  1. Glad I'm not the only one that felt this way Meeerrrk. I wouldn't say it was a disappointment by any means, just not what I expected and too refined for what I'm after right now (I'm sure a few £k on mods could easily change this). As a point for comparison....... The previous owner of this Supra has just bought a Litchfield stage 4 MY10 GTR, so about 620bhp. I asked him how they compare and this is roughly what he said...... 'The GTR is fast in a different way. It's power is very progressive, like a constantly building wall of power. The Supra however feels more like someone is ramming their heel into my chest and pushing me back into the seat when it comes on boost' So it's not to say that the GTR is not quick or is a lesser car, far from it, it'd be waaaay faster around a circuit and a lot more confidence inspiring in less than perfect conditions. They just go about being quick in very different ways and in the Supra's case it tends to induce a bit more adrenaline flow, for me at least.

  3. Cheers guys :-) The only real area where a car of this spec suffers a bit is turbo lag, but it is liveable. The built engine helps, as rev limit is upped to 8K to give a more usable power band (depending on gear boost starts around 4K and hits full boost of 1.8bar at around 6K). Also this car has a Syvecs S6 management system, which packs some cool tricks like launch control and rolling anti lag that help. A future change I may also look into is a stroker kit. This kit utilises a crank which increases piston stroke and thus displacement from 3.0L to 3.4L. This results in increased mid range torque and faster turbo spool (due to increased exhaust gas displacement). This is a common setup progression for Supra's with Turbos of this size (T6 80mm).
  4. Lmao, hair is still there...... at the moment :-/ lol
  5. Indeed Doogy. I was looking at R35 GTRs. I test drove one from Tunbridge Wells NHPC and I was very impressed, but couldn't help but feel that it was almost 'too good' at what it did. They are awesome cars and are ridiculously quick, but reasonably undramatic in the process (progressive power delivery, glued to the road handling etc). I'm sure I'll own one at some point when I eventually grow up a bit lol, but for now I wanted something mental. I'd always fancied having a big power single turbo Supra when I had my BPU car and I figured if I didn't do it now, then I probably never would :-)
  6. Lol well it cost in the region of £50K to build I'm told. The advertised price was £35K, but I've sworn blind to the previous owner that I would not disclose the final agreed price. All I'll say is that for the money I paid, I am very happy with the car I've ended up with. It's an absolute ANIMAL and I honestly can't think of many things with more than 2 wheels this side of £100K that can match it for performance or the sheer adrenaline kick it gives when the LOUD pedal goes down :-)
  7. Thanks Doogy, I'm chuffed to bits. Just can't wait to pick her up Monday now....... Time feels like it's suddenly slowed down..... A LOT! Lol
  8. Just managed to get myself my dream Supra and I'm over the moon! (Don't panic, 350 is staying too) ;-) It's a 1000bhp TRD wide body aerotop 6spd Single turbo that I managed to secure through JM imports. I've loved the car for so long and watched it being built over on Supra forums. I've missed having a Supra ever since selling my last Veilside one, but I vowed that if this one ever came up for sale, I'd try my darnedest to get it...... Well that day has finally come and I collect her Monday......... Can't wait!!!!!!! :-p Here's a link to the sale ad on JM Imports website........ http://jm-imports.co.uk/index.php/1996-toyota-supra-gt47-single-turbo-aerotop-6-speed-1000bhp/

    Nismo Exhaust

£1400 is outside my budget unfortunately, so I'm after a good used example.

    Nismo Exhaust

I know it's a long shot and I know everyone must be fed up of seeing 'Nismo exhaust wanted' threads by now, but I thought I better give it another go just incase someone is after selling theirs for some Christmas cash :-) So.... my search for a Nismo exhaust system continues...... STILL lol If anyone has a used example in good condition, please let me know, as I have cash waiting. Thanks
  11. Dammit! I'd have had this in an instant if you weren't so far North! Hell of a journey from Kent for an exhaust, but it is a hell of an exhaust I s'pose :-/
  12. Also, for anyone else who finds themselves in this unfortunate predicament at any point, the 225 tyres fitted to the 8.5jj rims on the rear do not look ovely stretched, maybe ever so slightly more than the front if you really look hard at it, but certainly not noticeably so. So moral is.........check your tyres! lol
  13. Ok guys, had a bit of a measure up this morning, as suggested by Doogy, and it would seem that the rims are thankfully the correct sizes. From inside lip to outside lip (measuring through the spokes) the front rims measured approx 9" and the rear rims measured approx 9.5" (strange, as I thought it would be 8" and 8.5" due to 8jj and 8.5jj sizes, but at least there appears to be a clear 0.5" difference) So, at least now I will only have to approach the dealer with fitting some replacement rear tyres, which I hope they'll do without too much argument, as this should of been picked up by the checks they carried out on the car during prep for sale. Thanks again for your help / advice guys :-)
  14. Cheers for you help / advice guys. I will have a measure up to confirm. If it does turn out to have 8JJ's all round, it does beg the question.... How the hell has a 23,000 mile car that's only ever been back to the original Nissan main dealer ended up with incorrectly sized rims?! Very worrying! :-/
  15. Lol sorry, dumb question I know, but just checking I'm not missing a trick, as 0.5" seems like such a small difference. Guess it's enough to effect how the wall of the tyre sits and therefore how the tyre performs. Also, Do you think I have a good case approaching the dealer over sorting this issue? Cheers for your advice Doogy
  16. I have exactly this problem now. I bought my Zed from a Nissan main dealer, so I'm shocked they didn't spot this. I'm also preying I don't have 8JJ front rims fitted all round by mistake too, as they should be 8.5JJ on the rear :-/ I'm hoping I have your luck when I approach them about it...... could get interesting
  17. Do you mean measuring inside lip to outside lip through the spokes with the wheels still on? Any idea of the difference in measurement I should be looking for?
  18. Was cleaning the Zed today and to my horror I noticed, for the first time since I got the car, that some Klucko has fitted 225 tyres all round!!!! My Zed is a GT pack with Rays 18" wheels and so should be running on 245 rears and 225 fronts I think. I bought the car from the same Nissan dealer (KAP Folkestone) which it was purchased from new by it's last owner and it's only done 23,000 miles. Luckily the car is still within its years warranty, so I'm hoping I have a case to get this issue sorted via that route, as surely a car should be expected to be supplied from a reputable main dealer with the correct factory spec size tyres fitted, on the grounds of safety if nothing else?! Now the panic set in even more when I started to wonder whether or not the 225 tyres on the rear have been stretcheded onto the correct sized 8.5JJ 33mm offset rim (which I think would be possible) or if, even worse, somehow the car has come to be fitted with 8JJ 30mm offset front sized rims all round!!! :-O I know the Rays rims should be staggered, unlike the standard fit Nissan wheels which I think are 8JJ all round. I really hope the rims are the correct staggered sizes, as otherwise I shall have to try and battle for a new set of rear Rays rims refurbed in sparkle silver to match the fronts AND 2 new 245 section tyres! :-( So, my question to you knowledgeable bunch is...... is there any way to easily differentiate between the Rays front 8JJ and rear 8.5JJ rims to confirm if I have the correct sized rims or not without having to jack the car up and take the wheels off (lazy I know! lol). Should the difference in the width of the rims be easily visible if they are correct, as it is quite a small amount to spot by eye without the rims side by side for comparison I would think? Any help / advice would be appreciated muchly ;-)
  19. New Steve? Unfortunately I don't have £1500 spare for a new one atm :-(
  20. Please stop with the 'I Love mine' comments, it's just making me insanely jealous!!! Lol
  21. Bump....... Still waiting for a decent used one of these to come up ............ It appears to be akin to finding a hens tooth buried in a rocking horse turd :-/
  22. Thanks for your response FUG. Yeah, I have seen them, but I'm a bit undecided on them at the minute. I do like the look of them, but being as my Zed is completely stock, was thinking that genuine Nissan items may be more in keeping with that look. Also, for the guys that do have a set of these aftermarket crystal clusters. What's the quality of them like? They don't fog up or anything do they, as I've suffered this problem with aftermarket clusters in the past? Thanks :-)
  23. As per title, looking for a set of clear genuine Nissan rear bumper light clusters (ie want to loose the ugly red fog light on the off-side). Think these must be as were supplied for the import Fairlady models from new, as they never seem to have said fog light. Must be mint, but preferably new. Cash waiting, cheers :-)
