  1. I hear you but if my service book records 1200 mile over two years between oil changes would you really expect people to be asking that question. I may change they oil as you say & keep a receipt for it to show. But what's to say if someone did that that the receipt wasn't for another car etc.

  2. I took mine off the road almost a year ago. Was only meant to be for the winter but with family life & house renovations getting on the way it's likely to be in the garage on a trickle charge for the next winter at least. I didn't service it before it came off the road as it had only done 1200 miles with the oil still looking fresh. The intention was/is to have her serviced as soon as she's back on the road but by then it could have been1.5-2 years with no stamp in the book. I don't see that as an issue personally.

  3. Good response & fair points made but I'm with Ekona too on the test drive. If I like a car then I want to drive it first as a dealer I'm pretty sure you can gauge most people in their intent to buy or not so I can't see why you wouldn't do a test drive if they didn't seem like tyre kickers.

  4. Saw a 370z night blue in Aberdeen about two months back. Have to say its the nicest colour I've seen on the 370z although having a 350z in the same colour I may be a little biased. Set the curves of the 370z off lovely

  5. I've kept mine as long as possible but as much as I don't want to sell it's time she went to an owner who's going to use her instead of sitting parked up in the garage for most of the year on a trickle charge! Be gutted to see her go but once the little ones here there's zero chance of me finding time to drive & enjoy her.

  6. Possible sale of 57reg HR 350z GT with factory fitted nismo body kit & 19"lmgt4's. Has FS with 18400 miles on the clock MPSS tyres all round. Night blue in colour.

  7. I have a GM HR gt 313. 2008 {57} I've managed to keep it with one child but another due in November so it will have to go unfortunately. wanting to hold onto it as long as I can So later in the year is ideal. Let me know if it may be of interest.

In the exact same boat fella. Baby no2 due in September. Cars barely done 1000miles in last 18months.

  8. Only live once right!!

Very true but what you need to do is apply that thinking to houses....I don't know what house prices are like where you live, but around Leicester a large detached house with a double garage in a nice area is at least £500,000 - This is the price range our next house will be in.

Monthly payments mortgage payments on a £400,000 mortgage is £2000 a month at 3.5% interest 5 year fixed assuming 20% deposit. IF you can put down a larger deposit, and drop the mortgage to £250,000 your monthly payments go down to £1,000 month, because you can now access products that offer 2.2% fixed, and a lower initial borrowed sum.

Your personal situation may be different, but the same principles apply. The bigger you house deposit the cheaper your monthly cost, and by a substantial margin!!

So you can use the philosophy of 'Only live once', but if you try to budget and plan for 5 years ahead your could save your self ALOT of money by tightening the belt for a relative short time period now....And once the house/mortgage is sorted your have lots more disposable income to waste on what ever you like. Personally I much rather pay £1000 a month on my mortgage rather than £2000 a month, but for that to happen we have to squirrel away like mad for the next 5 years.

But swapping a car to change the monthly payments from £294 to £219, whilst going from a diesel to a turbo petrol performance car...I'm sure it'll be great fun, but don't kid your self that your actually making any serious attempt to save up any money towards a house....Manmaths or not :)

    Exactly this.

  9. How about a 330 clubsport? That's what I was leaning towards for around the same price and probably less depreciation.

Only thing that stopped me was I just wrote my skyline off and the insurance company would've seen me coming at renewal time

Well that was freaky. I was busy typing the above when you posted. Good shout

  10. As others have said its worth taking the hit now car wise for a better outlook in the years to come.

Why not buy something like a 330 club sport..

Interesting enough all rounder & holding their value at that price point. Sell up in a few years for near enough the same money when your in a position to buy something nicer.

As much as I love my cars I have & would always make the sacrifice when needed & so far it's worked out very well.
