  1. appreciate what the moderator is saying about looking for the guides relating to the trim, but many of them just say 'remove trim using a trim tool'.... which is no good for a complete newbie like me...

i have the same tool as the OP, but still have no idea how to use it...

i'm looking to do a rear brace replacement soon, and will use this guide, viewtopic.php?f=35&t=40984&hilit=+brace+cover+guide+rear , but so often things just say 'use a trim tool'...

even in this guide the guy breaks his trim!

i may also need to fit a bluetooth kit, so again, there is a handy guide on here, but it also says, very casually, Using a trim tool unclip the glove box floor panel,....

how? where do i start? is it basically like putting a knife in? if so, why not just use a wide knife?

sorry, but i am a massive newb at doing anything to my car myself, and i think it can be very easy for people to make assumptions about what people are actually able to do.

maybe the answer is - man up and try it... but with so many guides saying how easy it is to break the trim (and some of the people actually writing the guides end up breaking their trim!) i am, frankly, scared.

    help appreciated.

  2. hoping someone here can help...

i have one of these tonneau covers (i am a complete zed novice and it would appear this is a bit of a bonus judging from the number of people who want them!) but it has broken at the top where it attaches to the underside of the brace.

seems that he small rubberised plug which attached to the brace and held the thread has worn away.... means there is nowhere for the screw to actual, err, screw.

apart from bodging something together with superglue, are there are better fixes/suggestions out there?

thanks in advance from a novice... this place has already been invaluable to me!

  3. Loving Forza 4. Is anyone level 150 yet..? I'm level 76.

I own six Zed's of various stages of tune...

Of course I have one resembling my real life Zed as closely as possible... adding the mods I have (cone filter air intake, freer flowing cats and exhaust) improves the performance more than real life...

My wife thinks I'm mad for driving the car so much in the game when I have a real one in the drive. Fair cop! :D

    lol

i so similar things in GT5 on my ps3... always wanted a lancia delta integrale and will take anyone on in my beast! :-)

as for more gaming news, if any of you love a bit of retro gaming and have apple products, you could do worse than hook yourself up with some free wolfenstein 3D action... i remember playing the original and thinking games would never get any better than that!

  4. I call it 'Orange and Black' - its a cultural insight into the misgivings of modern society where rules and regulations fail to adhere individuals and groups to the ethnic presumptions acquitainted with said cultures.

Print 1 of 1, uber rare, open to offers before I put it up at Southebys

    :p

    mark, is that you? ;)

  5. I can understand the value of the cars though, the time, the materials, the effort - its all tangible. Admittedly that picture took time, skill and effort, but not even a fraction of what fifty million quids worth of cars would take.

If it was a picture that only that artist could have produced, then maybe yes there is something to it, but to be honest I could fake one that in about an hour, write his name on the bottom of it, and any 'expert' with millions in their pockets would stand there taking in its majesty and talking about what its saying etc.

if you genuinely believe that, give it a try.

  6. it is a slightly unrelated to the boot opening thing, but is still boot related...

the barrier that you screw in between the two sections of the boot.... mine is loose on one of the top screws. the plastic bushing (is that the right word?) that slots into the hole belwo the strut and keeps the female screw section into which you screw the, erm, screw has come out.

this means i cannot keep it tight and it rattles.

i have now decided to take the whole barrier out, but would like to have the option to put it back in.

is this a common thing? any simple fix? as will be coming across loud and clear, i am not that technically minded but am very willing!

  7. I think I must just be at a lower state of consciousness than the rest of the world, because I really really can't see why you'd buy some orange wallpaper instead of (for example) a car collection to rival Jay Leno's.

    DB

each to their own. may be that the person who bought this cannot understand why anyone would spend time on the internet talking about cars? :p

even if i didn't like art, which i do, they aren't making any more of these... so like jay's cars, they'll only get more valuable.

  8. hey,

there may be something like this on here already, but i had a little look and couldn't find one so thought... i'll start one.

does exactly what it says on the tin. post funny video clips etc that you think we should all see.

i'll start with one which makes me laugh...

    drunk people are funny.

(can't work out how to embed them - any help appreciated!)

  9. i was up there for a stag a couple of weeks ago - depends when you get there, and costs etc, but we went to the casino on friday afternoon.

there were 18 of us and we booked two croupiers and played poker.

i had never played before, and the croupiers were really helpful, letting you know the rules and helping with the betting... it was a great laugh, getting beers and hanging with your mates.

manchester235 it was called... as for bars and clubs, there are tonnes of them. i'd try and split the groups a little, but that is the same pretty much anywhere.

we went to fac251. it was a bit young for us - we are mid-30s - but there was no bother, and jesus was the scenery good.

  10. riiiiiight.....

so, seems my initial fears about doing this myself are well founded...

my need for a pro seems even more urgent. seems envy are too far away from me, so i will have to look at a local alternative if there are no personal recommendations.

i'll report back on my findings... which will be based on all my experience on the subject ;)

  11. I still call myself a gamer, but i just cant get into games nowadays. The last game i really got into was F1 2011 which was awesome, but i end up playing them for 2 weeks and then not touching my xbox for 3 months. It drives me mad though as i love gaming, i just dont have the stamina anymore!

That said, my memories of gaming are more important to me... the SNES was my golden era (i guess you could call this retro now?)... so much so that i stayed up till 3am this weekend just gone playing on my homemade arcade machine...! A bit of F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, DOOM, and then finished off on Mario Kart 64. :cloud9:

that's quality.... i was an awesome sfII turbo player.. still remember the snes cheat for 10 stars... down, r, up, l, y,b for ten stars on the 2nd controller.........HADOKEN!

know what you mean about games.... i do not play them with the same dedication as i used to which means i play games differently. i want action, get in, have fun, get out... can't do storylines etc too much anymore.

i get annoyed when i come back to an adventure game after a few weeks and i have no idea which village i have to go to, and which villager i need to pass the magic rabbit foot to....

give me guns, cars, football or small arcade games all the way now.

anything by pixeljunk on the psn.

  12. seems it is like a gamers paradise in here....

bf3 is the best game i have played in a long time. with a decent team, people on their mics and some teamwork going on, there is nothing else better.

i love rush on damavand peak and bring a hummer all the way from the back, driving it off the helipad, jumping out, pulling my chute late and flying straight into the objective shooting people from above... never really works, but i feel like jason bourne and james bonds love child...

no doubt that playing games is good for your driving skills... check this kid out... from wales, wins a GT5 competition based on gaming laptimes - boom - he's racing in a pro-team for endurance races in.... 370Z GT4 race car :-)

  13. wow - that was a quick response.

i am out and proud about being a gamer. love them. loved them when it wasn't cool, and now most of my mates are gamers in one way or another.

i'd rather game than watch tv. i have even managed to get the lady involved - not full on fps action, but she loves a bit of plants vs zombies....

i'll add you barryrob78 - same username for me as well. :-)

currently trying to decide if i get a ps vita, or spend the money on some bits for the motor... it is proving a very, very difficult decision. someone in the office brought in their vita and that is one effing sexy piece of kit....

  14. why hello.

the username says it all... i am a gamer, always have been, always will be.

just wondering if there are any other ps3 gamers out there?

i'm a massive battlefield3 player, but also loving the new batman and for a more old-school feel, rayman origins...

i may be on my own here, but if there are other gamers out there, you can always chat games with me.

  15. hey barry,

if i cannot think of anything to do with the space instead of the satnav, i'll be keeping it.

would rather have something else in there, so if i, or one of the other people on here, can come up with something interesting to do instead then i'll let you know.

hope you are enjoying your new zed as much as i am.....

  16. howdy.

bought myself my first zed (04 plate GT) last week, and love it. loooove it.

but... as with everything i love, there are a few things i would change (ale without hangovers, computer games without being shouted at by screaming racist american kids, festivals without rain etc) and am on the case with a few spares to change how it looks - at this stage it'll only really be cosmetic stuff. my ability to change and mod things is up there with katie price's ability to be under-stated and demure, so lets stick to skin-deep things for now...

i hate the sat nav. hate it. so, i want it changed - but i will probably just use some kind of tomtom thing that the missus has, so i don't really need another sat nav in it's place...

so i'm looking at either leaving it in there and just closing the door on it and being annoyingly reminded by the lady everytime i drive near the congestion charge zone (thanks for that - the massive signs and living in london for years means that is not very helpful), or maybe there is something else i could do with the space.

i am currently looking for a flux capacitor to do some fluxing, but until i find one, are there any other suggestions or smart ideas?

the floor is yours fellow zedders....
