Reluctantly these brakes are up for sale. I have been assembling the kit for the past few months but unfortunately they will not fit under my wheels...
Kit includes:
Front and rear akebono 370z calipers. These come with czp front fitting brackets, JDM rear bolts, New centric springs and pins. The calipers have been fully cleaned and all bleed nipples replaced. One of the rear calipers had a damaged bleed nipple thread which has been professionally repaired.
Also included are brand new:
Front and rear ferrodo ds2500 pads
Front czp 2 piece slotted discs, these are much lighter than standard so help reduce unsprung weight.
Rear stoptech slotted discs
1700 + postage for the whole kit.
Depending on interest I may split the discs and pads off if someone just wants the calipers and brackets.

With the acl you have no control over your clearance. Oem bearings allow you to chose bearings based on crank journal size etc.

Just had it back on, looks like the reason it bound up was some residue from old wheel weights, cleaned them and it now turns fully but leaves a score mark from the bottom edge of the caliper. I've had a feeler gauge in it and the whole of the edge of the bottom half is in contact with the rim. I'd guess is needs a few mm taken off, I reckon there's 4mm clearance on the top half...
Packed the studs with a few washers and tried again but the wheel won't even turn.
Looks like these will be going up for sale tomorrow....

Damn, Olly, wasn't expecting that. So do you reckon spacers won't help, is the diameter smaller where it touches than the rest of the wheel?
That is what i was trying to say in my post, i thought the inside of the wheel got wider towards the hub edge.
So do you think it's wider closer to the hub or further away from it?
-
I don't think a spacer will held much, there pretty uniform across the wheel, I might pack a few washers onto the studs to see if it makes a difference, looked like it was going to be ok untill I got the lug nuts tight....

They are but its not catching anywhere other than the actual barrel of the wheel...
-
I don't mind adding a small spacer but don't think it will help in this instance it's the overall internal diameter of the wheel that's too small....
-
Yea I agree, appears to have a spacer, it's not the clearence on the spokes that worries me tho, seems to be enough, it's the internal diameter of the wheel that's causing the most concern. Looking at the photo I posted you can see the lug holes are way out.

I have a full set of springs and OEM rear camber arms if needed.

I'm pretty sure it's normal, after spirited driving or a long journey the carpet on the transmission tunnel is toasty.

Hi all
I moved house last year and the plan has allways been to increase the size of the drive. I've had a few quotes and there a bit more than I was anticipating, can anyone offer any advice on resin bound drives?
Cheers

It is alive.... Why don't you take the lump hammer to the other rear wing, could claim some sort of downforce improvement....

I guess it would be if it was a lower pulley. Was the bonnet shut when it sounded louder underneath. Was the noise more to the front or rear of the engine bay?
-
My hr 350 sounded like that when the bearing went on my top idler pulley, they to locate the noise using the good old ear and screwdriver techneique.

That's good to hear. Looks like I'll have a set of brembos for sale rather than the akebonos....
Hell who am I kidding, would have been a good excuse for new wheels...

You can get the caliper repaired by someone like brake caliper specialists. I appreciate the probably doesn't help if it's on the car..... I've got a nice big brake kit for sale if you fancy an upgrade...
