(

    Go try out a Z , a Z4 3.0 and S2000....

All very different beasts! the Z4 is very similar to the 350z only very agile... Its quicker than s2k, the roof is miles better, the sound system has 10 speakers not 2 (I had AP1 model),better mpg , turns more heads, low end torque is fenominal compared to the s2k :)

I do ~20 miles every day and s2k was not that great... VERY tailhappy when its wet, almost smashed it as I was overtaking some 20mph in a 40 zone in 1st, and when i shifted to 2nd on high revs the back end went.... on quite a straight line...

Here are a few teasers for you (All my toys, had them this year)

p.s as said before- I would not go for GT spec s2k, as its not a convertible any more :))) hard top is too much hassle to take off/put on

  7. Do you even bother to change the Log Book with that short an ownership ?

Seems a shame to add another owner to a vehicle and de-value it.

Have you considered spending more time on research so you end up with something you might like to keep for a while longer.

Or even having a second vehicle - a van possibly - for your moving house ? !!

I always do the log book... Maybe it would be a good idea not to, but how is that done?

I always spend my time researching, but I got in to a habit of 'something different' all the time...

Would love a second car, but cant justify insurance as im only 23... and I already moved in, but lets say this week i decided that i want a different telly :D ... still looking for a coffe table, bar stools .. etc :) and nothing fits in the 350z :)

I dont see it as a bad thing changing cars every month or two :) glad that my 'to try list' is getting smaller and smaller :)))

  9. Hi all,

Looking at changing the oil and oil filter on my JDM. Going to use Fully Synthetic 5w30.

Can anyone recommend an oil filter or will any brand do? (Seen a Bosch one Half price) :)

Assuming I need to go to Nissan for replacement sump plug gasket?

    Thanks

    Blue print oil filter

    5w30 castrol

in my Z , very easy to change, and great location for the oil filter :)
