  1. Then pay over the top for it. Your choice no one is forcing you.

Thanks, i appreciate your advice/idea, but cant really go with that to save money, as it would cost me more in time, and thus be more expensive anyway, as i run a business so its not poss. thanks though

  2. Cheers Arran, thing is mate, i need to use a local firm to fit and carry out a 4wheel tracking, i spoke to some tyre suppliers who just supply, and well mate, i cant be done with a bloke jacking up my motor and fitting at home, cant be as good can it / or lugging them to a garage to fit, then paying the extra.

gotta be easier all in ?

? 1 its the same really. 2 why not just buy tyres online from camskill, mytyres, black circles etc etc and ask your garage to fit them?

    +1

Mm, but then i have to lug them down to the local garage, (some of whom are not happy to just fit, so i understand), too much messing about, have to be home to take delivery of said tyres, wont get them in Zed i doubt, and im lazy !!!! lol.

  4. thats what ive read, theyre okay for family run about cars. Bloody annoying because the tyre place i spoke to, (a customer of mine) gave me the that ol chestnut about how brilliant they are on sports cars etc etc. Then i read the reviews and as you say, okay on the micra or mondeo, crap in light snow, very noisy. positive remarks seem to come from average family car drivers.

Okay, back to the drawing board, cancel my verbal order on the falkens i think, back to vreds i think

  5. guys, i have lots of patience, except when someone gets abusive and call me a DICK !!, totally uncalled for. I am not an engineer or mechanic type of guy, and i have heard rightly or wrongly of wider tyres being put on slightly smaller wheels. in any case isnt a forum all about education, chat and sharing information.

so thanks to everyone who have been positive (most, if not all bar one). imho there have been too many squabbles on forums which always end in tears, and lfe is far too short for that.

OKAY, I have been getting prices today, and have been surpsised to learn that availability of many of the popular brands is pretty limited in the two sizes (front and rear) if you want to keep the same tread pattern.

I ended up with a good quote for 4 vredestein sasseena (or something like that) at £610. fully incl, and incl a 4 wheel allignment. (Watling Tyres)

THEN, i was offered from a local garage 4 falken ZE912 s at £600 all in with the alignment. I have said yes to these, but now im home, and have checked the reviews are mixed, some are complete "$hite, dont touch them, and some are wow, theyre great.

how confusing lads, on the other hand the Vreds have nothing but praise, so ive answered my own question i suppose, Get the Vreds.

Any comments please on the Falken 912, s ?, HELP me, im just a troll after all, (whatever that is)

  6. cool, will make a note, at the mo, there is little tread left on the bridgestones, esp at the edges, and the car is very skittish when you first get going, and it does not improve much, its like driving on cross plys in a classic, you know, like when you used to hit the white lines, all over the shop. plus its a nightmare when wet.

    don.
