Paid up and great to see its going to a good cause.

Good to hear you got sorted.
Im not a fan of stud extractors aka easy outs. They are extremely brittle and unbelievably hard. I learnt the hard way, took me nearly a day to drill out the remains of one.

Front 245/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 AO (Audi spec, to be replaced with Super Sports) Tyre height 6mm shorter, speedo difference 1%
Rear 265/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 N4 (Porsche spec) Tyre height 8mm shorter, speedo difference 1%
I can't provide any guarantees but Ive been running the above for a few years now without issue on standard Rays, traction control works as normal.
It lowers the car slightly due to the shorter side wall height. This means the radius of the tyres reduces meaning your speedo will over read very slightly i.e. around 1%. This is on the safe side as in if your doing an indicated 70mph the true speed of your car will be slightly less. Even on standard tyres as in common with most cars the speedo over reads slightly, if your doing 80mph (in a controlled off road environment only of course) and you check your GPS your actually doing 76mph. I tested it before and after and can't even see 1mph difference. Someone will correctly if I'm wrong but I understand a speedo can legally over read by up to 10%
I hope thats of some help.

You dont need a tapley meter to do a zed the lsd is fine on a brake tester as its very low speed , its 4wd cars thats more of an issue
Thanks for the info Rich, does this apply to aftermarket LSD's? Ive got a Kaaz 1.5 way.

Im in Hertfordshire but I come up to Suffolk and Norfolk every so often.
I had the same problem. Im not sure if you can buy the bearing separately, I bought the hub new from Torqen and changed it myself.
If your changing the hub its a job that can be done with basic tools. From the top of my head a jack, jack stands, socket set, breaker bar, some string to support the brake calliper, a mallet to wack out the hub and torque wrench should do it.

I used the T-cut kit around £10 on eBay.
No sandpaper only a polish compound and sealer. Has'nt completely removed small scratches but got rid of the milk stuff.

Just read through the thread, absolutely cracking work and great to see its almost done!

A bit more progress. Unfortunately the EDFC wiring is all good, looks like its a motor. I will get the rear struts off and have a look sometime later this/next week. Otherwise a few more items of the TODO list:
Headlight restoration
I used a T cut kit £10 from eBay. Has done the job reasonably well.
Before: you can just about see the milky stuff at the top
After: all clear
Changed the oil and fitted the oil temp gauge sender, all working now
and while I was at it I removed the number plate holder and mounted a new numberplate directly to the bumper
Its getting there, hopefully a trackway before the end of the month.

Thanks for the reply Samsniss350z
Im not over concerned with the colour match, the panel is slightly bent anyway. Just something to stop it rusting. Eventually I will probably get the whole car sprayed as is has been keyed on one side and the rear bumper has a scrape.

Does the stereo come with the leads needed to connect to the 350z plugs?

A case of one step forward, one step backwards today.
New EDFC arrived! It might be an ex demo model but it looks pristine. So I unplugged the old one, fitted the new one and all was well. Then after a short drive an error message for the Right Rear stepper motor appeared. When it goes through the self test I can see the motor moving. May well be my fault as I did tug on the cables a bit to make some slack and the plug wiring doesn't look the best now. I don't have access to my multimeter at the moment to check for continuity but its another job to do. I have a spare cable at least.
On another note my next job is an oil and filter change and to fit the Oil Temperature Gauge Sender unit.
The sump spacer has a threaded hole that matches the oil temp sender, its currently got a blank installed. I have a sealing washer for the sender unit around somewhere but should also I put some sealant on the threads and if so what sealant?

installed and working for a short time

I thought you might like that!
I have to say a massive thank you for Bennett for his work and sharing his knowledge of the Zeds, I have to admit he know his stuff.
Update for today EDFC box has arrived and rear camber lockout and SPC toe bolts ordered.

Thanks Martybhoy and Neo!
Another busy day on the Zed. Phil from Archenemy arrived to roll the rear arches, Im really happy with the job. After he was done I refitted the front spacers as well.
I also called Tein to get a replacement EDFC box as the screen is buggered. Mine is the older silver box, they said they might have an ex demo unit somewhere. Later on I got a call and £35 including delivery and the replacement box is on its way. Nice to see someone going to some effort help a customer!
Unfortunately a unexpected non Zed issue used up the rest of my productive time. Maybe some smaller jobs tomorrow.
Phil rolling the arches
I forgot to get a before photo but this gives some idea, the arches are now also slightly flared
Arch folded
And finished with the sealant

Im thinking of the Sparco Sprint, it fits my skinny arse very well.
The whole set up looks very smart by way!
-
Bobby D,
Are those the Sparco Sprints?
-
Thanks Kyle,
Just minor stuff planned for the moment, remounting the front number plate straight to the bumper and cleaning up the headlights but I do like the look of the Nismo V2 bumper...
Thanks Neo for moving the thread!
I've just had the arches rolled by Phil from Arch Enemy. He's done a really neat job. i will up load the pictures later.

m not going to modify it.
At least I wasn't but then I started down the slippery slope.
Ive had the car since 2011 but not done much with it, just brakes, compression rod bushes and de badge.
I did a few track and drift days but I was never comfortable with the handling to really push.
I gradually collected parts but real life including six months off work following a migraine got in the way. Then The Bitch was broken. I called up Bennett and quickly made a deal for the suspension and later the diff. A few days later we arrived at his friend Carls garage. Three days of blood, sweat, argument’s, beer and pizza got the car sorted bar a few left overs.
Im lucky to get a month off work each year and over the last few days I have been slowly finishing the loose ends. Its almost ready to get back on the track.
The difference is astonishing, the feedback and sure footed feeling is another world. Its far more drivable in the dry and wet.
Its fantastic to have this forum, I cant count the number of members and traders who have helped and advised me doing various jobs on the car.
Coming soon, lots of photos and some parts I now have duplicates of for sale.

Ive just realised the cigarette lighter socket is only on with the ACC position. I will try tapping from that tomorrow.

ive just had superpro bushes and coilovers fitted all round. The difference is amazing but the ride with the coilovers may not be to your taste.
I would suggest changing the shocks and having the bushes inspected. The compression rod bushes are the ones that always seam to go.

Hello ,
I fitted an oil temp gauge and the EDFC control for my Tein Flex's
I've tapped battery +, lights on signal wire and the accessory signal wire from the back of the stereo to fit an oil temp gauge and Tein EDFC.
The gauge only uses the accessory signal wire provide a signal to turn on however from the manual the TEIN EDFC uses the accessory power source to power 4 stepper motors and a control box.
The acc wire form the stereo is tiny, is there another easily accessible accessory source that can take a reasonable amount of current?
Thanks
Mack
Which shocks?

I can't tell you which is the best because i can only comment on personal experience i.e. my car.
I have Tein Flex with EDFC fitted and the SuperPro eccentric bush set. Currently my rear subframe, diff and steering rack bushes are stock.
The difference from standard is very noticeable, to be blunt it has become a completely different car and i wouldn't go back. Fitting new shocks or in my case coil overs is a reasonably bolt on job however changing the bushes is massively labour intensive. Fortunately I was able to do a deal for suspension with the bushes already fitted.
If you are lowering bear in mind you will require additional parts to bring the rear back into alignment. In my case I also needed the rear arches rolled.
It may be cost effective to considering changing only some bushes. The compression rod bushes aka the banana arm on the front suspension are notorious for failing. They are worth replacing and I would go straight for poly bushes. SuperPro do an eccentric bush that will provide more caster. Horsham Developments did mine to great effect.
I hope that is some help. Im sure someone in a better position to offer advice will be along shortly.
