I've just got back from France road trip and found the toll roads a pain in the backside.
All the ticket and pay booths are are the wrong side of the car.
Try and get a prepay pass. Would make it easier and faster to get through booths.
Have a great time. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸºðŸ‡«ðŸ‡·ðŸ‡«ðŸ‡·ðŸºðŸ‘ðŸ‘
Yeah, we have the RFID Toll Tag things so we can fly straight through most of them without even stopping :-)

Well, after a year off in 2015 we're soon to depart for our third Euro Road Trip with a fleet of seven cars bound for the Alps. This year's motors include;
TVR Tuscan 4.0 Mk1.5
TVR Tuscan 4.0 Red Rose Mk1
SL55 AMG
RX7
Lotus Elise w/ Honda Civic TypeR engine
335i
Z4
At 11 days it's a long trip, but we're cramming in most of our favourite passes and we're doing fewer miles per day than previous trips so we can cram in a few more stops for photos, aerial footage from the drone, a few afternoons rock climbing and a stop at a WW2 fort in France.
The route will look something like this;

You could also use H-Dev - straight up the A34 near Chievely

Bike engines and gearboxes aren't designed for the weight so I understand failures are more likely, but from what I've seen they go like stink when they're working.
Supercharged Zetec FTW

I know I've already said it, but... TVR! Frigging awesome in this weather - and the noise!

TVR! You'd struggle to get a Tuscan for that budget now, but a Rover V8 powered Chimera would go well.

I'm glad you're all ok, but it does sound like you were being a bit stupid tbh.
Insert usual comments here about;
Own stupid fault
Racing on public roads
That's what track days are for
Leaving the safety systems ON
T-Cut banter
Write-off speculation
Driver training courses
Etc...

Buy a TVR. The handling is so bad that even 50mph can be petrifying and you'll earn loads of points down Shell / Tesco / BP / etc.. too because the economy really is as bad as they say. Get loads of comments from people about it too

A yank review of the Tuscan. He's right about most of it...

P=IV, so assuming an 85AH battery and 12V, you have about 1kWh of power... Should give you a good few hours of radio playing before the juice gets too low to turn your lump over. Probably.

Welcome!
Sorry to hear about your Z. Got any pics of it?
-
Nice start.
The picture will look a whole lot more impressive if you change the background... Try going out on a clear night and see if you can get a well illuminated car AND see the stars. Or park it in a layby and try to capture other cars tail lights as long red blurs in the background.
-
Best thing you can do is just play around and note down what settings you used, what worked / what failed, etc... This way you learn through experience instead of being spoon fed.
-
How was it on the track?
Didn't get it out on track, I was only there as a passenger... next time

Went to a track day at Abingdon last Friday - went in the Tiv bit didn't take it out - just went as a passenger with a couple of mates in their respective RX7 and Elise as they are both fairly new to track days - 3rd day for one of them and 1st day for the other.
The RX7 driver was quite reserved, the Elise driver had a couple of spins
Anyway, here's some pics...
Left to right:
TVR Tuscan, M12 Noble, Cayman GT4, F430 Scag, Z4 3.0
Left to Right:
Honda-Civic-engine'd Elise, RX7, M5 (straight-through exhaust; didn't go out but sounded excellent), V6 Exige, TVR Tuscan 4.0, M12 Noble Twin Turbo V6, Cayman GT4, F430 Scag, Z4 3.0

Took the Tiv to Costco a few days ago with the Mrs - as we were getting out a guy came over with his daughter... "this is my favorite car ever - can I take a picture of it with my daughter for the Mrs?"
Heh, of course I let him... never had that with a car I own before... cheered me right up!

Didn't pop over, but looked like your car was going well. I was passengering in my friends' black RX7 and blue Elise. Couldn't get my TVR out - 99dB static! :-/
-
I have the car back, and in working condition again - woo!
To celebrate - here's some exhaust noises for you from last night's drive (audio only)

Love this hotel, we went there last year for a couple of days, we were in the same bit as you, in fact I think it may have been that exact room. What was the name?
Love the TVR.
Can't remember the name of the room, but it's basically the honeymoon suite. Eye watering costs, but I only plan on having one honeymoon, so screw it!
-
So what car did the other guy buy and how were your views differing? I know these are more humanistic questions than car, but group ownership always fascinates / worries me, so I'm interested to understand what happened with you guys?!

Road tests are a must imho.
Things are not progressing well at all. I'm tempted to just have another garage take it off their hands.

Father in law has a full set of spare wheels for the Tuscan S with tyres although not sure how much life in them but could find out, he brought a brand new set at some point even though the set on the car werent bad he just wanted it immaculate for TVR shows etc, and still has the old set laying around since his Tuscan tried to kill him he has no use for them. In case you want a track set or a set to get re-furbed
Thanks, but no thanks.

Always eventful... First night in France and the 335i rolls in to the car park with a massive oil leak from the oil filter housing. Managed to find and fit a spare from the local BMW dealer.
Visited a WW1 Fort. Brutal / Impressive / Sombering.
