  1. Well, some of you may have seen my other thread about my car getting keyed on almost every panel. It was so bad, and along with a scrape on the front bumper and stone chips all over the front end, it made sense to get the whole car resprayed. So here it is after a quick wash this morning. Delighted with the job, it's like brand new again!

I've also spent the last few days with the seats out using the Gliptone leather repair. Overall, I'm fairly happy with them. Although if I was doing it again, I would definitely use a spray gun and would do the whole seats, as opposed to just the bolsters. When using a sponge, you're obviously always going to get some streak marks. I'm hoping these will wear in a bit with some use though.

    Here some photos anyway.

Next up at the end of the month is a Cobra exhaust, as mine is blowing. Full pelt P3 service with everything getting done and then the first MOT I've had to get on a car in years!!

Also had the road tax this month, so it's been an expensive wee time. The car will be in A1 condition once it's all done though!

Oh, also ordered some trim dye. Going to see if I do something about the rubber trim which is looking slightly perished...

  2. Ok, well I've found this guide from another forum for anyone else who is interested..

    http://www.team-integra.net/forum/blogs/morningz/160-restoring-exterior-trim-pieces-supplement.html

The guide is a bit old, this seems to be the up to date equivalent product.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Forever-Black-Bumper-Cleaner-Reconditioner/dp/B001MPY436

Unless anyone else has any other product suggestions, I will order this and do a guide showing how I get on.

  3. Was just wondering if anyone has ever resprayed these or used some sort of product to bring some life back to them.

I've just had the whole car resprayed and now my strips are somewhat perished and discoloured, so would like to bring them back to black if possible!

    Cheers.

  4. Well, the car has been in for a full respray, and all I've got to go on while I'm offshore is this shitty photo off my dad's awful camera phone!!

Very annoying, better photos to follow when I get back from offshore a week on Thursday... Excited!

  5. I stay in Rosemount, with a gunmetal 350z.

I walk past a gunmetal 370z also on Rosemount all the time, going between mine and my brothers.

There's a white 08 350z, just down the road from me and I saw another white 350z with a private reg in Rosemount yesterday. I'm pretty sure Rosemount is the Z capital of Britain (Aberdeen).

  6. Not cool at all, was this in Aberdeen?

Actually I just answered my own question :)

If it helps at all mate which I doubt it will, I stopped by your car last Thursday to admire your wheels as I was driving down your street. There was definately no scratch marks on it at that point.

Looks to me like some drunken knobs. I used to stay in Watson street and on more than one occasion I caught some 18+ drunken arseholes walking down the street kicking off wing mirrors and booting in doors for nothing more than drunken fun!

Must have been Thursday night it happened then, cos I got back on Friday. Just gotten round to sorting everything now. There's no CCTV anyway, so it doesn't really help!

Not sure whether to put the car in to get done when I go away this time, or leave it a while. Would be gutted if it just happened again straight away. Would have been better off leaving it at my Dad's house in Shedz!

    What is it you're driving?

Maybe a wise move leaving it a trip or so.

I've got a midnight blue HR with factory fitted nismo kit and LMGT4s. Was liking the colour of your wheels as I was considering bronze when I get the refurb done.

Interesting, haven't seen you about before. Will keep an eye out.

Well, car is going to my dad's mate next time I'm away. Will probably keep it up at my Dad's for a while after. Will post up photos when it's done.

  8. It's definitely not anyone I know! Live in a pretty nice area, we're in a flat on the street, but the rest of the houses are all massive mansions. So it's pretty bad for little minks coming down and trying house doors/car doors and for vandalism.

Spoke to the Police. Not really anything they can do, no other cars were targeted. The fact that someone's badly attempted to copy the Z logo on the back bumper suggests to me that it's just jealous little kids who didn't like the fact someone had a nice car with funcy alloys on it.

Not going to bother with insurance, not worth the hassle of losing no claims and all the effort involved trying to get a settlement. They also would only be looking to do the keyed panels as opposed to all the stonechipped ones as well.

Just going to get a full respray in the same colour, so it'll only have to be the exterior done. Not as much work. He says he'll take both bumpers and bonnet off and do them seperately then just cover windows etc to do the rest, for £1500.

To be honest, the bodywork/paint wasn't in that great a condition beforehand, so I probably would have looking to get it resprayed at some point anyway. This has just kind of forced my hand!

  9. So, got home from offshore to discover that my car has been totally keyed to f*ck. Almost every panel. Not so good.

The panels that haven't been affected - the front bumper, front quarters and so stone chipped anyway that I'm pretty much looking at a full respray!

Not sure if it's worth going through insurance, been quoted a pretty good price by my Dad's mate for the full respray. Plus no claims/premium won't be affected...

Anyone else been through this before?

  10. Bit of a weird one this, as I can't really think what's down there that would make this noise.

When I turn corners or sometimes when I brake, I'm hearing scraping noise which sounds like something sliding from side to side from the rear end of the car.

As if there was something in the boot!

    Any ideas?

    Cheers.

  11. Also, worth mentioning, Clark Motorsport in Kintore will be happy to fit any parts that I supply including full service kits for P1, P2 and P3 servicing schedules.

    Alex. :)

Excellent, will be giving you a shout later in the year then.

    Johnny,

here's meh, looked at your thread for your car, will keep an eye out.
