  1. What type of gain are you looking for? What amount of BHP increase would you think was value for money?

When I did mine, I had HFC's, Spacer and MREV2 lower plenum added and probably gained around 20 BHP. You aren't going to get much more than that with NA tuning. The remap was probably worth it for the better drive-ability in 1st and 2nd. In hindsight, I might not have spent the money on the  spacer etc. if it was just for performance gains. However, my car sounds absolutely awesome, so from that perspective was worth it.

I would personally stick with HFC's rather than decats as the difference will be negligible (Unless you plan on Turbo/Supercharging) and you can pass an MOT without having to swap them.

Cool dog btw, he looks like a bit of a bruiser! :)

Found a picture, it’s the middle green one. Okay, so not as big a logo as I remembered, but I still say it’s bad taste.

You might think it's bad taste, but that charity do a lot for families which find themselves in this situation. This is one of the reasons my Wife and I raised money for them last year when we did Tough Mudder. If you look beyond the name and some of the policies that I don't agree with, they offer fantastic and invaluable support for those who need it following a road related death.

Not everyone has a large or good support network, so advertising this service isn't distasteful to me.

The sad reason I know so much about this is that my Brother in Law, whom lived with us for the last 5 years, was killed on his motorbike last year - 30 years old. A car pulled out in front of him... He has left a gigantic hole in our lives and especially his 7 year old Daughter's. Without charities like Brake, there are some families that would have no support through this. It's difficult to comprehend how much your life is impacted until something like this happens to you. I'm so sorry you are experiencing this Dan as I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

  3. Sorry to hear this Dan and very sorry for your loss. Sadly, I know exactly what you must be feeling now having been through something similar last year. I'd like to tell you that it gets easier, but not so far...

  4. I think it's unlikely you'll find anything to replace the standard cluster. You can get the digital motor sport ones, but that would replace the standard cluster entirely and you'd lose some of the information.

My only suggestion would be to buy a new Audi TT and fit a 350z body kit... It would probably be easier and cheaper! :)

  5. I've not been driving the 350 much recently due to the purchase of a new car. My battery has now decided that it's had enough and needs replacing... any recommendations? I'm selling the car in the next couple of months, so don't want anything too fancy! :)

It's a DE Revup... if that makes any difference...

  6. I may be going to pick up a new car in a couple of days (Providing no show stopper issues are found during the inspection I have booked). The guys selling, who seems like a genuinely nice person, has said they want cash only. I've never had to carry around several thousand pounds in cash before so just after some advice from people that have done it before? I assume that cash purchases for cars are fairly common place. I assume I have no come back with a cash only private sale, but that's why I'm spending a few hundred on an inspection before I hand over anything.

Anything else I should be aware of to stop myself from doing something stupid?

Limited body and interior colours, no sequential indicators, no dlrs, limited interior options

Not convinced you're right regarding the body or interior colours? You talked about a wrap on the vette, so easily fixed if you don't like the range available. Black leather is fine... Want drls and gimmicky indicators, buy an Audi. :)

  8. :welcome: If you can stump up the extra cash for an HR, then it is definitely worth it in my opinion. Better interior than the DE and better engine than the DE Rev Up. I manage to get about 19mpg, but mine is a daily and I crawl through traffic to get to work... could be worse though, I could be in a diesel Audi or something equally dull.

There are reasonably frequent meets which start from Skipton (Last one was August). Keep an eye on the Yorkshire and North West section of the Events Forum. Good luck with your search!
