  1. Hey all,

Bit random but looking for a decent beard/stubble trimmer with a variety of lengths.

I've used a number of trimmers with the interchangeable heads that go from grade 1 - 5 but don't rate them. Also used the babyliss istubble which is shocking!

    Can anyone recommend one?

    Cheers 👨

  2. Admiral are no longer on comparison sites, according to my other half who did hers last month.

Just did a quote on confused (which is owned by admiral), they came up top with two of their subsidiaries just after.

24 with a modified V6 for £370, can't complain. Love the Admiral group!

    Is that a 350z?

Confused came back with Bell and Admiral the best at £1450 -£1500 (import)

25 years old with 5 years NCB :S

That's weird as I was 23 with 2 years no claims and it came to £1400 and yes mine is an import which I told them

    Was it modified?

  3. Also the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act was amended in 2012.

It used to state that it was the duty of the policyholder not to make misrepresentations.

It now states that it is the duty for a consumer to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation to the insurer.

I've been a honest guy and declared every modification on the car which is quite a lot. I assumed that they would know it was an import from the registration number. If it doesn't always show imports from registration number then the question should of been asked by the insurer.

They ask about modifications, convictions etc which affect premium so surely it's down to them to ask about imports like the websites do!

  5. The question usually asked on forms is if it is a grey import? Is a grey import something specific or just a normal import?

It would be interesting if they come back saying the question wasn't asked but your insurance still wasn't valid, then ask them to refund the money you paid them to insure the car which wasn't insured after all :D

Surely they can see if it's an import from the reg? No?

    I like your thinking $$$

That was my argument about it showing up with the reg number and she said that not all imports show up as an import. That to me is an obvious reason for them to ask the question and not rely on the customer or by just assuming.

I wasn't asked the question so they shouldn't assume the answer.

I was asked about mods which I declared.

Awaiting phone call for round 2!!!

  6. Hi all,

Have had my imported Zed covered with Bell Insurance for over 18 months now with no problems.

Just been on the phone to them for a renewal price and it has gone up by £800 from the renewal I was given last week!!!!

Queried this and they said that they didn't know in the first place that it was an import and I should of stated that it was an import to the advisor.

My argument was, I gave the registration number to the advisor and if he didn't specifically ask me whether if it was an import then I can only assume he knew.

They are now listening to the original phone call but I don't think I personally stated it was an import. If they asked then yeah I would of said.

Where do I stand on this?

Can't afford £1500 insurance and cheapest elsewhere was £2200!!! Any other good insurers for imports?

    Thanks

  7. Hi

My friend recently bought a 350z with hfc berks.

It makes a really noisey rattling sound between 1000 and 2000 rpm. Doesn't do it whilst stationary.

He took it to a garage and they said that there should be a brace connected the 2 HFCs and may be causing the rattling. All other fixings are solid and nothing touching metal parts.

I thought that HFCs were a lot lighter than stock cats and shouldn't cause a problem without the brace.

Does that sound the likely cause for the rattling?

If so, where can they be purchased or where can you buy some metal bar to make your own?

  8. 330ca I think and 45ah.

The current one Is 330ca but doesn't always seem man enough 💪

I agree. I changed the battery terminals for UK ones then fitted a uk sized battery.

What size battery did you use?
