  1. Brand new and unused in original packaging. Just finished my head unit install today and ended up not needing this. £15 delivered via BT or PPG.
  2. We just got it working. I'm not technically minded but it had something to do with some lead not supplying power. Bit of a relief really as we were about to give up! Just applying busters hack now to bypass the need for a line booster and we'll be good to go. Thanks to everyone for their help and sorry for being such a pain!
  3. OK, currently at attempt 2 and haven't actually managed to get any further, unit powering up but still no sound. All fuses are OK, located the amp to make sure there is still voltage going to it and its fine. One thing we have done is just twist the 2 remote amp turn on leads together from the 2 looms. We haven't soldered them, just twisted together. Do you think that would make a difference?
  4. Lol, yeah we re-attached the original head unit only to find that it doesnt even turn on! We did check the fuses at the beginning when my brother electrocuted himself (some sparky!) and thinking he may have blown a fuse! Only the 12v cig socket fuse needed replaced which I was needing to do for a while. Does the amp have a separate fuse to the head unit as remember, the new head unit was powering up fine. Hopefully we'll make some progress tomorrow!
  5. Thanks for your help mate. I definitely have the correct loom for Bose with steering wheel controls. The black wire with hoop connector is wired to the chassis so it is properly grounded, hence the reason it powers up. For your last 2 paragraphs, do you mean amp power power rather than sub power? We connected the blue/white amp turn on wire to the blue/white remote start up wire on the HU. There is defiantly power going through it, but my feelings are the amp isnt being turned on. Would wiring this to a head unit power cable be sufficient? I will look up all the guides once again!
  6. So there is no direct sub input to the OEM loom/Bose amp? I was guessing it would be the same as my home theatre amp, when listening to 2 channel audio, frequencies below 100/120hz are directed to the sub since there is no dedicated sub channel. So if theres no issues with grounding the factory head unit, why the hell wont it switch on?! Was that an issue with power or just sound? As I said, I do have power, just no sound! Will be at this all afternoon tomorrow. Will report back how I get on but any further comments would be appreciated!
  7. We didnt actually install the head unit into the cabin, just held it all loose to ensure everything would work before going any further. We obviously didnt get much further though! We did ground the aftermarket loom to the chassis and the unit powered up, cd played but no sound. I have followed the guide as per the link Buster provided but we didnt do any soldering, just a plug n' play type job to get the unit up and running. As I previously said, we definitely had the remote amp leads connected correctly. As for reconnecting the original head unit, I thought there was no separate grounding required? Any ideas on the sub question? Are all LFE's directed to the sub from the front and rear channels? I will be directing my brother to the forums. Being a sparky, I thought it would be a problem! Thanks again folks.
  8. The title says it all, but I have scoured through the threads for the solution but still stuck. The head unit I have bought is a Pioneer F900BT and im wiring it to a 2003 GT Bose system. I have bought all the correct cables and accessories as per the guide. I have attached the amp turn on wire to the correct connection but still no luck. It would appear that all the RCA cables and everything else are wired up correctly. I have even checked all connections to make sure there is power! The amp turns on fine and a CD plays but no sound at all. It could a bit cold and the group of 3 of us that were hard at work gave up for the night. We reconnected the Bose unit but now that doesnt work too! Despite connecting everything up correctly, the original head unit doesnt turn on at all! Has anyone else had similar problems or know of a solution? We will be attempting this again tomorrow afternoon so any help would be appreciated. Lastly, why doesnt 29-674 loom not contain dedicated sub rca's? Is it that there is no dedicated sub input and all LFE's are channelled to the sub by magic or is there some other trickery?
  9. Sorry to hear your dad mate, never a nice thing. As Stephen said, keep positive, it gets easier with time. Im afraid I have no choice but to ask, despite it being a bit rude - how much did you get for the fiesta?! To be honest, I would be chuffed if you made a wee profit from it, I just didnt want to be stuck with 2 cars! I assume it ran well the month you had it? Good to hear that you got the car you wanted though, I bet you're getting less stick at work with it! When your ready to sell up, give me a shout, I might just be in the mood for a change!
  10. Its a lot better now after a bit of tlc from me, the previous owners never took the time to appreciate it The cheek! Just remember James, I know where you live, any more comments like that and you'll get a slap! Alright Stephen, hope your doing OK mate And i'll be straight on the phone to the cops Hows the Fiesta, do you still have it?
  11. Its a lot better now after a bit of tlc from me, the previous owners never took the time to appreciate it Its in good hands now Stephen although a bit further north now!
  12. You can close this one now mods, ive sourced a head unit off ebay
  13. Yeah its amazing, just want to drive all the time, but the cost of fuel is just incredible, I spent £265 in my first month! Took it for a 260 mile road trip the other weekend and didnt want it to end. I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with the lack of power coming from a bike, but keeping warm and dry with still plenty of power is nothing to complain about! Feel free to get in touch when your home, i'll be more than happy to meet up.
  14. Hi Sam, thought I would return the welcome message! If you want to drool over a zed before you buy one, i'll be more than happy to show you round my motor. I just like the showing off part really since im still a relatively new owner
  15. As per title, looking for a new Pioneer head unit. Preferably with sat nav but would be happy with something along the lines of a 3200BT, as long as it has a front loading SD slot
  16. Spotted today just before 5pm. Was at a standstill awaiting traffic to clear and then went racing off down the road. I was walking with my white greyhound and the missus. I gave you a quick glance and later thought I should have asked you to wind the window down to ask what exhaust you had because it sounded amazing!
  17. Aye, another Aberdonian! Stew, dont suppose you were going down Mugiemoss Road at around 5pm today? It was a 2004 silver zed with 19/20" rims and an awesome sounding exhaust. I need to find this driver so I can find out exhaust it was as I want one badly! I will of course be posting in the Spotted forum to trace this guy down! Thanks to everyone else for the warm welcome!
  18. Thought I would finally introduce myself to the forum after reading for many months researching before buying my zed! Im 29, just passed my test 5 months ago after being a biker for many years and decided to treat myself to a zed for my second car! I never intended on being a driver, just couldnt face another winter on my bike, but the driving bug got to me and after a few months in a car, I needed something that would replace my bike! After reading around the forum, I realised that my car is well documented, hence the reason im introducing myself. The car was previously owned by Richyfingers, 350zStephen and MWTech and I believe I bought myself a beauty, but I knew that from the moment I drove it! Havent taken any pics of the car yet but there are a few on the forum via the links below: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=38116 viewtopic.php?f=9&t=59327&p=852018#p852018 So hello to you all, I look forward to some good debates in the future
