  1. Nothing installed in the car, which is actually a year old (60 reg). I bought it 3 weeks ago as an ex demonstrator. The failure to heat happens whether or not the air con is on. Seems like it might be the internal temperature sensor. I wonder if there is a way of getting the computer to tell you what temp it THINKS the cabin is ?
  2. Hi, Had my 2010 GT for 3 weeks now, and it seems the heater does not work properly. Today I put a thermometer in the car. Temperatures were roughly like this on my way to work. The first column is what the heater was set to. Actual recorded cabin temperature is in the second column. All measurements in centigrade: Setting Temp 22 20 24 21 26 22 Outside temp was warmish - about 17 C. So you see the problem . I am not looking forward to the winter. The thing is, the fan never went to more than 2 bars, so the car was not "trying" to heat things up very much, even when I eventually set it to 28C. Any ideas ? If I turn the setting up to 29.5 it is still lukewarm. But moving it up to 30 (the max) and tons of hot air suddenly pours out of the vents.
  3. The "placard" is one of those stickers under the driver's door, verifying the pressure as 35 PSI all round.
  4. Hi, Regarding Typre pressures, the 370Z manual just says "see the tyre perssure placard". I don't have a "placard" but this thread says the correct pressure is 35 psi: viewtopic.php?f=105&t=31886&start=0&hilit=pressure which is nice. Is that pressure recorded anywhere oficially though ? Jim.
  5. Seating is fine for me (5'9''). The wing mirrors are just too big.
  6. Extreme googling shows the tiny orange light is "mood lighting", part of the Connect Premium package - http://forums.nicoclub.com/little-orang ... 71302.html The 370z does not have front fog lights. Not a big loss, but strange as nearly every car has 'em these days. - I didn't get the seperate Nav manual, will call the dealer, thanks for that. - Agree voice control is pointless as buttons are much quicker and safer, particularly those on the steering wheel.
  7. Thanks for your help so far guys. My 370z GT is 2 weeks old and I have more newbie questions: Does the 370 have front fog lights ? What is that tiny orange light just beside the map reading lights on the ceiling ? Just a small orange LED shining out of a little hole in the hours of darkness. I have nothing against orange lights, but what is it ? The 370z satnav system seems really good (2010, Connect Premium). The 370z manual keeps referring to the "Navigation System Owners Manual" manual - ah just found the USA version. Is there a UK version out there ? On page 4-77 the 370z manual says you can control the heater/air conditioner with voice control. You can't. You can control other stuff: audio, nav, but not heater/air conditioner, unless you know better? Jim.
  8. Ah found the hill start assist - it does "just happen", but only forward. It does not seem to work in reverse, though the manual implies it does work in reverse (page 5-17). It seems to apply the brakes for up to 2 seconds after you release them, giving the driver time to apply the gas and build up the revs. I am not sure if it is monitoring the revs and is intelligent enough to release the brake when you apply the engine, or if it is just a simple brake time release.
  9. Ah the accellerator mystery is solved by R35LEE. If the speed limiter is not set then, should I fully depress the pedal and the switch for max power, or will max power be obtained by just pushing the pedal down as far as the switch ? Thank you Lex. I was hoping the assist feature would stop me rolling down the slope after the hand brake is released. This can also be achieved by holding the car on the clutch, but having the auto feature would be nice and would save some clutch wear.
  10. Howdy, Can anyone answer a couple of newbie questions ? I haven't been able to find the answers elsewhere. The manual says the car has "hill start assist", but there is no assistance that I can find. How does it operate? I want to use it reversing up hill off my drive. Question 2 - When you depress the gas pedal fully, it sort of clunks, as if there is a switch underneath it that is being pushed. What is that all about ? it's a little distracting. I looked under the pedal but it is all solid under there. The car is a 60 plate 370 GT. Still running in, loving all the forms of audio connectivity, especially mixing straight from my usb stick. Cheers. Jim.
  11. Picked up the beast last week. Mats were £135 but very good quality. About 60 miles of petrol in the tank but stopped to fill up anyway on the way back from the showroom. I left about 40 miles of petrol in the part ex RX-8, so fair's fair. Still running in and getting used to the millions of gadgets.
  12. They say mats/boot mat are ordered and will be in the car when I collect. Haven't said if they will try to charge me yet.
  13. The sale price is already agreed and signed off, so haggling time is over. I wonder how much petrol they will put in it. Bets?
  14. Thanks. The "thick boot mat" sounds like it might provide a bit of extra sound deadening too. Strangely enough, this car seemed noisier than the demonstrator I test drove.
  15. Hi, Just put a deposit down on a 1 year old 370z GT. Does the Z normally come with floor mats ? Some with "370z" written on them would be nice. Any other bits and bobs come with the car ? Jim
  16. Cheers Chris I. "Punters" looking to buy used should target 2010 reg cars (March 2010) or later if they want CP. "09" cars and will not have it unless the original buyer went for the option, in which case the seller/dealer will be shouting about it. BTW anybody upgraded their Satnav maps ? I guess it is the usual story - huge price/over a barrel etc.
  17. From reading around this forum, I see that Connect Premium was introduced in Jan 2010. Any 370z GT containing a satnav and made after Jan 2010 is most likely Connect Premium. Jim.
  18. After reading the brochure, I thought the GT pack included satnav. Apparently not. Here is a GT but clearly it has no satnav: http://www.westwaynissan.co.uk/grey-nissan-370z-10540
  19. Where is the Connect Premium USB socket, where you can insert a USB stick (containing music) ? Geoff-r mentions the ports are in the centre console, bit I can't see them in the pic. Cheers, Jim.
  20. Thank you. I can now spot GTs for sure in the ads. About Connect Premium - I wonder if there is a way to tell without actually seeing the car in the flesh and fingering the satnav ? A visual check would be good - the presence of a USB or other port perhaps ? Jim,
  21. Hi, I am looking to buy a 370 Coupe. A quick way to confirm a car is GT spec is just to look for the synchro-rev button or the cruise control on the right of the steering wheel. If either are present, it's a GT. Am I right in thinking that 19" wheels also confirm it's a GT ? Now the hard bit. What is the quickest way to tell if a 370z has "Connect Premium" fitted ? Jim
  22. Better still to ask the dealer to remove the wrap, inspect it and then buy or not. In this case though, the blackening has been done with paint. The dealer offered to paint it white again, but it's an expensive 3 stage process and I would have to bear some of the cost. Either way, I no longer have much of an interest. I don't like the mod, and I don't want to pay extra to have a car that has been messed around with. Bummer.
  23. Thanks for that, especially the photos. I will have to query it with the dealer, as I prefer an unmodified car.
  24. Hi, I am looking to buy a 370z and have identified a couple of cars. On one of them, the very front bit under the number plate is black, not body coloured. What does that signify ? On all the others I have seen that bit is the same colour as the body. The car is a 2010 white GT coupe. Jim
  25. Hi, My local dealer has a 370z I want to buy. White GT Coupe with 12000 miles. However the car seems to have no history or documentation. The dealer does not know if/when it had a service, and presumably has no stamped service book for the car. Dealer says it was previously owned by a "nissan manager", and says he is waiting history details from Nissan, so far without success. Documentation is important to me. I want to see all receipts, stamped service book, work done, who owned it, mileage at first service etc. Otherwise I won't buy. Am I thinking right here ?
