  1. I currently have a Z4M and previously owned a 2006 350z 300 GT.

Dynamically the Z4M is quite far ahead. The engine is an absolute peach and it is faster and sharper than a 350z.

The best was I can describe my opinions of the engines is that the S54 feels like it was designed for its purpose as a high performance engine whereas the VQ35 was designed for a SUV and modified to be suitable for a performance car.

The only disadvantage with the running costs is you have to factor in the valve clearances being done every 28000 miles apart from that the running costs/mpg are similar.

My 350z insurance was £800, Z4M £780 so the same give or take. Interestingly an E46 M3 quote was £1400.

As with the 350z you need to throw away the standard rubber (RE040-350z / Conti M3-Z4M)

The 350z is more comfortable on long journeys and spacious inside – both boots are equally useless although both can easily be used as daily drivers.

Also do not go in a normal Z4 and think the Z4M will ride and handle the same, they are very different.

The 350z looked better but the Z4M drives & goes better.

A 3.0Si Z4 (260-odd BHP) was equal (give or take a car length) to my revup 350z :)

  2. That car is in Arlesford in Essex isnt it, about 5 minutes from my house, the owner of the garage used it as his own car for a while I think.

Havent seen it close up but that garage is usually pretty good.

  3. The original 172 Clio and the GTI-6 made me totally change the way I thought about FWD, its worth trying one

Id also strongly advise people not to try a Metro 1.0 Automatic or a Yugo, just take my word for it. :yuck:

In my opinion the Gti-6 has the better engine. Very underrated car, still outdoes cars like the Fiesta ST and its 15 years old!

  4. I wouldnt waste your time with the Clio if your taking a child in it. They are only good when your ragging the nuts off of them. Also the trophy has the big recaros so I am not sure how you would get on with a child seat (assuming its a very young child).

    ...not forgetting the awful interior

  5. Echo above, why are you buying a car you clearly cannot afford (paying it off over 4 years proves this)

    .

I disagree with this. If you can afford monthly payments, then you can afford the car.

My arguement is based on buying a car for that price, when you could have a better one for the same price.

I have bought 4 cars on finance, all spread over 4 years.

Although granted, I negotiated 0%-2% interest on them all.

True, maybe it is just that taking 4 years to pay off a car that is already 5 years old isn't something I would personally do

  6. Echo above, why are you buying a car you clearly cannot afford (paying it off over 4 years proves this) when you could easily buy a perfectly good 350z with under 50k for 5k less!

Also with that low mileage its been sitting around for long periods which is never good for a car.

  7. so were lookin' at £253 per month for 50 months.

    50 months?!?!

Low mileage or not, do realise your paying around 13K for one that isnt even a HR? Personally I wouldnt even pay more than 11k for a HR.

  8. For Sale

    Genuine Motordyne Mrev2 Lower Plenum

This was purchased around 5 months ago from Abbey Motorsport (Receipt included with sale)

IMO when combined with the plenum spacer the Mrev2 lower plenum is the most effective performance modification you can do to the Revup DE engine. This combo commonly produces around 15bhp gains in the mid-range with similar torque gains on this engine.

This plenum is designed to be used on the GT4 model and the later 294 revup DE engined cars

Here is the blurb from the motordyne website about the Mrev2:

"MREV 2 Manifold TM - The most powerful naturally aspirated bolt on you can put on your revup engine.

When used with or without a spacer or aftermarket upper plenum, this lower plenum will make substantial power gains. Multiple independent test show when used with a 5/16" spacer on the revup engine, the combination will add a "minimum" of 15+ HP and 18+ TQ in the upper midrange. Many independent MREV 2 Manifold REVUP tests have dynod in excess of 20HP and 30 TQ in the upper midrange and with high RPM peak power increased by 3-5 HP.

The MREV2 is a prerequisite to the plenum spacer when used on a revup engine. No other normally aspirated VQ modification provides as much gain as the MREV 2 Manifold!"

PLEASE NOTE: This is a genuine Motordyne Mrev2 lower plenum not one that someone has knocked up in their garage as sometimes seen for sale. Receipt will be included and it will also be sent in the original box.

New these are £440 pounds just for the Mrev2 plenum.

I will be selling mine for £250 delivered or £340 including the Motordyne 5/16" Plenum Spacer in my other auction.

    Thanks for looking

    Stuart
