  1. Hi,

I'm looking at coming back to the Zed seen :) had a lovely Jap 350z a few years ago, bought and sold on this forum.

I currently have Land Rover Defender 90 that I've just refurbished, now up for sale, don't fancy a swap do you lol.

Had the 370Z itch for a few years now - does this have heated seats and what's the service history like?

Cant remember on these but do they have a timing chain or belt?

    Thanks,

    Karl

  2. Thanks for all the responses guys - Im looking for a fixer upper 370z or an audi S4, as I'll probably get the car do it up, keep it for about 2-3 months then sell it for usually the same price I paid for it with all parts etc. :)

Dont mind bodywork damage etc , will be staying away from mechanical - dont mind swapping out broken parts rads etc

    Will keep my eye out.

PS - That 370z sold for £5950 on Copart - just needed a new front end and spraying up.

Wouldn't be one for me, engine bay has been cleaned for the photo's (sort of), uneven pad/disc wear, MOT check shows going through rear tyres every 6k miles and front coil spring snapped.

Been a bit battered and not really looked after to be honest.

I'll save you money. Send me 4k and i'll mail you some scrap

    :) :)

Just checked the history, yes looks like its been battered about, gonna swerve this.

  4. As above guys, as Im back in the 370 Market :)

Ive stumbled across this white stunner https://www.wraithauto.co.uk/inventory/nissan-370z-gt-2009

    Obvious "engine issues" screams danger!

So I pick up the phone and call the dealer, very pleasant chap gave me a lot of info on the car and it seems to be the engine is cut out/grumbling at low speeds (under 20/25mph) at high speeds/high revs car drives fine. His sent me a few videos of the car/engine at start up and idle and it starts fine no noises jumping out/knocking etc.

So I start thinking could this just be a simple MAF sensor issue?

He had a classic car engine rebuilder look at it who said it could be the shaft sensor but that could open up a can of worms......

Googling this issue it seems a standard issue with the 350z/370z - I remember this issue with my 350 and cleaning the throttle body etc to improve idling and performance.

    So the $64000 question........whats everyones thoughts :) :) :)

  5. Hi guys,

Looking at getting back into the zed scene with a 370 this time!

Enjoyed my 350 so much 4/5 years ago and was a daily user on this much loved forum.

I've seen a CAT D thats very cheaply priced, obviously I need to run a car check on it been a CAT D.

Wondered if anyone has come across the car before, its a Black Edition 064/370 - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202006110029675?postcode=hu52nd&model=370 Z&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1500&sort=price-asc&make=NISSAN&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&page=1

I've got some spare cash that Im going to invest/trade off or buy a new motor, currently driving a A5 S Line 3.2 v6 but missing the clean lines of a zed!

Any help or thoughts are much appreciated as usual.

And its good to be back! (Well Nearly!)

    Karl :)

  6. Take it from my experience (I owned a couple of E92s)

If you cant get the M3, get the 335i, if you cant get the 335i... Don't buy one.

Take the 325i E92 for example - The engine is flat as a witches tit, the Fuel consumption is terrible (worse than my Zed). The head is noisy (research about noisy tappets). You will find it very boring.

Born and bread around BMW's, my advice - The 335i Twin Turbo Diesel. That can be mapped to 500BHP easily.

Thats what I thought guys see a nice 335i and 330d both with Idrive, think its gonna have to idrive at least then ;)

  7. Okay guys since selling the zed ;( I'm still on the look out for a BMW coupe e92 56plate+, just wondering if any other members have had experiences with them and if they should be any certain models etc I should stay away from, I know about the 320D engines with the timing chain failures. Also is Idrive really worth paying the extra $$$??

  8. Thanks for that, some really useful reading on there......Perhaps I should of searched first then opened mouth  Just picking up from that thread, which version of the import is this model; Base, S, T, ST ?

    thanks

    Graeme

    Hi Graeme,

Thanks for the interest. I'll double check but I believe it is a T as it has Bose Stereo Speakers, Black Electric Seats, Electric folding mirrors. Just no cruise or brembos. If you need any other info or pics please dont hesitate to ask :)
