Not sure I want to describe myself as an 'old fart' !!! You're as old as you feel..... I feel like a 35 year old just can't get one !

Quote from Directline... Even checked it 3 times myself as couldn't believe it! Major discount as I insure my 61plate Navara Tekna through them.

Biggest gain to being over the 30 mark has to be insurance... been quoted £223 for mine, thats fully comp with protected no claims, £0 excess, legal protection and replacement car if damaged (obviously that will be a pathetic micra or similar). Point i raised was 'am I too old at 49'. Answer seems to be a resounding NO

New to the forum and somehow managed to wander into the calandar area yesterday. Noted that the average age of Zed owners seems to be 30's? Given that I'm slightly older than that (username gives me away), am I too old to be driving this wonderful vehicle, or is it acceptable with you younger guy and girls? Paul.
  7. My understanding is if you extend your house but stay then it shouldn't get rebanded... The council might try but I think if you appeal against it then you would win, but the next occupant will get the higher rate once the house has sold ! I've extended my house by removing the roof and heightening it, giving myself a complete extra level (basically 50% house increase) plus I've added a very large conservatory. My rates are still in the 'E' bracket, as they were when originally banded when council tax came in. Just in case I have got this wrong and should have gone up in bands, I'm not telling you where I live, then you can't all grass me up !!!! Plus as I said, I get 25% off for being the only adult here...... Missed her when she first left, but hey, £600 a year deduction so not all bad (what age women will the ZED attract?????)
  8. Will join the gang and say Hi, as so many people were nice enough to say Hi to me By the way, never mentioned my name, it's Paul if anyone is interested.
  9. Now that's a Win - Win situation Will be when the car gets collected...
  10. Bit extreme I might be a builder, but can guarantee she isn't under a patio
  11. If you extend or improve your own property it doesn't normally get rebanded. Where it would get rebanded is if you then sold that house, and then the new occupant could be liable for the increased band fees.. You could get rid of every other adult that lives with you and get a 25% discount !!!!! (thats the advantage of the Mrs going !!!!!) (that and I get to buy a ZED)
  12. Im in Bedfordshire, so if any member is local and fancies a look, mainly at the car, but secondly to realise mindless numpties do buy fast cars, then I'd be more than grateful. Hope to pick it up early next week (the garage need to clear my cheque in case I'm a rogue). Must say I thought it looked good and sounded good and handled well, but did have to push them on replacing the front tyres as even I knew they were practically illegal !! Having said that, looking and sounding ok is just my opinion, and thats pretty worthless to be honest... I can drive a fast car, but used to buying my vehicles new. Amazing how quick you get the bug to get it looking and sounding even better though !!! Thanks for all the welcomes
  13. Hi everyone. Well this is all new, and as a newbie to the 350 (or any sports car come to that) I've already got myself hooked. Imagine I might be popping here quite a lot? Beginning to wonder if I'm just a bit mad having just read loads of threads on here and realised that there is more to owning one of these vehicles than I thought!! Never owned a high powered car before. Never owned a 2 seater. Know nothing about car maintenance (just where the fuel goes, and the ignition key). Just purchased an 06 coupe with gt pack, in black with black leather. Bought from a small second hand dealer, having driven one other at another dealership and fallen in love with the feel. Now wondering if I should have bought privately from an enthusiast? Dont collect if for another few days, so not even sure what I should do once I have it to make sure everythings ok? Any advise for a complete numpty (should have made that my username) will be greatly appreciated... Promise not to ask too many stupid questions, as I probably wouldn't understand the answers anyway!! Anyway, HI.
