  1. That BM is lovely but can see exactly what the poster is on about.

Went to a Nissan dealer recently and there was a 2005 350, with 53k on the clock, none Rays wheels, scratched interior and swirled to high hell paint - £12.5k, the guy kept insisting it was a good price where as I was telling him he was miles away! He said they'd sort all the cars short comings for me, where as if I owned that dealer all of that would have been done before it had gone anywhere near a forecourt!

Some recruiters are also quite funny, thankfully the agency I'm with for my first contract have been top notch, very professional throughout :)

  2. I've been bless to have lake vyrnwy on my door step my whole life, my friend in school's father managed the hotel for years as well so we were always up there. Have you been to Llanrhaeadr waterfall as well? Its another beauty spot!

Never get bored of those roads and the scenery, snowdonia is beautiful as well!

  3. Age is but a number, current g/f is 23, I'm 30 in 2 weeks, been together for 16 months and couldn't be happier. One of my friends who I'd have happily dated before I met Beth is 10 years younger than me, at 17 she had her head screwed on more than 99% of people in their 20's so its horses for courses, also :worthless:

  4. Dogs are a wonderful addition to any family! As has pretty much been covered here, unless you enjoy running / lots of exercise I'd avoid a husky, they can get a little grumpy when they don't get enough exercise.

I can't recommend lab retrievers and springer spaniels enough, my g/f has a lab retriever that has grown to 7 stone, she is a huge dog, but very loving, affectionate and passive. My springer spaniel is now 14 and has only just calmed down, springers can be a little balmy, again they are generally very kind and love affection, they are obviously a little smaller than our retriever friends but need more exercise and will generally make you laugh alot more, they are into everything and will generally say hello to everyone!

The only downsides to any dog are the ties, short of having children its the biggest commitment you can make, cats are easy, turf outside, done, a dog wants to be fed, wants to be walked, wants to be fussed, wants to relax with you, wants to sit with you if you're working on a car outside, wants to go to the beach with you etc. If you've got some nearby friends/family that don't mind adopting for a weekend every now and then you should be ok. As I say, they really make a house into a home and leave an enormous imprint on your heart and life in every single way, you'll go the full cycle of emotions with them!

Personally, if its your first, I'd shoot for a retriever, as much as I love springers they can be menaces

  5. Hi folks!

I've posted a few times but thought I'd do an official hello. I'm Dave, currently living in Reading, I'm 29 years old and blah blah blah, usual stuff, football, cars, etc :)

Currently I am selling my 2006 Civic CDTI as I will no longer be doing 1800 miles /month.... so its 350Z time! I've had some lovely motors in the past, S2000, RX-8, RX-7, Supra TT and several Preludes so cannot wait to get back into a good petrol motor!

Ideally I want a nice gunmetal, ginger or blue GT and am on the lookout, if I can land one with a Nismo kit then I'll be even happier! If anyone can help me shift the civic a little quicker or knows of anyone looking for a great, cheap to run commuter then she's advertised here: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3254680.htm (Apologies to the mods if this link isn't allowed)

Anyway, that's me and I'll hopefully meet up with a few members over the coming months! :D

    Dave

  6. There are some talented folk on here for sure, wow at several of these photos!

Here are a few of my favourites from the month of travelling I did around SE Asia this summer, best trip of my life! Sadly these are hosted on facebook so have lost a little bit of the clarity!

  7. Own a macbook and windows machine, neither OS gives me grief, however apple get major plus points on the quality of their kit over shoddy PC builds.... but then..... you pay extra for that and apple only get to install their OS on a single type of machine!

8 looks good, whether it will be or not we'll decide, if they can build a tablet with full windows functionality, i.e. USB, Wireless, etc then it'll be a kick in apples but for sure!
