  1. Hello there!

I am currently looking at a new car for my gf, she likes the look of the new shape Clio, also the new fiesta but they seem a bit out of her price range for the decent ones currently.

Does anyone have any experience of the 2008ish onwards Clio?

    Looking at either a 1.2 16v 75, 1.2 TCE 100 or a 1.5 DCI 86 in Dynamique trim.

The 1.2 TCE claims higher MPG than the normal 1.2 16v so might be a good choice, obviously the diesels are priced slightly higher.

    Any views welcome

    Thanks

  2. Maybe he will give a huge chunk of it to some deserving charities......

I read that he was planning donate 10mil to charity.

From AOL 'News' = "He plans to donate £10 million to charity from the deal, including £1 million to Citizens Advice, while he will retain full control over the website."

  3. Consider this guys, we are all saying the wheels have been put on the wrong way, I get the feeling its the tyres that have been put on the wrong wheels.

That front left tyre appears more 'bulgy' than the rear left with the same size tyre. Maybe because the front is an 8j with a 245/45 tyre and the rear is an 8.5j with the same tyre.

Also neither of the rear wheels are curbed but the front left wheel is curbed slightly (most commonly curbed wheel).

I would have thought he would have far more grounds for complaint if the tyres were on the wrong wheels.

Also a 225/45 on an 8.5j may cause it to produce more heat on track

  4. Further on from my previous post there is definetly issues with your tyre sizes.

Ive looked closely are your photos and it appears this offside front tyre is a 225/45/18 (you have to look very closely)

The nearside front is a 245/45/18 (again, look closely, although the tyre is noticably bigger)

Nearside Rear 2??/45/18 (Cannot see the size)

Offside Rear 225/45/18 (The knackered one)

  5. My old man has had one for around 5 years, never had any problems with it. Goes reasonably well although is only slightly less thirsty than the zed. Nice and comfy, main weaknesses from what I have seen/read is the dual mass flywheel and the rear bushes. On 90K now and still has no plans to get rid, bearing in mind most other cars he has owned are sold within a year.

  6. Does it do it all the time? or only when sitting in traffic/ longer journeys.

It could well be your clutch fluid is cooking, mine did this and the hotter it got the lower the pedal sat, once its done it once thats your fluid knackered.

Speak to zmanalex about it , if thats what the problem is he can sort you out with a new braided clutch hose and higher boiling point fluid also a slave cylinder if required :)

Very common on the DE engined cars

  7. Whos this Hussain Bolt you speak of??

    Back on topic.... :glare:

It all depends on what you want from it, are you after sound? or are you after performance? In the summer months the heatsoak from a popcharger will become more noticable....but with the popcharger you could have your windows down and listen to the howl :D

    Your choice

  8. love blackfire paint sealant and the tyre gel is the best

    Agreed!

Here is a black zed myself and another member did. It was sealed with blackfire.

I generally use the products that suit the paint I'm working with. I don't detail as much as I used to though so haven't been keeping up with the latest 'trends' that are about. I'm happy with what I have in my arsenal these days.

No image is showing up for me?

  9. I find I use a mixture of manufacturers depending on what I want to achieve and how much time I have. Others may disagree but I find one manufacturer doesn't do the best of everything.

    (IMO from personal experience)

Best Shampoo = Carlack 68 Shampoo

Best all in one cleaner/sealant = Car Lack 68 Nano Systematic Care

Best Tyre Gel = Meguiars Gold Class Endurance

Best Wheel Cleaner = Carpro Iron X

Best Wax (Black Car) = Victoria Wax Concours

Sonus or Zaino for towels usually.
