It hasn't done me any harm thus far!
Look, I'm not suggesting that people should be running about sorting all their problems with violence, but a measured level of force can be the right response to a given situation. Have to agree to disagree I guess!
-
It very much depends on the mouthful, but yes, there comes a point where the only response to what someone is saying to you is a slap!
-
Dave why not look at it like this - the conductor held up the train by not dealing effectively with the situation from the outset?
I think this is missing the point somewhat. Although the conductor could probably have dealt with it better, the kid was being an obnoxious little w***er and being manhandled off the train in embarrassing but ultimately not exactly life-threatening fashion seems like a simple life lesson to me: act like a ****; expect pain...

chucking someone heavily onto a concrete platform (twice) because you want to get on with your journey doesn't seem that reasonable.
Depends how much of a hurry you're in!
Valid point that the guy could just have easily called the transport police to deal with him, but I think others have hit the nail on the head when they say that it's the general lack of respect for any form of authority that's so galling and I'd be lying if I said I didn't cheer when the large man hurled the gobby little git off the train!
-
The fact is, the little scrote who was refusing to leave the train was breaking the law, so 'big man' could justifiably argue that he was performing a citizen's arrest, albeit in a slightly over-zealous fashion...

In my experience with phone / internet providers, if you have an issue which they cannot resolve (i.e. crap signal, dodgy connection etc) and complain to them a few times about it, after they've exhausted their limited set of options to remedy it they often offer to let you out of the contract. At least, this has been the outcome for me with two ropy internet connections and a crap mobile phone!

Thanks for the tip mate!

Good point, I might drop him a PM now!

I've just bought some Snow foam and a Karcher foam lance to get the Zed nice and shiny, but I'm a complete noob when it comes to wax and polish so I was wondering if anyone had any good products they could recommend? I don't need any 80% carnauba stuff, just something to make it sparkly!

Companies around the UK take note: this is how to keep your staff happy!

i was thinking about buying an evo as they are 4wd would be perfect in winter lol!!!
Now you're talking!
If I can find a decent shed for a grand or less I'll probably go down that route for winter seeing as a set of winter tyres costs about £600
-
and people wonder why they end up in a ditch when it's icy/snowy! I'm a bit of a wimp in the Zed when it's even remotely damp so no real chance of me losing control, but want the increased stopping power when someone else inevitable does something stoopid!
-
I am considering that as well, but I love the Zed so much I don't know if I can bring myself to slum it in a shed
-
As the title says, I'm looking for a set of decent looking but relatively cheap alloys to stick on the Zed along with some winter tyres so the Rays can be tucked safely in the garage until spring!
Thanks
-
Both good ideas, thanks. Had a a couple of 'interesting' moments in the last week with the ice so figure winter tyres are the way forward!
-
Thanks Lexx, presumably ebay is the best place to start hunting?
-
Hi all, I'm planning to stick the mint condition Rays in the garage over the winter along with the tyres and stick some cheapo alloys on with some winter tyres attached. Can anyone suggest a half-decent, reasonably priced set of alloys that look ok on the Zed? Don't want it look all winter but don't have £1000s to spend on a set at the moment.
Thanks!

Thought I'd give you a , this is a sweet looking Zed and someone will be lucky to take it on!

I had a similar issue with my old 3.2 TT, took it into Audi who very kindly charged me £120 for the privilege of having them remove a charred Asda bag from the exhaust

Tragic story mate, my thoughts are with you and the rest of the family.
If cancer was a person I would smack it in the face, it always seems to affect the nicest people.

UPREV
in Performance
After Mark removed the 155mph limit I managed 165mph in Germany, still had more to give but I bottled it due to the road surface becoming increasingly undulated. Had the autobahn been smoother I'm guessing a number in the 170'sThanks for the info!

UPREV
in Performance
Sorry to Hijack, but when the uprev is applied what is the approximate maximum speed? If anyone's actually found this out first-hand (on the safety of a track of course! ) I'd be interested to know!

And based on the opinions on here it'd be a split decision! Unfortunately I suspect the guy will either be issued an immediate caution or be dealt with by Magistrates...
