  1. For anyone interested, my old 370z is now up for sale at the dealership I px'd it with... http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201702112209385
  2. cheers guys, will definitely stick around on here and will maybe come back with a 235 review/comparison and moan about what I am missing from the 370.! Guess just wanted to use this as an opportunity to show appreciation...
  3. I've been on here for a good few years now but admittedly have been a bit of a sleeper on here, a taker rather than a giver in terms of all the advice, hints and solutions that I've picked up! After 2 years with a 350z and just over 3 with the 370z I'm shamefully having a change and trying the M235. The 370z in particular has easily been the best car I have owned, it's never missed a beat, great running costs (only £5k depreciation in over 3 years) and I still do not get tired of driving her. It's looks and rarity still gets admiring glances. No reason to sell other than wanting to try something different but I am not looking forward to letting her go ... Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to this forum and those on it for supplying the enthusiasm that got me hooked in the first place and the knowledge and advice through my years of ownership.... I know there is another user on here that made the switch to the 235 and switched straight back again so never say never, and I will definitely be keeping a keen eye on the Nissan press releases for any news of her replacement... Cheers
  4. Just thought would post a quick message as not been on here for a while. I can confirm I still have a set of the discs and they worked perfect. Chalks - just responded to your pm so there yours if u want them...
  5. Mats currently put aside for kinablu pending confirmation later. Will pm Randy - as per pm, the adaptor is out of a 56 plate car so would have thought its one of the later ones. I had a HTC and worked fine but can't never tried it with a iphone5. Not sure if anyone knows how to tell if the adaptor is the latest, picture of the other side is here…. the code under ADAPTER BT read 28334 CD00A
  6. I have traded in my 350z (treated myself to a 370z!) so am selling a couple of bits that I added to the car after I bought it rather than give them away to the stealers. Genuine Nissan 350z Car Mats Very Good condition, I had them about 9 months. Passenger side pretty much as new. Drivers side still look very good with just a little bit of wear where my heels have been. Nothing too significant but this area has thinned a little. £37.50 Delivered. Genuine Nissan BT Adaptor All in working order £50 Delivered
  7. Ok, have pm'd Steel Lynx with my details, cheers
  8. Got my 370z last week so would be good to get these updates installed. From the recent posts, the sets that haynesml and steel lynx have seem to be trouble free. I will pm them both and see who replies first !
  9. Can thoroughly recommend the scorpion exhaust. I was the same as you, OEM started to blow and wanted similar look but slightly sweeter exhaust note without it being in yer face. Got mine from CS and was exactly what I wanted at a great price.
  10. Cheeky Bump…. She will be handed over to a Nissan dealership on Sunday and put on the forecourt at £9,795 in a few weeks time…. I am relatively happy with the p/ex price (and will take out mats, reclaim unused tax!) but would be good to see her go to a good home…..
  11. or you could save yourself a couple of grand and buy mine!!! http://www.pistonhea...Y&YearFrom=2006 higher mileage granted, but not for a well maintained zed... you even get yourself a sweeter sounding Scorpion exhaust....
  12. hey there, if you wanted to treat yourself to the much better facelift model ;-) - you have a week to have a look at mine before I p/ex... I was in the same position as you with a fixed budget but was persuaded to stretch to the 296hp model and so glad i did.... http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77861-my-200656-350z-facelift-for-sale-on-pheads-last-chance-to-buy-before-i-pex-her-for-a-370/
  13. Hi all, After much deliberation and looking at all sorts of alternatives I have decided to sell the 350z and get myself a 370! I have a deposit put down on the new one and I am due to pick her up in a couple of weeks. I have negotiated a decent p/ex price for her but thought I may aswell put it out privately, give someone a chance to pick up a great car at a bargain price, and maybe pocket a couple of hundred quid more myself. Advert is here http://www.pistonhea...acelift/1847789 As you will see, she is in great condition, I have had her for over 2 years and always treated her well, garaged overnight and she has never skipped a beat. It is totally standard apart from the excellent Scorpion exhaust bought from Cougarstores which gives her that sweeter exhaust note. No existing problems, plenty of life on tyres, long MOT and only serviced in July. The Nissan dealership I am trading her was so impressed that they are going to put it on their forecourt rather than send to auction as with most cars this age. Any questions just shout Cheers
  14. Interesting, I have just had a lengthy conversation with a helpful chap at nissan uk. He confirmed that the updates brought in with the GT edition model were also applied across the entire 370z range for all vehicles built from June2011. The updates include, improved shock absorbers, suspension and dampening. It also suggests rear view camera became standard with the connect premium sat nav. The difficulty is confirming whether a vehicle I am looking at was built pre or post the updates. The only way to do this is to get the chassis number and ring nissan uk again. Problem is a car could be built up to 12 months before it is registered. Possibly the rear view camera is the only possible giveaway but not certain about that. Agree that the differences will be small but would be nice to know when I am looking at cars around the 11/61 plate.
  15. That's what I originally thought until someone mentioned it to me. Doing a bit of searching on the internet I gave come across a few articles that back this up... See http://www.carscoops.com/2011/03/nissan-updates-2011-370z-in-europe-adds.html 'For the new model year, Nissan introduces a number of suspension, transmission and equipment improvements for the entire 370Z Coupe range while also adding a new trim level to the range called the GT Edition.
  16. Hi there, After much deliberation on what to get for the next car l gave decided to upgrade the 350z to the 370z. My budget means I am looking around a 2011 plate. Whilst I knew about the black edition/gt edition what I hadn't appreciated was the standard GT spec also had updates around 2011. What I don't know is how to tell whether I am looking at a pre or post updates model. I think there were suspension improvements and maybe sound proofing. Can anyone tell me what to look for to be sure I am looking at a car with the updates?
  17. As instigator of this debate I want to thank everyone for the input and also apologise for all ruined friendships this subject has caused! I have enjoyed every minute. If I am being honest it's not helped much (sorry) but reaffirmed the opinion that's its just down to what ticks my boxes at this moment in time. A couple of other options will be looked into and I do need to get out there and try some. However, l think l have a favourite......drum roll please......... Going to go for the Audi m3 nismo.
  18. Well since I started this thread I should post something in response to what's been said! To be honest I've been busy with work since posting this morning but reading the posts have certainly made a few work meetings more interesting! It's clear that there are so many views and so man different ways of looking at it and I knew its down to personal choice, but it's added some food for thought. In terms of the £25k, that's a max and up until a week ago then l was looking at £16k max. But a nissan dealer got me looking at a pre-reg 370z and got me thinking. To be honest the real cost of a car is the depreciation/running costs, not the initial buying cost. My first £3k 1.4l escort cost me more over 2 years than my zed has (ignoring fuel!). I do agree with the people who have said its nice to own something a bit different and l know l need to get out there are try some. It just takes so much time and there arent a lot of any of the cars I am looking at within a close radius (Wirral). Il think l will steer clear of the older maseratis, tvr's etc and lotus is too compromised for practicality. I think I should add the cayman to the list though, seems quite a bit of support for that. I think the s5 may be a future car but while I am still young(ish) and have access to a more practical car then I may skip that this time. Anyway, thanks again for the views, will post when I narrow down a bit more but feel free to give any further opinions.
  19. I know that a car purchase is all about personal choice and posting this on a 350/370 forum will attract a little bias but any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. I seem to be swaying from one car to another. I have a 350z which I have had for a couple of years but I fancy a change and after working my ass off for 2 years I am able to upgrade. I can probably go up to £25k if I can really justify it. My circumstances mean that I could still get away with a less practical 2 seater but if I can combine sporty with 4 seats then great. What I do still want is performance (sub 6 second) with reasonable running costs(!) Having had a 350z then 370z is an obvious contender. I love my zed and the styling of the 370z is also to my taste. Given my budget I can look at a 1-2 year old 370z. My question is whether I should be looking at slightly older cars where you get more car for your money. For the money and to keep the performance then this is what I think I can get... * 370z Reg:11/12 Mileage: 10k - Almost new car but maybe higher depreciation ? * Audi S5 Reg: 09/10 Mileage: 40k - older but better refinement ? * BMW M3 Reg: 08/58 Mileage: 50k - older again but the ultimate drivers car ? So, ignoring the fact its down to personal choice: 1) Any opinions on the 3 options above and relative benefits, also opinions about ongoing running costs and depreciation over say a 2 year period. 2) Any other options to throw into the mix other than the 3 above ?
  20. Two Toyo T1R front tyres now going for £60 collected or £80 delivered.. Rear toyo and stock exhaust tip also still available...
  21. thats how I see it too Dave... I know I could save myself a bit on the labour front but I havnt got all the time in the world nor the skills, I hate spending any more money than I need to and will shop around to make sure I get the fitting as cheap as possible. But for the money thats was involved in each case (plus, drop links, pads) the time saved and comfort it gives me knowing the job has been done properly is worth it... each to their own..! talking of wasting money - I got drunk last night and in a moment of weakness paid £100 for a rugby ball signed by a Sale Sharks - i don't even like rugby!
  22. you know I am only joking vik! I am based on the Wirral....
  23. yep, I know I took a hit on the labour costs. FOr the brake pads I didn't really have a choice as the MOT ran out on Monday and so just needed it doing. On the other things..drop links, spark plugs, not being in any way mechanically minded and not having the right equipment I just went for the easy option in the end.... It's only a tank full of petrol after all!!
