  1. +1 But only the 2 pieces for the arm rests on the doors for the electric windows etc.
  2. The biggest worry about these after market plug in chips is that they are generic in that all they basically do is fool the ecu into pumping more fuel into the cylinders by raising the Fuel rail pressure and the fuel regulator on the pump. They do not match up boost with fuel resulting in more black exhaust (unburnt fuel) or take into account dealer ecu updates. I have had diesels forever and you cannot beat a personal remap by a company who specialise/invest thousands of pounds/hours in producing non generic remaps. I currently have a 2009 Defender 110 which has a remap from a company called Alive tuning (Landrover specialists) who do bespoke remaps based individually on the OEM fuel map stored in the ecu, resulting in more BHP/Torque and everything is balanced with no flat spots meaning a clean burn with no noticeable exhaust smoke even under heavy acceleration. I have a 30% increase in BHP/Torque and now get 32mpg instead of 26mpg driving the same way and it comes with an interface which allows me to re install the original map file for dealer visits, so my advice would be to go for a remap rather than a plug in chip, it's safer for your engine.
  3. I thought so too until I found a mention of it on the OBDII forum I'm a member off. This company stocks them http://www.autoobd2.co.uk/wholesale/nis ... 4QodmXuvVQ and as I will be getting a 370 next year I think it would be good to have a future proof model that covers all nissan models. Edit: This is the original system I was looking at: http://www.cardiag.co.uk/professional-n ... ol-42.html As I am new to nissan ownership advice on which system to go for is my main concern, mainly so I don't end up buying the wrong machine.
  4. Looking for information from anybody who has recently purchased a Consult 4 unit? Had a look on Google and the prices seem to range from £450 - £1k for essentially the same systems? I have diagnostic gear for my landrover and have stayed away from grey China copies as there has been instances of them actually doing more damage to the ecu than good. Also there is no software updates available as you are barred from the update servers if you have a counterfeit machine. An example is the IDS/VCM machine I purchased last year from this company http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/ ... eitvcm.asp as I nearly bought the same system for £500 from a OBDII website that is based in China before stumbling upon the whole counterfeit, no support issues of counterfeit machines. Does anyone know if the Consult system uses server or CD updates? Would it be better to buy from a UK company (pricey)? Or are all the units made in China now anyway and I'm worrying about nothing and should buy the cheapest system I can find? Cheers
  5. You have a lot to answer for G man though after driving the zed I am now pleased to report that the new owner of my beloved Defender 110 CSW XS is none other than my missus, congratulations darling you will love it........ Ok back to reality, she does allow me to wash and polish the zed and as a reward I get to fill it up and drive it occasionally, very quickly I may add, damn does that thing shift As to the meet I'm backshift that day on turn 14 so no chance of me going Though I may try for a lieu day. BBBBuuuuuuuutttttttt on a positive note, once the defender is paid off next year I'm getting myself a new play thing, a 370 Coupe GT in Le Mans Blue.
  6. No, I'm not a BTP but I do drive trains. I know George and Jim well but they are on the other side of the shift to me.
  7. In my defence, the rain is warm in the summertime. @bronzee: to be honest I'm leaning more towards the Yoko's than the others I listed. Cheers for the advice. @LRF4N: I'm in Carluke, just down the road from Holytown. @NeilP: I'll stick a tread gauge in them and give you first dibs when I change over. And careful, I may take you up on your offer as I work for the railway in Motherwell. @vik54: Thanks for the offer but I only just got it and haven't finished polishing it yet. @ZMANALEX: I can see me paying you a visit to assist me in lightening my wallet. And thanks to all for the great welcome.
  8. Hi all, just got a 2009 350Z GT Roadster with 6000mls on the clock and I am totally in awe of the power/torque from the NA engine. I was expecting a kick up the ass on acceleration, just not the booting from size 12's every time I do floor it The first thing I'm going to change on it is the tyres away from the Bridgestones to either Falken FK452's or Hankook Ventus V12 Evo or maybe even Yokohama Advan Sport. Will have a good read through the forum for advice/tips from the certified petrol heads I'm sure lurk in the shadows ready to pounce in aid of us newbies.
