  1. I'll have a think about ARBs. I don't mind a bit of body roll, as long as it's controlled. Improves agility in direction changes though, I suppose?
  2. Butcher, thanks a lot for that reply. Exactly what I wanted to hear! I'll be looking at bushes next if I'm still not quite happy with the car. ARB's are at the back of my mind, but I think I can resist that for a bit longer... One of the things I love about the zed is the ride. I went 6 months without driving it and had forgotten how compliant the ride is. Like you say, I don't want to compromise that with the coilovers at the lower end of the market. Bilsteins seems like a decent compromise, hoping for a bit more control on A and B roads without destroying the ride. I'll feed back my feelings once I've got them fitted. I've been wanting to try some decent quality dampers like Bilstein on a car for a while now and this seems the perfect opportunity, the standard damping just feels a little too soft at speed. I also like the idea of non-adjustables. I assume the chap from Bilstein has a better idea of setting up dampers than I do. Or at least I hope so! Tarmac, cheers for the offer, but I've got my heart set on the Billies now!
  3. Yeh, still not much noise about them on the US forums either. Roundabout £500. I was looking at coilovers for a bit, but I'm not yet sold on them. I want to maintain the standard ride height and spring rate, just looking for a little more damping performance. And I not desperate to get adjustables again, I could never stop tinkering with them on my old car! These seem like they could be the best fit for my requirements, but then the worry is they won't be different enough to the standard dampers. Only one to find out...
  4. Hehe, I thought this might be the response. Google came up with next to nothing on the topic! No matter, I'm happy to be the guinea pig on this one. Once I get it done, I'll pop back on with some feedback. Cheers
  5. A good afternoon to you all. I'm considering a set of Bilstein B6 for the zed to add a bit more body control and reduce some of the bounce and float I get on country roads. Anyone have any experience of these? I rarely go on track, so am looking at these as a 'fast road' upgrade... Any advice greatly appreciated.
  6. Thanks for all the welcomes guys, seems a friendly crew here
  7. Haha, don't want to go too crazy with modding, just a couple of little tweaks to suit my tastes. I think some induction/exhaust tinkering is required to make that wonderful engine a bit more audible inside the car. I was thinking of a lightened flywheel, I'm not in love with the way the revs die so slowly when changing up, but not sure I could live with the clatter. Oh, and I'll probably uprate the pads for the inevitable trackday. Actually, a head unit with ipod connectivity would be nice. And some clear front corner reflectors. And a remap...
  8. Ah Nismo exhaust Beavis?! How's that on the motorway? I assume I don't need to ask how great it is round town or out on a drive
  9. Cheers for the warm welcome guys Looks good! Not sure what I'm doing yet that weekend, but I'll keep it in mind I'll keep an eye out. Any excuse to fire up that V6
  10. It is a great colour. The Z seems to be rare enough to still be an interesting sight on the roads, but common enough to allow you to be quite picky in the second hand market. Or maybe I was just lucky that the exact spec I wanted came up at the right time. Had to be 2006, GT pack, Rays, that nice deep grey (don't know the offical paint name!) and with the optional cubby hole (ie no satnav!)
  11. Hi all Been poking around the forum for a few weeks now, so thought I'd pop up a quick hello. I have been the very happy owner of my 350z for just over three weeks now, so still early days but enjoying it immensely. I believe it to be completely standard, all I've done so far is order some non-budget tyres, book a brake fluid change and buy a cassette adapter for my ipod! Based near Bristol but currently working in Crawley, might need to meet up with some other members soon to sample exhausts. Coming from a 306 Rallye I'm struggling to get used to how quiet the standard system is! And of course, a quick pic of the motor
