  1. Got a really good deal on the engine, and it was way cheaper then build the bottom end, would have done that if i had more funds at that time. Would also have had to buy a new crankshaft it went to @*!#, if i had build it, it added up to way more then i paid for the whole engine. Would definitly do that now, but at that time i was unenployed and did not have the funds for it. Also, never heard this about the lightweight pulley will defently look into that, thanks!, then i guess a set will be up for sale here soon And yes mostly thinking about weight loss, take all the AC system out compressor also, dont need AC here in iceland, And also i will only run 6psi of boost with a good tune, which is about 3psi less then i was running last time, so the bottom end should handle that without any problems,
  2. Thats quite true, clean the wheels, 10min drive, clean them again, gets boring after a while, even though i like cleaning cars very much
  3. Ive had my Z for about 4 years now, its a 2003 base model, the whole car was repainted in 2010, white with black roof, 17" rims where painted white, and badges blacked out and also the lights in the bumper ware made black, it had around 50.000 miles on it, and a vortech v2 supercharger system. Here is a picture from 2010 and of the vortech v2 system: Vortech system, missing there is bigger fuel pump, injectors and more stuff Then in late 2012 the engine desided it did not want any more boost and the bottom end went to hell, So i rented a shed and started tearing the engine out, the bottom end was all damaged, only the heads survived. I connect that to the really bad gas we had here in Iceland, the gas companys got busted adding octan to there premium fuel, so it was basicly 93 octan, with octan adder. Picture of the engine out, outside the garage had to be there for 2 days The engine arrived from USA in may 2013, it is a used engine, with about 65k miles on it, never been boosted, and has perfect compression. But me having paranoia after the other engine failed, i started ordering, all new gasket set for the whole engine, with stronger headgasket, all new oil seals, Mishimoto low temp thermostat, water pump, timing chain assembly, new spark plugs and K&N oil filter. My mechenic is now putting the engine i got from USA back together for me with all the new stuff, will go after xmas to take photos of that progress. While i am waiting for that, ive started my ToDo list for the next year, its not much so far, but im always adding to it. Already bought: Test pipes - Done, today i bought test pipes from Mctwist here on the forum Nismo v2 spoiler - On the way from USA Vortech v2 supercharger system - (Getting it back from the guy that i sold it to next month) Lightweight pulley set - On the way Low temp thermostat - Installed Timing chain assambly and water pump - Installed Stronger headgasket and all new gasket set and oil seals - Installed Walbro 255lph fuel pump - Installed Deatschwerks 850cc - Installed To come Nismo v2 front bumper with candards(Replica) Side skirts, have not desided, any ideas? Rear bumper, have not desidesd, any ideas? Shorty antenna Retractable number plate system, dont like having the plate on my front bumper. Rear wiper delete AC Delete if i can find out how to keep the humidfier And a few things with interior, another gearknob, carbon wrap center console.and handles. Xenon in front lights. This is the list so far. And when the car is all together i will have the whole car repainted again, due to hit and run, and also the new bumpers, skirts and spoiler will need paint, my insurence will pay most of it anyway. The car will be mostly white, with a few black things, will reviel later.
  4. Hmm, I really had not though of that, no way to get around that?, Really need that one in Iceland
  5. If some mod would like to move this to HowTo section, that would be nice, at first i was asking howto but now i have changed it.
  6. 1. Have freon reclaimed(not sure how the laws are here, but i think you are not allowed to dumb it) 2. Buy AC removal tools(funky little tools to release the fittings that hold the AC lines togeather) very standard tools, most autozone have them 3. Remove compressor drive belt 4. Remove the lines of the compressor 5. Remove compressor 6. Remove the AC lines up to the firewall 7. Loosen radiator and remove the condenser from in front of radiator The heating system will to be affected, also i have heard the removing of condenser from in front of the radiator improves airflow to the radiator and improves cooling So, benifits would be 1. Modest weight reduction 2. Removal of belts will allow the engine to rev faster( Some say, i really doubt it) 3. Improved cooling I will do this after xmas, and post pictures and weigh all the stuff EDIT: Its also the de-humidfier so beware!
  7. With the right service these engines are good for up to 200k+ miles, lots of ppl have been taking them up to 300k miles Change all the gaskest and main seals at 100k, then your good for another 100k

  9. Thanks, also willing to trade, need test pipes/decats, would pay the diffrence if its a little bit more expensive
  10. I have the ACL Race bearing kit, standard bore size, its a kit so its the Main & rod bearings, and thrust washers, brand new in box, and plastic, never opened, very strong and good for FI application Price 100 pounds shipped or best offer, would take a few days as it is from Iceland Cost new from USA is 110-120 pounds plus 30 pounds shipping, so this is a save of 40-50 pounds.

  18. Thankyou all, one question, what 350z performance shop/OEM do you have in the UK, wanna see if its cheaper for me to order there or from the US NEVERMIND, spotted the professional trader section
  19. Hello, my name is Helgi, im 23 from Iceland. I have had my 350z for almost 4 years now, its a white 2003, base model, 6speed. First 2 years i had it, i had it supercharged with a vortech v2 system, upgraded fuel system, and more. Then after 2 years of 10psi of boost the motor was not so happy anymore, and it failed on me. Then i sold the vortech system, and ordered a used motor from the states which is ****ing expensive when your in Iceland, taxes and shipping alone was over 2000 dollars.. The used motor had around 50k miles on it, never been boosted, and when i finally got it i changed all the gaskets(including head gasket),all major seals, new thermostat/waterpump, spark plugs, oil filter, all hoses and belts. and currently i am putting it in the car, been really busy the last year, and been slowly ordering all this stuff over the year, really expensive to ship to Iceland which kinda sucks. Will make a tread and keep you posted about my swap if you guys like. Best quarter mile time was 12.770 on 120mph[b/] Here are a few videos and pictures the first 2 years i owned it:
