They look brilliant. And your number plate makes sense now, why so glow
I wasn't going to mention the plate but seeing as you have, that spacing deserves a fine....
if it makes you feel better, the money ive spent on numberplate fines over the last 5 years could probably buy me another Zed!

Nice job , I'd love to try this, but fear it would be nowhere near as good... plus I'd end up ruining the ridiculously expensive facelift clear reflectors!
it was very painful cutting into £85 reflectors! luckily it turned out ok

Awesome
Cheeky I know but do you have a wiring schema to do the diming and alike? What did you tap into in the end for the power?
no i dont have any wiring diagrams as did it all as i went along im afraid. I grabbed a power feed from the back of the radio and ran the cable back up past the fuse box and ABS unit. Not what i wanted to do but couldnt find an ignition live under the bonnet

They look fantastic, truly professional.
So the big question is: When will you be making and selling them as kits?
haha i hadnt really thought about making kits up really. It wasnt the cheapest mod as i had to buy the clear facelift reflectors, the wiring/relay/fuse parts, a switch, the LED's, plus all the wires and trunking for the installation...
i have flush fitted a cut off switch under the bonnet by the brake fluid reservior as well which is pretty cool. will get a pic up of that later...

cheers guys
great job, ive not my wired mine in yet so hoping they come out as good as yours, havent seen you around for a while, drove past you a couple of months back though
im still around Epsom mate, just havent been driving the car very much at the moment. It might get a run around town once a week usually at the weekend if i can

Finally finished my daytime running light project! Made these up from scratch with a set of clear reflectors, some LED strips and a few wires/relays Sorry for all the pics!
New reflectors and the LED strips
little dremel hole cut in one end and LEDs slid in and secured
test run on the bench
both made, sealed and ready to fit
making the loom
finished loom
bumper off - didnnt have to do this but made it so much easier...
new wiring run in with standard loom
reflectors in
ignition on
sidelights on (no change)
headlights on (50% dim)
no lights
sidelights on (no change)
headlights on (50% dim)
Im really happy with them, what do you think??

selling my Apple MAC for spares/repairs - ending today!!
-
you will! Ive made up a separate wiring loom that ive linked into the main harness as it runs through the brake fluid reservoir. Its made up of a relay, resistors and a manual override switch. Just need to connect in my sidelight/headlight feed depending on how i want the DRLs to function and connect the ignition live

370z fog light switch!!
thats what im talking about! This has got to fit in the blank spot in the 350z... im going on the hunt for one of these!
maybe not...$170 odd from the states for the switch and wiring. thats without delivery and import tax etc...

Jol3ly, are they the reflector LED mod or the actual DRL's that Phillips and alike are selling that you fit to the bumper?
This might help..

Full service manual from 2003-2008
You want the second link as the top is the owners.. It works I've just downloaded it on my iPhone so I know it's kosher. Comes through as a zip file then you just need to unzip it and walla.. Every section is there
thanks mate, useful link to have! it downloaded in separate PDF folders on my pc though so thats a bit annoying...
ive made up some DRLs of my own rather than buying the propper ones. not really a cheaper option but look allot better i think
-
and yes you have offered me your number plate
Already got 1 of my private plates wasting away on retention, so don't need another just yet. Thanks anyway
-
No I want them to be road legal, so they need to come on with the ignition, then dim to 50% brightness when the sidelights/headlights are turned on. I have built and fitted the loom and new reflectors, just need to run the ignition live wire and they are complete!

No one done any engine bay wiring before?
Really not looking forward to taking my Pioneer unit out again to get a feed from there...
-
Hi guys, I'm installing my DRLs as we speak and need an ignition live in the engine bay I can tap into. Don't really want to run a wire through the bulkhead if I can help it!
Anyone know of any?
It's a 2009 zed if it makes a difference...

cool, if it does can you let me know and il order one up too if not il just tuck a switch out the way somewhere else...Cheers Phil, will this switch fit in the blank spot by the heated seats? Or somewhere else?
I bloody hope so, :-0 Not had chance to check as I can't find my spare heater control.. But if not its a standard rocker switch so you can buy loads of different housing set ups from most electrical places.. Bit of trimming with a knife and bobs your uncle

I need to install a switch into my interior but want it to look factory. Or at least not too out if place!
It will be the override cutoff for my DRLs when I finish/install them.
Where have you guys fitted switches in the inside before? And any links to decent switches?

sneak peak pics sent over from the bodyshop...the last one confirms the fact im in serious need of spacers, glad the eibachs are getting fitted on saturday!
-
ive gone for a dark anthractite grey colour on the wheels in the end. I should get it back from the bodyshop this friday if they finish sparying the front end in time. will post some pics up when i finally see it again!

depending on what style you are going for, ive just taken my 19" BMW 7 Series wheels off my car and will be selling them. coulor is shadow chrome - so sprayed black, then dusted with silver...
only been on for a thousand or so miles and come with H&R hubcentric adapters, 1000 mile old (new) tyres and a full dip and refurb at the same time.

and cheers everyone, glad they have gone down well
am happy to make a few of these sets up for people but the longest part of this was the install! lots of poking around with a multimeter to find headlight feeds and ignition lives etc...
